It was the commencement of another day. Alex woke up inside the cave. He was refreshed after getting a full night's sleep. After what happened at night, he had thought he wouldn't be able to sleep but he underestimated his body's need and perseverance.
After relishing the proteinaceous dinner, he entered the inner realm and did everything he had planned before yesterday. But the battle inside the inner realm was cruel. He got torn apart by thousands of wolves. It was the cruelest death ever and it was taxing to his mind which was running quite out of its comfort zone to adapt fast to the fast-changing situations.
But he gained another surprise. It was the perk he unlocked after the second level filled up. Alex came outside of the cave wearing the same clothes albeit tattered. He had cleaned the clothes and also remembered to take baths, so he looked fresh, but the condition of his apparel was telling the opposite.
Ignoring his half-naked body, he stood still for a moment, then motioning his body he sprinted ahead. Like a lightning bolt, he passed from one place to another in a second. It was the same power as those wolves. Alex had miraculously gained that power. It was the surprise he gained inside the inner realm.
He learned he could now learn any skills of anybody he had killed before. Yesterday, as he entered the golden palace inside the inner realm he found a shadow wolf there. He got cautious as it was the first time a monster appeared inside the palace but the wolf didn't attack him. It started showing him the skill. After his demonstration, that wolf disappeared.
Then suddenly, Alex felt as if that skill got imprinted inside his mind. As if he got enlightened after seeing the wolf demonstrating the skill. After some moments of hit and trial, he became proficient in the skill as if the skill was made for him. The skill boosted his maximum speed and also gave him a stealth like attribute albeit for a short duration during the movement.
It was a great surprise for him. He started to anticipate the possibility after all the levels in the bar filled with energy. He had noticed earlier that the energy-filling process had gotten slow after the filling of the second level. He would get amazing results in the future.
Getting a new skill in his arsenal, Alex prepared for another day of exploration and adventure. After his daily exercise routine and body chores finished, he ate some leftover meats and fruits gathered before. Having his stomach filled he felt energized. After making sure everything was prepared, he went ahead.
Along the same path, he slayed more slimes and three vagrant goblins. He swiftly arrived at the last point and started moving. With calculated steps and vigilant movement, he covered more distance. Suddenly, he heard loud howls and lots of growls coming from a distance ahead. It was evident that it was a fight between two different groups of monsters. With a quick pace, he arrived there and observed the situation.
In the heart of the dense forest, where shadows tangled with ancient trees, Alex stumbled upon an unfolding drama- a skirmish between a group of goblins armed with spears and blades, and a formidable pack of wolves. The air was charged with tension as the two forces clashed in a chaotic battle.
Crouching behind a thicket, Alex keenly observed the unfolding spectacle. The goblins, with their crude weapons glinting in the dazzling sunlight, formed a defensive circle, fending off the relentless advances of the agile wolf pack. The wolves, their fur bristling, moved with an orchestrated grace, darting in and out of the goblin's reach.
The goblins, though outnumbered, displayed a certain cunning in their coordinated defense. They jabbed their spears at the approaching wolves, forming a makeshift barrier against the relentless assault. However, the wolves, driven by a primal instinct, circled the goblins with relentless determination, gradually wearing down their defenses.
The forest echoed with the clashing of metal against fang and claw. Snarls and yelps reverberated through the trees as the battle waged on. The goblins, with their crude weaponry, held their ground valiantly, but the wolves, with their numerical advantage and nimble movements, slowly gained the upper hand.
As the fight unfolded, Alex contemplated his options. His gaze darted between the goblins and the wolves, assessing the dynamics of the confrontation. Gripping his spear, a surge of adrenaline coursed through him as he contemplated intervening in the ongoing struggle. The forest seemed to hold its breath, anticipating the moment when an unexpected participant would tip the scales of the encounter.
With a swift decision, Alex tightened his grip on the dual-wielded spears, each held firmly in his hands. The goblins and wolves were locked in a fierce struggle, creating a chaotic scene in the heart of the dense forest. Alex moved cautiously, using the natural cover to approach the battlefield.
As he drew closer, he noticed the goblins relying on their spears and blades, trying to fend off the agile and relentless attacks of the wolves. The wolves, on the other hand, utilized their numerical advantage and agility to weave through the goblin's defenses.
Alex took a moment to assess the situation, considering the strengths and weaknesses of both sides. He knew he had to act strategically to turn the tide in his favor. With a deep breath, he focused his energy and invoked the newly acquired Shadow Movement skill, the movement skill he got from the Shadow Wolf. And yes, he named it himself.
Suddenly, Alex's movements became a blur, a fleeting shadow darting through the forest. He aimed for the goblins first, swiftly closing the distance without being noticed. With precise strikes, he used the pointed tip of two spears and impaled two goblins on the ground ending their life for good.
