At that, I put my phone on the charger on the counter and went back to the front where the kitchen was located and where the girls were waiting for me.
As approached Ms. James said
“Well since you girls are all here are you ready for dinner? She asks us
“Yes, Ms. James,” We said all in unison
“Okay, Okay,” she said laughing.
“I will tell Chef Anthony and should be ready in about 15 minutes.” She said
“Thank you, Ms. James”
“It is My pleasure”
I asked the girls, 'While we're waiting, what would you like to do?' Gabrielle, Ava, Clara, and Abrigal all looked at each other, then at me. Clara suggested that we brainstorm ideas for what we want to shop for tomorrow and that we give me a makeover for my date. 'Well,' I replied, 'we can brainstorm ideas for our swimming outfits and bikinis, but we can do the makeover later after dinner.' 'Okay, that's cool,' they all agreed. With that, we all went up to my room, and I grabbed my phone and charger. As we were heading upstairs, we ran into my brother Lucas. 'Oh hey girls,' he said in his deep voice. I hugged my brother, and he hugged me back. When I stepped back, I noticed that all of my friends acknowledged my brother, except for Ava, who was drooling after him as he went downstairs. 'I called out after him, 'Ms. James said that dinner will be ready in 15 minutes.'"
Lucas and I attend the same school, but we don't socialize much. He has his friends on the football team, and I have my group of girls. When we first started, some people thought we weren't related because Lucas didn't look like me, but he's still handsome. Every girl I know, including my friend Ava, has a crush on him. However, surprisingly, my other friends Gabrielle, Abrigal, and Clara haven't shown any interest in him. I guess that's some sort of girl code, but I'm glad they're not letting a boy come between us and I hope that never happens.
As Lucas left, we had to drag Ava to my room, where she finally came to her senses.
"I did again, didn't I? Ava asked
"Uh.. yeah you do like every time !" "Why haven't you asked him out yet?" Gab asked her "Ava answered, 'Well, I didn't want to be rejected and I didn't want it to seem weird for Theresa that I was dating her brother.' she said shyly.
'Girl,' I said as I sat next to her, 'I will never stop you from dating my brother, and I will never think it will be weird, none of us will.'
I don't think he will reject you because you are a very beautiful and kind person. How could he or any other boy reject you?
'Really?' She said.
'Yes, really,' we all said to her.
'Omg, you guys are the best friends ever,' she said to us, bringing us into a hug.
'So how are you going to ask him and where?' Gabrielle asked Ava.
'I don't know!' Ava said.
"I said, 'Well, you can always ask him at the party on Sunday since he is part of the football team, and there's no way that he's not going since he is co-captain of the football team.'
'True, but do we know for sure that he is going?' Ava asked. As soon as she asked that, I heard footsteps walking up the staircase.
"Well, I guess I can ask him." I got up and opened the door.
"Hey, brother?"
"Yeah, what's up, sis?"
"Are you going to the party on Sunday?" I asked.
"Yes, I am. Why? Are you girls going?"
I looked back at the girls and then back at him and said, "Yes, we are."
"Okay, cool!" He said as he walked to his door. "Do you need a ride?"
"I mean, yeah, but at first, I thought Mr. James would drive us to the party," I said.
"I had asked him for a ride for Sunday, but he said that he has to drive our mom and dad to a very important meeting and he has to pick up Richard from the airport--
Wait, wait, back up for a minute here, did I hear you correctly? Richard is coming back?" I asked, shocked.
"Yeah, Ms. James or Mr. James didn't tell you?" He asked.
"Of course not!" I said, overwhelmed.
"Well, anyway, so that means you're driving your car to the party and you don't mind if we tag along?" I asked.
"Of course not!" he replied.
"Okay, thanks, Lucas."
"Okay, see you later, sis. Oh, and let me know when dinner is ready, okay?"
"Alright."
"I closed my door and went back to the girls."
"Men, you and your brother are so civil to each other. I wish I was that close to my brother and sister," Abigail said.
"I couldn't agree more," Ava, Gab, and Clara said in agreement.
