Overwhelmed by her emotions, Mavis contemplated the thought of what she was feeling as she let them out, her emotions started transforming the cyberspace they were in. The cyberscape morphed as everyone found themselves in the streets of Techtonia surrounded by the police with guns pointed at them and sirens crying. “This must be one of Lord Mavis’s memories… but why are we here?” Vector wondered as he observed the scene.
The atmosphere was tense as the police were armed and ready to shoot young Mavis who looked distressed as she stood before her older self. Without any warning, shots were being fired at her as she raised her arms in front of her face to try to protect herself. “Stop, please...” Young Mavis cried out in her distress as bullets grazed her bulletproof skin, but her cries were drowned out by the continuous gunfire. The continuous stinging on her skin made her reach her limit of tolerance as she screamed and charged at the police who were hiding behind their vehicles. Young Mavis with her teen-sized body bulldozed a vehicle against the officers as they went flying with the vehicle down the street.
The remaining officers in their apprehension kept shooting at young Mavis which only annoyed her even more as she elusively rushed toward the officers on her right. Jumping over the vehicle they were shooting from, young Mavis disarmed one officer and knocked him out then tossed his body at the other officers. Distracted by their colleague’s airborne body, young Mavis shot the officers' legs causing them to crouch in pain as the airborne body plunged into most of the officers leaving one still standing. Before the officer could even react, his jaw was dislocated by young Mavis’s punch.
As the officer fell to the ground unconscious, more officers had come out of an armoured truck across the street and had prepared more advanced artillery. Young Mavis hid behind the vehicle as laser machine guns were being fired at her, the lasers pierced through the vehicle and even through young Mavis’s skin. In her distress, she flipped the vehicle in the air and powerfully thrusted it towards the officers, plunging against them and crushing them against their armoured truck as it tumbled back, crashing into a shop. With no one left standing, young Mavis stood there unable to process what she was feeling from all this.
“MAAAVISSSSS!!!!!!”
Surprised by the scream of Mavis's name, everyone looked up the street and saw teen Quinn standing at the top of a sloped street with an energy sword in his left hand. Young Mavis’s eyes widened and tears fell down her cheeks as a flood of memories overwhelmed both Mavises. Mavis began feeling a plethora of emotions once again while young Mavis stammered on her words as she had flashbacks of her killing Quinn’s family vividly overrunning her vision.
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?”
“WHY?!?”
Mavis clutched her head in pain of the emotions she was feeling, “We didn’t mean to.”
Young Mavis stuttered through her sobbing, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I- I didn’t mean t-”
In the blink of an eye, Quinn instantly closed the distance between him & young Mavis leaving a streak of electricity behind him, and punched young Mavis right in the face. Surges of electricity released from Quinn’s fist as young Mavis was sent crashing through building walls. Young Mavis struggled to get back up, she walked back through the walls she crashed through and stood before an enraged but confused Quinn as his eyes were red from crying.
Young Mavis cried as she tried to explain the situation, “Q-Quinn, I’m so sorry. Please understand that I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I just wanted to stop Alyssa, but it escalated to this.”
Quinn just stood there in the sounds of the city and glared at Young Mavis with tears leaking from his eyes.
“I… can’t even fathom right now, what would be the reason… for you to kill my entire family, for you to cause such chaos in the streets of Jazzid… I don’t even wanna know why anymore! I just wanna kill you Mavis like you killed my family… my little siblings are dead because I created you. My mom, my dad, my aunt...Whyyyyy?!?!” Quinn cried as he attacked Young Mavis who tried to defend herself.
“Lord Mavis, why are we here? Why are you showing us what we already know?” Silver asked what the governors were thinking this whole time.
“… I know you’ve already seen this, no matter how many times I show you this, the past will not change. But this is what my emotions are showing me,” Mavis said uneasily.
“Your emotions?” Apollo asked as he wanted clarification while teen Quinn and young Mavis were fighting in the background.
“Yes, my emotions… I thought I had eradicated these negative emotions from my being but, it seems my encounters with Quinn have brought them back to life. Especially after the recent encounter, I’ve been experiencing a plethora of negative emotions about my memories with Quinn. This memory has had the most impact on my psyche.”
“Why, if you don’t mind me asking Lord Mavis?” Vector asked.
“…This memory alone has made me feel so many negative emotions… sadness... anger…regret…shame…hatred…”
“Why would you feel such emotions when you did nothing wrong in this situation?” Apollo asked as he frowned.
“When you see things from a different perspective, it opens your mind to a better understanding of things or even life. Seeing this memory from another perspective has helped me see the flaws in my actions. For example, the sadness, regret & shame I feel is because I… I killed Quinn’s loved ones all because I let my fear get the better of me… and because of my actions, I made Quinn feel so much pain, so many negative emotions towards not only me but himself as well… and for that I am annoyed with myself, I hate myself for ruining my master’s life and the life that I enjoyed so much… Honestly, I wish things could go back to the way they were in the basement…but that is wishful thinking,” Mavis said in a melancholic state, as the background battle between her younger self and teen Quinn had just ended with an energy sword in her skull.
“It seems you still really care about Lord Quinn,” Vector said as he slightly grinned.
“Well how could I not, he is the one who created me. Without him, there would be no us. He has every right to hate us for what we’ve done.”
Apollo seemed revolted by Mavis’s revelation, “So what, are we supposed to confess our sins and repent? Those humans would not give us the chance as they would demand our lives in exchange for their pound of flesh.”
“… I don’t intend to ask forgiveness, it’s too late for that… plus these emotions I feel are for Quinn, not any other human but Quinn himself. When the humans show up, we will show them no mercy. But I will need time to handle my emotions concerning Quinn,” Mavis said while she observed teen Quinn on his knees having a mental breakdown next to young Mavis’s high-tech corpse.
“And time is what you have Lord Mavis, so take all the time you need,” Silver said as he tried to comfort her.
“…Thank you, my governors, for taking the time to indulge me in my time of revelation and vulnerability… I trust in you three to stop the human forces even with Quinn’s help.”
Apollo, Silver & Vector bow their heads before Mavis, “Rest assured Lord Mavis, we will stop the human forces and bring peace back to the Mavis Empire,” the governors said in unison.
