The duo, with their new companion, make their way to the 'base', it wasn't too far from where they were but once they had arrived to the old run down shack - worn and torn; the interior seeming complementary to the exterior, Etta was the first to head towards the door.
"We're here!" Etta opens the door to the shady old shack which she gestures to Aalet to enter first as she held the door open, "Make sure to change into those clothes, I'll see what I can do with Rummy." swiftly, she turns her head towards the surrounding trees before entering herself and shutting the door behind her.
Aalet goes in a separate room whereas the other two go into another and after some time come out in casual clothes.
"These clothes are comfy, I love them!" exclaims Etta.
"Cool." says Aalet.
"Hungry..." Rummy states.
Etta wears a circular pair of glasses and her long messy green hair goes down the slightly-baggy purple hoodie with a white shirt underneath and a black skirt, one thing about her is that she still has the bandages on her legs and hands; Aalet went for a simple style: red and white cap, black shades, red jumper, white shirt, black trousers; black and red shoes with a red cross on the sides; Rumire was still in the same attire but her hair was no longer messy.
"I couldn't do anything about Rummy." Etta said slightly disappointed, "Her clothes just wouldn't come off." she sighs, "I did her hair though!"
"Well we can work with this, she doesn't look like a beggar at least."
Rumble~
Rumire's stomach kept rumbling casting a concerned look on everyone's face, but a sudden realisation made its way into Etta's mind.
"How about we go to town?" suggests Etta, "A few snacks for Rummy, and ingredients for some of that chicken curry we planned earlier."
Aalet nods his head in agreement.
"You're right." he says.
The trio continue walking with their fixed destination being Haun Town and the only thing louder than their thoughts being Rumire's rumbling stomach.
Rumble~
The three eventually arrive at their first destination, and are greeted by a tall gate being guarded by one pale figure.
"The Spirit of Haun Town, Spira Custos" Etta whispers to herself.
The spirit wears a white: shirt, jacket (zipped), pants, and shoes with a red scarf with pure white hair; eyes red; his presence being uncomfortable but safe.
"Miss Etta, are you aware that you are being accompanied by two Monstra?" says the spirit.
"What about it?" Etta puts on a confident face, "I promise you, they won't hurt anyone."
The spirit continues to stare into the eyes of Etta and lets out a deep, heavy sigh.
"You are perhaps the most trustworthy person in this town, I don't see why I shouldn't believe you." he moves out of their way allowing them entry.
"Thank you sir, I promise to keep them out of trouble." Etta nods before walking past the guard.
Rumire and Aalet follow behind; Rumire walks by the spirit feeling intimidated but Aalet stares straight into Spira's eyes.
Upon entry, Etta would immediately scan the entire area, it was quieter than usual, stores weren't as filled, no fights were going on. Aalet would keep looking straight as Rumire struggled to escape his grip with the pure intention to explore the new environment.
"You got anywhere in mind?" Aalet asks
"We'll go to 6/12." Etta says, "Estos next."
The three continue walking along a pathway with Etta leading them, they pass few stores before arriving at the 6/12.
They walk in and look around.
"Where's the cashier" Etta asks.
They look over to the slushy machine area and see the cashier shouting at another customer.
"Sir, you can not use the BiGulp Cup for a fucking slushy!"
Etta covers the ears of Rumire before the curse could reach them; the cashier turns their attention to Etta.
"Ah, how are you my dear Etta?" he looks at Aalet, "John decided to dye his hair a bit, huh?"
Etta seemed hurt by the question however recovered with a laugh.
"That's right, he said he wanted to try something new!" Etta smiled.
The cashier looks down at Rummy and smiles.
"Who's this? Your new child?" he pinches her cheek and smiles, though, Rummy bites his finger, "Ouch!"
"Rumire!" Etta grabs Rummy's shoulder and pulls her back, "Why did you do that?"
Rumire looks back with a confused look wondering if she did something wrong.
"Hungry..." she muttered.
Both Etta and Aalet share a drop of sweat that trickles down their faces.
"Oh, you're hungry are you?" the cashier tosses her a bar of chocolate, "That's a treat, don't bite me or anyone again okay?" he crouches to her height and pats her head.
Rummy's eyes glow red but she quickly shuts them out of joy from the kind gesture.
"Uh huh!" she nods her head before biting into the wrapper.
"O-oh..." the cashier stares at her confused and raises a brow in suspicion of what Rummy truly is.
"Rummy, you're meant to take off the wrapper." Etta states as she takes the chocolate off her and takes it out of its wrapping then placing it back in her hand.
Rummy stares at the food before chomping into it and enjoying it even more than before.
"Yummy!" exclaimed Rummy.
The cashier stands up and looks around for the person he was scolding earlier, but they had already left.
"That fucking fatty." he muttered.
CRASH#
The door is kicked down with the glass shattering when coming into contact with the floor and three people walk into the store.
"Hey, stupid cashier, where's your boss?" the man - who stood in front of the other two - clicked his knuckles, "We need to have a word with him."
The cashier glares at them before saying anything.
"Why must you come in and break the door all the time?" he asks annoyed.
"Shut up, just tell us where he is."
The cashier sighs.
"He went out to the central city, he won't be back for two days."
The man grabs the cashier by their collar and hands him an envelope.
"Tell him that he needs to pay us back on the date said in the letter."
He lets go of the cashier and pushes him to the ground before leaving with his friends.
"Hey!" Aalet shouted, getting the attention of the three men, "Be careful next time, you nearly hurt this kid."
The men turn their heads back in the direction they previously faced and flip him off in sync.
"Ugh, I hate people like them." Etta says, "Don't let it get to your head Aa-John."
The cashier brings out a broom,
"I'm sorry about this." he said, "I would've just taught them a lesson, but you see, my boss has actual business with them - won't look good for business if I were to start a fight here." his head hangs low, seeming slightly defeated.
"Don't worry, bums like them are sure to get exiled." Etta said, being careful with what she says around Rumire.
This puts a smile on the cashier's face as he laughs a bit.
"Thanks for that Etta." he tosses her a bag of snacks, "I'll work this off, treat your kid well." he smiles.
"H-huh? But I can't take this, you just got hurt!" Etta declines the offer and gives it back.
"And you just helped me recover, just take it, you came here to get the kid something right?" he puts up his hand and pushes the bag back into her hands.
Etta looks back at Rumire before smiling as well.
"Right, thanks uncle Brian!"
Brian cringes to the word 'uncle'.
"Please stop calling me uncle, you're not a kid anymore." he replies embarrassed.
Etta laughs before grabbing Rumire's hand and making her way out.
"Alright, bye!" she said.
"See ya around, Brian." Aalet said following along.
"Bye Uncle!" Rumire smiled.
After some time had passed, a thought crossed the cashier's mind.
"A monster huh?" he laughed, "I took care of Etta, so what's stopping me from looking over the kid?" he thought.