"Okay, girls, let me get my computers so we can brainstorm some ideas," I said, changing the subject. I went to my desk which was across from my bed that could easily fit four people. I took the computer from my desk and turned on the TV, screen-sharing my computer to the big TV. We started researching and within 10 minutes, we had ordered clothes that we would pick up at the mall tomorrow, which would save us time to get lunch tomorrow before my date.
"KNOCK, KNOCK!" "Come in!" I said. Ms. James came in, saying that dinner was ready. "Omg, it's already been 15 minutes, and look at my watch, it reads 8:45."
"Okay, we're coming down," I replied. "Okay, just let your brother know for me?" She asked as she closed the door. "Okay, I will." I got up just as the girls told Ava to breathe and try to stay calm when downstairs with my brother. Gabrielle opened the door, and the girls went downstairs as I went to knock on my brother's door.
"Knock, knock!" I knocked on Lucas's door. I heard nothing, then I opened his door peeping in. He had his phone in his hand and was playing his game. His room was as big as mine, had glow-in-the-dark stars, and unlike my room, it was a lot messier and darker. Although I have posters, he has a lot of posters of different things such as football players, singers, and other things he likes. I went to him and tapped him on the shoulder because I knew he couldn't hear me. As soon as he saw me, he took off his phone and said, "Dinner is ready?"
"Yes," I replied. "Okay," he got up and followed me out. While we went downstairs, I asked him, "Is that Fortnite?"
He looked at me like I was a fish out of water. "Yeah? Why? You play?" He asked.
"Of course, I play," I said.
"I am Headhunter," I said as we went down the stairs.
"Wait, wait, wait," he said, stopping on the third staircase. I looked at him and saw his jaw drop and said, "What, you don't believe that your sister can play Fortnite?"
"I mean, how didn't you tell me you were the queen of Fortnite? I've been trying to be on your level for ages," he said, still shocked.
"Well, I mean, I can teach you later my skills," I said.
"You bet!" He said as we got closer to the dining area where everyone was already sitting.
"My brother pulled out a chair for me and I sat down, saying "Thank you, brother." "You're welcome, sis," he replied. My brother then went and took a seat next to Ava, which was surprising given that there was an extra seat on the other side of the table. I silently looked at the other girls, who had the same look of surprise on their faces."
"Let's dig in," I said, and we started eating. After 20 minutes, we finished, and the maids cleaned the table. "Thank you very much," we said, and they bowed their heads.
I then asked, "Ms. James, do we have a punch cake bowl?" She replied, "Yes, actually, we do! Our favorite?" I looked at the girls and asked, "Yes, Chef Anthony has made a big bowl for you girls and for you, Lucas."
"Okay, thanks, Ms. James - but I also have a question for you. How come you didn't tell me that Richard was coming back?" I asked. "Dear me, I'm so sorry for not telling you, Theresa, but if you must know, he's coming to live with us for the remaining time of his high school years, and your parents were so kind enough to pay for his school fees," she replied. "That's great," I exclaimed.
Ms. James then went to get dessert for us. After five minutes, we were all sitting in the living room. I had promised my friends and brother that I would let them do my hair and makeup while I showed my brother what I could do on Fortnite. Let's just say I beat him three times in a row!
After the game, my hair was done, and the girls and I went to my room to do facials and nails. We then watched a movie and fell asleep.
On Saturday, June 1st in the morning, we all woke up one by one. Clara went to the bathroom while I went to the one next to hers. Abrigale used the guest bathroom next to my parents' room and Ava, who is not a morning person, stayed in bed. After I came out of the bathroom and put on clean clothes, I saw that Ava was still lying in bed but not sleeping. I told her that I was very hungry and would be going downstairs. She replied sleepily, "Okay." Before leaving the room, she reminded me not to touch my hair because we still had to do my makeup. I assured her that I wouldn't and headed downstairs.
Downstairs I was met with the smell of cooked pancakes, waffles, eggs, toast, Chocolate croissants, Donuts, cinnamon rolls, and many other things including different kinds of drinks.
I mean I am used to this so, it shouldn’t be that surprising I mean every day in this household it's like Thanksgiving.
It wasn’t until I got closer to the dinner table that I noticed that my mom, dad, and my brother were sitting at the table already eating and laughing about something that my brother said.
