Asta's P.O.V
I sigh, swamped by paperwork at my desk, filling in the never-ending lines of information for the party we are having today. Well, the party is a bit of an understatement. We're having a ball celebrating war—my father's wicked idea.
The day will be filled with dress fittings for Lyra and tux fittings for me. Then I'm taking her to the jeweler and a hair stylist to see if she will do her hair for the day.
I get up after I fill out all the paperwork. I look at the clock, and it reads it is still early in the morning. Looking over at Lyra's sleeping form, I chuckle and walk over to her, gently sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling her head into my lap, brushing her purple locks out her face and behind her ear.
"Lyra, my sweet, it's time to wake up. We have a busy day ahead of us." She grumbles and turns over. I chuckle and nuzzle her exposed neck, gently kissing the scared bite marks on it; pulling back, I let my finger brush her scars. "Sweetie, we gotta get up. I have a lot planned for us today."
I hear her sigh before nodding and slowly sitting up in the bed, the black comforter being held to her chest, covering her body and protecting her from the cold air. "This early, Asta..?"
Nodding, I lean forward, kissing her lips softly, her hands lingering on my shoulders. Pulling away, she gently kisses my cheek and down my neck before biting it hard, making me gasp and wrap my arms around her. "Lyra..."
"I can't wait until I'm turned, then I can mark you the way you have me~" I blush hard and giggle softly, pulling her into my lap and gazing over her nude body, perfect in all ways, my hands lightly tracing her frame.
She jumps out of my lap, walks to the closet, and starts rummaging around. At this, I take the opportunity to tell her about today's plans. "Oh! About that, my love! Today, we have a special ball that we will get you ready for, so I have made plans for us to go to a jeweler, a hairdresser, and a dressmaker."
Walking back over to me, she gently grabs my arm and leads me to the bathroom before starting the shower. Understanding what she wants, I begin to strip down in the washroom before I gently grab her hips and pull her to me. The hunger in my gut is growing, and the pain is setting in. The smell of her sweet blood through her skin is very intoxicating.
I growl and push her into the warm shower, following close behind. Stepping into the shower, I draw the curtain and turn to her, gazing at me with those lust-lidded eyes. Her voice is soft with anticipation when she asks, "You're hungry, aren't you?"
I nod as she steps closer to me, my pupils dilating as my mouth waters, the hot, steamy water rolling off our body as she gently lets her hands graze over my exposed body. "Feed from me, then~"
That is all I need before my fangs are buried deep into the exposed meat of her shoulder. Drawing blood from her as my hands explore her body, the intense feeling of pleasure fills us both as her warm blood spills into my mouth.
Her soft voice reaches my ears as she gently wraps her arms around my head, caressing the hair on the back of my head. "Good... Drink as much as you need."
Nodding into her skin, I extract my fangs, making her gasp as I wrap my lips around the bite mark and start sucking on the wound, taking as much as I can without harming her. Feeling this strength fill my bones, I slowly pull off the scars, licking them steadily so they can heal. The shower water washes away the excess blood we usually would have to clean or lick up. Smiling down at her, I kiss her lips softly, letting the sweet taste of her blood linger on our lips before pulling away and grabbing the soap.
I start running it over the body of my beautiful lover. She snorts, "You know I can wash myself, right?"
Her tone is playful as she presses her soapy body against mine, and I grin at her. "Yes, but I like caring for you, my sweet."
She giggles and takes the conditioner, lathering it in my black curls as I turn my back to her, letting her soap up my hair more. I lean back into her hands, relaxing, letting the warm water wash over me and cleanse me for the day ahead.

Hopping into the limo, I smile and draw Lyra into my lap, pulling a bottle of red wine out of the cooler between the seats. She raises an eyebrow at me. "Drinking already, huh?"
I chuckle and pour Lyra and me a glass. "Why yes, it makes the day go faster, and I'm hoping to have a lot done by the end of it."
She laughs with me and takes a sip of the red wine, the crimson liquid coating her lips as I lean forward and gently like some for myself, kissing her deeply as she returns the favor.
After a few minutes of kissing and drinking wine, we make it to the first place on the list of many: The hair salon. Immediately, she looks concerned, still not completely used to the luxuries of this lifestyle. "Here? This place is costly, love. Are you sure you want me to get my hair done here..?"
