Asta's P.O.V
Lyra's so cute when she's eating. She covers her mouth when she eats, her purple locks in a ponytail. She always has it up before our sex session. She says she does it so it doesn't get in the way. I brought her breakfast in bed because today would be a hard day without her; she was ordered to stay in the room as a precaution when the Seraph family arrived today. They are going to be furious about me killing one of the heirs. However, he did deserve to die.
She hands me her empty plate. "So I have to stay here because we have guests? I'm okay with that. Make sure to come back soon, my love."
Nodding, I get up, take both of our plates to the kitchen, set the plate in the sink, and walk back into the room, stripping out of my pajamas and getting dressed in formal wear for the visitors. I put on a black button-up top with black slacks and a pair of dress shoes.
Turning towards Lyra. "How do I look?"
She chuckles and smiles up at me from the bed. "Snazzy as always!~ you'll knock them dead, my love!"
Accepting her words as finality, I walk towards the bedroom door and exit out into the main living space; walking through the room and to the entrance to the outside, I leave my hand resting on the handle.
I can do this. It's a simple conversation with the Seraph Family.
Walking out into the bustling castle, I smile as a worker passes me. I am clearly in a rush as I start heading towards my father's office. Pulling The Roseshard Pendant from my pocket and entering my father's office, I hear the middle of an argument.
My father's voice booms with authority. "You shall wait until she gets here to get the full story. It is not my story to tell!"
Aurora Seraphic's voice matches his in acoustics. "She KILLED their eldest heir?! And you say it's not your story to tell?!"
I step into the room, raising The Roseshard Pendant and intervening. "Yes, I did, and I also stole their artifact. It serves them right for what they did."
She approaches me, getting in my face about the matter at hand, and matches my defiant tone. "And what, pray tell, did they do to deserve that?"
I shove her back hard and snap, eyes aflame. "Dominic raped my consort; he was destined to die via the entries agreement, Page 34 subsection 3: 'Shall any member of either house defile another consort they should be sentenced to death.' He happened to be the one who defiled my lovely consort."
She scoffs, fixes her dress, and pats it down, rolling her eyes. "There is no clause protecting same-sex consorts."
I growl as The Roseshard Pendant in my hand starts to glow. "You really wanna fight that this much?! You realize just how outmatched you are here, right?"
She backs away and stammers softly. "You wouldn't dare break our treaty and kill me over something as little as wording, would you?"
I step towards her and snarl, baring my fangs at her. "Fucking try me."
She seemed to back down after this, resigning herself to one of the seats in front of my father's desk. "So then what is the plan you bring the war to your doorstep for, and for what?"
"I'm going to turn Lyra into a royal so she can properly defend herself when she gets the chance, and I need your family's help to do so; you're going to help me steal the Crystalline Dagger from the Dragonic Family if they are not willing to cooperate."
She gasps and spins around to gaze at me. "WHAT?! You can't possibly think my family would agree to this."
My father interjects. "They already have; you're just here to relay the information if they decline our official offer, which I just sent this morning."
She stares at the both of us, flabbergasted as she scoffs and sighs. "Any word from the Dagonic Family?"
My father flips out his stopwatch and reads the texts on the screen. "Yes... They have agreed to our terms and will send an ambassador over as soon as possible to watch over the turning and perform the needed spells to turn her and Lyra into proper royals. You may return to your family knowing we are preparing for war. Be sure to stay on our side, will you?"
She sighs and gets up, storming out of the room as I walk over and set the Roseshard Pendant onto his desk, his voice stopping me in his tracks with a hand over mine. "You know my rule in this house."
He gestures to all the trophies he's taken over the years from all of his victims, smiling proudly at me.
"You keep what you kill."
I blink at him, shocked by this momentarily; although I quickly recover and grin back, holding the Pendant over my heart as I bow to him and murmur, "As is your word, Father."
