Vengeance struck into the people’s core but slowly the screams for a revolt stopped. Five Years have passed, but the malichor spread to every gender no matter the age. My father King Thorn has since passed and now my brother his only “True Heir” as he called it rules over us all. My brother is a kind king who wants to help cure us of this terrible curse.
This morning feels different than all the rest. I wake up in anticipation and rush past my maids. I hear Mrs. Scotburn yell at me, “Young Lady where do you think you’re going? You must be presentable for your brother”. Hearing what she said sounded urgent as he never calls for me. I rushed to get dressed but I am filled with excitement of what he wants. I run to the throne room with urgency, but I am stopped in my tracks upon hearing other voices in the room.
Upon opening the Doors, I see an Elf holding an axe, He must be a mercenary. This elf has seen war as his grey body is covered in scars. His eyes look iced over as if he his heart has been covered in ice. He has a Big Sapphire colored Dire Wolf with him. I slowly move my eyes to the Bookshelf and see a woman with a short sword by her side and a dagger under her sleeve, she must be the Rogue. Her eyes are the deepest green I have ever seen looking into her eyes I seemed to be getting pulled in. Her hair is a beautiful Deep blue green. This what it feels like to stand in front of a siren. I see one more but this one looks a bit more timid hiding amongst her animals. This one is a lot different compared to the rest of the group as seeing her animals she must be the infamous druid of the White Forest. I have only ever heard of shapeshifters in the legends. Which is interesting considering she is the hell cat that feared across the Lands. Her true hell cat form consists of seven deadly claws per paw. The hell cat fur is as black as death itself, whose piercing gaze sent many young men to their death. Her eyes meet mine they quickly flash to yellow almost glowing like a cat’s eye do in the night. I am drawn to her hair it is Raven Black and shines as if the sun deemed it the brightest diamond. Beside to her is a small green dragon whose body is covered in vines. Its eye’s meet mine suddenly its body changes to black with Blood red scales warning me it will show me its full powers.
I slowly walk in wondering why Kane has these people in the throne room. Is it another treaty? Or could he be doing what he promised years ago to his people as I’m thinking this my brothers’ eyes seem to soften as he meets mine. “Ah my sister has arrived” , Kane calls the group towards him. “I have summoned all of you here for one purpose. I need a cure to be found before our home falls further into ruin”. Kane goes silent for a moment to ponder his thoughts.
How could Kane get his sister to leave the castle with the group he hired. Would Brenna be up to the task, or could she really see that her people were nearing extinction. Kane thought if they can get passed the Jormungdandr then perhaps he wasn’t sending the group to the death.
Quickly Kane pulls himself from thought to address the issue and why he summoned them. “As you all know the contagion has gotten worse its mark has spread across almost all Fahroe due to the Jormungdandr. What we need is a cure, I have heard rumors of a miracle cure in The Forest of Crystals. You must go through the dangers of the forest with its provided trials in order to show you are worthy in the eyes of the crystal. If you make it out alive you will enter the village. The only problem we have is the wyvern is heavily guarded by it its tribe, its keeper is the last species of wyvern. The tribe there has vowed to protect the wyvern and kill anyone who gets to close. I need you to see said cure and all while gaining their trust for us to save our village”.
How rude of me says Kane let me do introductions, here we have Leo our Mercenary, in the middle is the Beautiful Freya our Rogue. Finally, we have Kari our Shape shifter she can speak with almost any living creature.
Dear sister, says Kane you are the only one who can save us. It is time I tell the truth about your birth. You are the cursed child one of many who brought this curse upon the land. You were born from Death and the Jormungdandr shortly arrived after your birth.
In hearing these words, I force myself to only feel such hard grieve inside and not cry in front of my brother or the group he hired. I feel like screaming in never knowing what could have been. Instead, I am hell’s queen brought to life. I have brought my people death; I am Death itself as everything I have touch so far has turned to ruin. Your highness I am ready for this if I am the reason my people are suffering then I will bring an end to it. Thinking to myself I try not to grow into despair as I walk out of the Throne room. Walking to the front doors I feel conflicted and fright of not knowing of what’s coming. I ignore through those feelings while I push open the gates. The slight warmth of the sun rays hit my face as I gaze into the courtyard. Walking more closely to the gate you can smell burning bodies and see how bad it truly is in the village. Death is in the air as I am walking, I come face to face with a plague doctor hauling his next set of bodies to the pits. I gather myself quickly and keep telling the group we are moving forward and soon will be reaching the Gates of Nile. Closer to the gates of Nile is our Port which has been closed for four years. Walking through our market and port feels like a ghost town. Only those who seek dark magic, or a cure all come here. I don’t hesitate to quickly leave pushing my way through to the gates. Hearing the creak of the Old wooden doors and the chains pulling down the gate I lead the warriors out. Reaching the knights checkpoint was the easy part since there really wasn’t much with a skeleton crew. I lead them deep into the forest hoping we miss the Jormungdandr.