Nodding, I gently wrap my arms around her waist, kissing her before setting her in the seat beside me, opening the door, stepping out first, and holding my hand. "Of course, my sweet love. Anything for you; and I only want you to be the happiest you can be~"
She gently grabs my hand, stepping down onto the brick street. I slowly lead her into the big-name brand salon, Curls To-Share, as an old, very familiar voice reaches out to me. "My, my, look what the cat dragged in. I haven't seen you in so long, little Asta."
I laugh and shake my head, staring at my old hairdresser, Barbara - mainly hoping she won't spill anything embarrassing to Lyra. "Well, I'm sorry, but I just haven't had time to come and get my hair done; you see, I've been too busy getting my consort used to everything royal." I give her a knowing look. "Which is why we are here, for your royal treatment!"
She laughs and pats the seat of her barber chair. "Well, bring her pretty head of hair over here, and let me look at it."
Lyra sits in the chair, starting a simple conversation with Barbara as I sit in the little lobby they have just outside the hair-cutting area while I get lost in the TV. It is some drama making fun of the progenitor vampire. The job is already done when I tune back into the conversation. "Wow, that was fast. How much will that be this time?"
She shrugs it off as I get up and scrutinize Lyra's new hairstyle. It looks just about usual until it gets to the end of her long purple hair. It now curls in small tight ringlets, simple yet beautiful; I guess you can say that the whole of today will be simplicity with tiny bits of beauty, matching her perfectly with the theme. "Ohh, don't worry about it, deary. I'll send the bill to your home, and you can deal with it then."
Gently grabbing her hand, I lead her back to the limo, waiting for us. "You look absolutely stunning, my sweet Lyra."
She blurts and gently tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. "Y-you don't think this is too much?"
I shake my head and smile softly, pulling her into the limo and gently kissing her lips, the hint of wine still on them. "Not at all, my sweet. It's perfect for you."
The limo starts on down the road. We then head to the jeweler, where my father took me to get my favorite necklace. The rest of the ride is silent as I gently play with her newly curled hair. She giggles softly as I adjust her petite frame in my lap, my hand slowly tracing her spine.
When the limo stops, l lead her into the jeweler's place, Vampiric Apothecary, where they create unique jewelry for the royal families. She chuckles weakly, "Wow, you're determined to make me blush, right?"
She releases my hand as I watch her intently, my thoughts buzzing with the right words to say. "I want to get you something special from here."
She opens the door for the both of us as we are greeted with smiles and approvals from the jewelers. It sure does take a while, but she picks out a blue pendant necklace that gives its user extra strength and endurance. I feel my stomach spark with curiosity.
I wonder why she picked that one...
After purchasing the necklace, I walk up to her and gently hook it around her neck, careful not to clip her hair in the clasp. I then let it fall just perfectly between her petite breasts, leaving everything to the imagination. She observes me before looking away sheepishly and whispering, "Love... You're staring."
This makes me jump as I blush. I quickly look away, looking around the jewelers' supplies, picking out a ring that enhances a sense the gem is charmed to detect is lacking. Buying both of the items, I slip on the ring as I suddenly become more aware of the heat emanating from my core - touch, then?
Dressing her up and making her look all pretty got me worked up.
I gently hook my arm around hers before leaving the jeweler front. Walking her back to the limo, opening the door for her, and slipping inside after her, I chuckle softly and whisper. "Just one more stop, my love, and I think you'll like this one."
She chuckles and gently grabs the back of my neck, pulling me into a deep kiss, searching my eyes and filling me with love. "Oh yeah? I can't wait.. I wonder what it could be."
Kissing back softly, I pull her into my lap again, my hands finding her thighs quickly. I gently squeeze them, eliciting a playful giggle from my partner in crime. My fangs gently graze her soft, exposed skin, a growl emanating from my chest. She smacks at me jovially, "H-hey, now you'll have to wait! No playing around just yet~" She gently pushes my head away from her neck. I whimper and sigh as the limo comes to the day's final stop: Veil & Velvet's, where I get all my tuxes from. She cringes once more, making me wonder with unease if she enjoyed today at all. "This place is really fancy... Are you sure? We've spent so much already."