Still holding the impaled spears, he scanned through the battlefield. He noticed the shocked faces of the remaining alive goblins and the cautious look in the eyes of wolves as they tried to guess the nature of the new participant.
He started to incapacitate the goblins one by one, taking advantage of their distraction. They were already disorganized after the attack. It ended so fast evident to the experience and fast reflexes of Alex.
The wolves, momentarily perplexed by the sudden intervention, redirected their attention towards Alex. He utilized his agility to evade their lunges, employing a combination of martial arts and well-timed spells. A Fireball here, an Aqua Jet there, and a swift Wind Slash- Alex seamlessly integrated his magical abilities into the combat.
The forest echoed with the sounds of battle as Alex continued to engage the wolves. His dual-wielding technique allowed him to parry incoming attacks while dealing calculated blows to his adversaries. The Shadow Movement skill added an element of unpredictability, making it challenging for his opponents to track his movements.
As the battle unfolded, Alex remained vigilant, adapting his strategy to the evolving dynamics of the conflict. The wolves, now facing an unseen and formidable adversary, began to falter. They were hesitating to attack.
In the midst of the chaos, Alex seized the opportunity to navigate the battlefield, exploiting the confusion to strike decisively. The wolves, overwhelmed and disoriented, fell one by one. The remaining wolves, recognizing a potent adversary, eventually retreated, leaving the forest to regain its temporary calm.
Breathing heavily, Alex stood amid the aftermath of the skirmish. The battlefield was now silent, and the shadows of the forest concealed his presence once more. He knew that surviving in this new world required mastering both the physical and magical aspects of combat. The memory of the battle would linger, a testament to his growing prowess in the unfamiliar realm.
It was just a moment of silence but soon howls and yelps reverberated throughout the forest. Navigating the source of sound Alex followed forgetting to collect the spoil of war. He used his skill and swiftly moved toward the noises.
After he reached the place of noise he halted and hid behind a big tree. There he saw a group of five humans, no, one of them wasn't human. He looked like a human, but he had long ears and a mesmerizing, beautiful face. Alex was surprised but still kept himself hidden as he observed the fight between the group and the pack of wolves. It wasn't a fight but a one-sided massacre. The wolves were the same who retreated behind during the fight with him.
Hidden behind the massive trunk of a towering tree, Alex observed the unfolding scene with a mixture of awe and trepidation. The atmosphere in the forest tensed as the two forces prepared for a clash.
The humans were clad in sturdy armor, each wielding weapons that gleamed with an otherworldly sheen. The elf, with an ethereal grace, stood among them, wielding a bow that seemed to meld seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Alex's heart raced as he realized the sheer power emanating from the group.
The first strike came swiftly. The lead human, wielding a massive sword, lunged at the nearest wolf with remarkable speed and precision. The blade cleaved through the air, meeting the wolf's resistance with a resounding clash. Simultaneously, another human unleashed a flurry of arrows, each finding its mark with unerring accuracy.
The elf, with an archer's finesse, skillfully aimed arrows at the wolves while effortlessly dodging their counterattacks. It became evident that this group had honed their combat coordination to a finesse edge, each member seamlessly complementing the others.
The wolves, caught between Alex's earlier assault and the relentless onslaught of the powerful group, fought valiantly but were gradually overpowered. The group of humans displayed not only physical prowess but also an array of magical abilities. Arcane energies crackled in the air as one of the humans conjured flames that engulfed a group of wolves, turning the battlefield into a chaotic inferno.
As the battle continued, Alex couldn't help but marvel at the efficiency and synergy displayed by the group. Spells of ice, bolts of lightning, and gusts of wind added layers of complexity to their attacks. The elf's arrows seemed to carry an enchantment of their own, finding weak points in the wolves' defenses with unerring accuracy.
Despite the wolves' fierce resistance, the outcome became increasingly apparent. One by one, the wolves succumbed to the overwhelming might of the group of these seasoned fighters. The forest, which had witnessed Alex's battles earlier, now bore witness to a display of power far beyond his own.
With the last wolf defeated, the humans and the elf regrouped. Their faces, adorned with expressions of triumph, concealed the secrets of their origin and purpose in this mysterious forest. Alex remained hidden, contemplating the newfound presence of the forces at play in this fantastical world.
As he continued the observation, he noticed one of the members of the group was missing. He started scanning around to find the missing person, but he couldn't find him anywhere.
'Where did he go? He was just right there but now where is he?'
As he was thinking about the missing member, he felt a presence behind him. Before he could look behind, he felt a sharp pain behind his head. Only with the sharp pain as his last memory, he lost consciousness.