Good morning dear family I said
Good morning sis
Good morning sweetheart mom and dad said
How did you sleep?
I slept very well thank you
I'm grabbing a plate of pancakes and waffles, and putting some chocolate, whipped cream, and a cherry on top, just like I always do. I don’t know why, but I always have a big appetite, and the best thing is that I never gain weight.
"Yeah, honey, she's old enough, plus she kept her promise for 17 years that she wouldn't date any guys," Mom said.
"Fine, but you better be careful," he said to me.
"I will," I replied with relief. Dad turned to Lucas and said, "If that boy Chad or whatever his name is hurts your sister, you better give him a piece of your mind. You hear me, son?"
"Yes, sir!" Lucas replied.
"Good, Theresa. I want to meet him and get to know him. No boy will date my only daughter without me knowing who they are," Dad said firmly, while I looked at Lucas, feeling nervous.
"Okay, Dad," I replied.
As the girls entered the room, they greeted us with a "Good morning."
"Good morning, girls," my parents greeted them warmly.
The girls approached the table and exclaimed, "Wow!" I laughed as I watched them, amused by their fascination. Ava said, "We come here every day, but I don't understand why we still get surprised every time we see your meal plan. It's a mystery." She grabbed a plate of waffles, added syrup, butter, and whipped cream, and picked up a donut. But I could tell by the way she looked that she wanted more. Clara, Abrigail, and Gabrielle laughed at Ava's comment. As I ate my plate of sweet food, Clara and Abrigail went for anything sweet, while Gabrielle chose a breakfast with less sugar due to her family's genetic history of diabetes. Sometimes, we tease Gabrielle about her not eating anything sweet, but we always support her because we understand her family's health issues.
in front of that person.
My dad, who looked like he could use some sleep, asked us, "What's so funny, girls?" We both replied, "Nothing," and looked at each other again, laughing. Lucas, who is usually a big eater due to his football training, had leftovers on his plate. He looked at us and asked, "Why are you two laughing?" I replied, "Gabrielle and I finished our food while you guys still had your plates full. Plus, you guys look like you're ready to go to sleep like a bunch of bears." Everyone laughed at that comment. I looked at my watch, and it read 9:30 am. I said to the girls, "We better get ready since we know it will take extra hours at the mall, even though we pre-ordered our things." The girls followed suit, and my mom added, "Have fun girls, and I want to know all the details of your date, honey." My dad chimed in, "Yeah, me too."
"Come on, girls, let's eat," my dad said in a sudden change of tone.
I was surprised by his sudden shift in demeanor. Sometimes, he screams at me, and I can tell Lucas feels the same way, but other times, he's as sweet as cotton candy. I just try my best not to get on his bad side.
"Omg, sis, at this rate, you'll get diabetes," Lucas warned as he watched me take a chocolate croissant and a donut.
I laughed and said, "Come on, brother, you know that I balance my diet."
"Still, don’t say I didn’t warn you," he replied mockingly.
"Anyway, sweetheart, mom said..."
"Your brother told me this morning that you and he, along with your friends, are going to a pool party this Sunday. Is that true?" she asked.
"Yes, Mom and Chad Jordan also asked me out. "Wait, wait, Chad? That idiot finally asked you?" asked Lucas, shocked. "Yes, he did," I said, rolling my eyes."
"Well, that's great to hear, sweetheart," mom said excitedly.
"Hold on, Dad said, 'Who's Chad, and aren't you too young to be dating?'"
"Dad," I whined. "Don't Dad me."
"But I am 17," I said.
Yeah, honey, she's old enough, plus she kept her promise for 17 years that she wouldn't date any guys," Mom said.
"Fine, but you better be careful," he said to me.
"I will," I replied with relief. Dad turned to Lucas and said, "If that boy Chad or whatever his name is hurts your sister, you better give him a piece of your mind. You hear me, son?"

Gabrielle sat down and smiled as she picked up her fork and started eating her food. A few minutes later, I finished my food before anyone else, and I laughed to myself. Everyone else was too full to finish their plates. I looked at Gabrielle, and she looked at me, and we both started laughing.