A little hurt, I only shrug and pull her inside, showing her to my tailor - one of the co-owners, Matilda Velvet, herself - and standing back as she starts to get measurements from Lyra. Of course, over the next few hours, she designs a dress that matches her hair in color and the design of her new hairstyle, with a wide bottom supported by layers of fine tulle and a tight-knit top showing off her chest. Lastly, she is sporting mere straps instead of sleeves, though Matilda adds an elegant loop around the shoulders of the dress to maintain an ethereal air. I smile, satisfied. That will make it fun to turn her.
After the fitting and the last adjustments, we get the dress folded in a box as I gently pull her back into the limo, kissing her softly and pressing her into the seat. I trail my hands up her thighs as she gently grabs them, stifling my movements as I meet her gaze, her eyes shining bright in the darkness of the limo. Those beautiful purple eyes start to take over me; I lean forward and press my lips against her soft lips.
The rest of the car ride home is filled with us enjoying the other's company as my hands gently explore her body, slowly teasing her; as the limo comes to a stop, I pull away from her neck, my fangs extended as my hunger grows. I sigh and sit up, wiping my mouth softly as I step out of the limo again, helping Lyra out and pulling her close as the guests flood the main entrance.
I hold her close while skirting away from the crush of people, instead opting for the secret entrance for royals on the side, muttering to myself, "Damn, it's already started. Let's get you upstairs and changed, and we will go to the ball together."
To quicken the process, I pick Lyra up and carry her bridle-style, slowly making our way to our room. Slipping in, I gently set her down on the ground. I lock the door behind me before I follow her into the bedroom, my gaze roaming over her now nude body.
She gazes at me skittishly, and I suddenly realize what her issue is throughout the day, kicking myself for focusing on my feelings instead and not realizing it sooner. "What?" She asks hastily.
I take a step forward and gently cup her face. "I understand you're nervous, Lyra, but I am always here for you when you need help or support." I lean down to get on her eye level, searching her face and whispering, "You're absolutely ravishing, Lyra, and I promise I'll protect you until the end."
She gulps hard and nods slowly as she steps closer, closing the distance between us, my lips meeting hers again - and this time she's more relaxed and assured than before. I love her natural lavender taste.
Pulling away, I smile down at her and slip my clothes off before stepping over to my closet and pulling out a deep plum tux I had made to match her style, slipping on the white under shit and then the purple tie and blazer with the matching purple pants.
I turn to Lyra with my arms out. "Like it?"
She holds in a giggle and nods, slipping the lighter lavender dress on. I make my way over to her. She turns her back to me, and I reach down and gently zip up the dress.
Holding her by her snatched waist, I look at the both of us in my long body mirror on my wall - light and dark, united by something beyond mere comprehension. "Look at us; we are a perfect match." She nods and gently interlaces her fingers with mine.
The alarm from my stopwatch goes off. I pull it out and see a message from my father stating that we need to be down and enjoying the festivities with the rest of the family. "It's my father. He wants us at the ball. Are you ready, my love?"
She gives me a nod before grabbing my hand and leading me out of our bedroom and into the living room of our apartment, further leading me out of our small, humble apartment. Locking the door behind us, we go down to the bustling sounds of people partying and having fun. Stepping out of the stairway and into the hallways, we are passed by guests and servants alike - a lot of which are members of the Draconis I recognize, given we are using their Relic tonight.
Following out into the ballroom, I make our way to the stage where the rest of my family is set up. My father approaches me with the legendary Crystalline Dagger. As he smoothly hands it off to me, he offers just a few words in hushed tones. "Good luck, my daughter. I hear it's one hell of a high." I take the dagger and pocket it quitely before sitting down with the rest of my family at the table they set up on the stage.
He takes the stage, and his booming voice quiets everyone. "Today, we celebrate the first day of breaking the peace, we celebrate the journey it has taken us to get here, but most importantly, we celebrate the will and want of us - the want for war." Hunger sparks in his eyes and he gives a nearly crazed grin as everyone cheers loudly - well, almost everyone. I can't help but notice some of the Draconis look particularly peeved, probably since we are waging war against their direct ally. I sigh inwardly.
This is certainly going to be a long night.
