Farroth’s POV:
“That damned half blood, thinking he is all that.” I complained as I clutched my shoulder
Why could I never beat him? My father was the chief of the village. I’m the strongest out of everyone. So why did I feel so inferior to that brat? He is even the son of an angel. I thought to myself as I walked back home.
My father just got back from a meeting when I was sitting putting on some bandages. “What happened Farroth?” My Father snapped at me.
“That damn bastard.” I yelled at him.
“Was it those damn Ashcroft’s again?” he asked.
“Yeah, the son Orion attacked me for no reason.” I lied.
“Ooh I’m gonna kill them.” He snapped. “This is the last time my son comes home injured.”
“Ooh we should.” I egged him on.
My father had a look that I’ve never seen, he was pissed. He motioned me to follow him and stormed out of the house.
We were walking for a few hours, miles away from the town there was a small cave torches were lined up on the wall burning a bright reddish orange. The light was dim and the long cave hallway slowly turned into a more man made structure
We were walking for quite some time before we made it to a cave. It was a distance away from the village, there were torches along the wall of the cave that dimly lit the entrance. He didn’t answer but walked in a few feet before turning to a wall.
He grabbed a certain part of the wall and bright red lightning surrounded his hand and started to strike the rocks. The wall started to shake as the wall started to move.
“This is the Lionel’s sacred ground.” He answered as he went into the cave. “Only those who have lighting can enter this part of the mine, and we are the only demons with lightning.”
It was dark and in the distance, there was an ominous purple glow. Drawn to it I started to walk towards it. I got to the ominous glow, and it was a knife with weird Nordic runes scribed on the blade and the hilt. The knife was a long sacrificial looking dagger that was black and the runes glowing purple.
“Grab it Farroth, then sacrifice some blood to it.” He instructed.
I was already reaching for it, I grabbed the hilt and slit the palm of my hand. A warm feeling came from my hand and was absorbed into the dagger. The runes started to glow brighter, and I started to feel stronger, my nose started to heal too. Craving more power, I stabbed the middle of my hand, but nothing happened. I started to laugh. “Hehe. This will be enough to put that bastard in the grave.”
“Let’s go.” My father sounded from behind me. “Be careful with that power. Instead of mana it drains your life force.”
I couldn’t hear him as my ears started ringing, my sight started to get blurry but then it got even better than before. I turned to my father but he was already half way out of the cave.
I started to walk towards the entrance of the cave when something shiny embedded into the wall caught my eye. I reached for it but a small shield made of some sort of mana protected it.
I dug into the wall to grab the ring, it was a glowing purple ring with intricate runes glowing a bright white. I put the ring on and tried to stab my hand, and a shield encased my hand protecting it from the blade.
I smirked as gripped the handle of the blade, it fit perfectly in my hand almost as if it was made for me. There was no way in hell that I was losing now.
***
I walked up the hill hoping that I would find Orion still reading his little diary, after around 10 minutes of walking around I felt a faint trace of mana, I followed the trace and found a secluded area hidden behind bushes and under a tree that half blood sleeping while his younger sister was sitting there meditating.
I couldn’t feel any mana coming off of her, HA the bitch can’t use magic. I laughed quietly.
I would walk up to her quietly and punch her in the solar plexus, she gasped for air but I covered her mouth before punching her in the temple knocking her out. She collapsed to the ground and I looked at Orion who was still passed out up against the tree, the gods had to hold me back from just killing him then and there, but I had to get him back, for years of beating I got from him.
I chuckled to myself as I picked her up and slung her over my shoulder. Walking down the path that I made. Part one of the plan complete.
As I got to the village people were looking at me weird, as I had the Ashcrofts daughter unconscious over my shoulder. “Hey why do you have her?!” Someone yelled and approached me.
He reached for me but I swatted his hand away. I used to much strength and shattered the bones in his hand. He yelled in pain and fell to the ground clutching his broken hand. The village guards rushed over after hearing the commotion. “What happened!” The guard barked at me.
I rolled my eyes. “Filth.” I said to my said as I waved him off, as a purple lightning bolt struck the ground killing the guard. I smirked as the sound echoed through the mountains.
I alone am the honored one.
Snapping my fingers a blaze of crimson flames erupted out of the ground as lightning struck the ground killing anyone within a 5 meter radius of the impact. I looked at Aiden and his brother, they looked at me not with fear but with disappointment. “Go stall Ashcroft.” I ordered them,
They hesitated, almost thinking about who they feared the most before they started towards the hill that Orion was sleeping at.
I looked around at the Lessers and scoffed, no one can even compete with me I raised my hand in the air and a meteor shower of purple fire balls came falling from the sky hitting buildings and people I aimed a majority towards Ashcroft’s house hopefully killing his family.
Orion’s father bursted out the front door carrying his wife who was missing half of her face and an arm. He looked around to see the fallout that was happening before locking eyes with me. I smirked at the pained look in his eyes.
“What’s wrong Mr. Ashcroft?” I mocked. “The Mrs’ turn to ash?”
I laughed as he slowly put her down and kissed her forehead. He looked at me with pure rage and honestly, it made me feel giddy. He rushed at me but he was too slow, and weak. When he got to me he swung his fist wildly in a panicked rage. Swatting them away effortlessly.
Grabbing his arm I snapped his bone in half and kneed him in the chest sending him flying into the nearest wall. He coughed up a pool of blood, he got up. I could tell I broke a few of his ribs he was barely able to stand clutching his ribs.
I snapped and everything within a forty meter radius erupted in purple flame, he tried to dodge but he was to weak to jump out of the way and flames scorched the left half of his body. “Is that it?” I yelled mockingly. “The Father of the all powerful prodigy, is just a weak old man?” I laughed.
I walked over as he was on one of his knees coughing. “Get up.” I looked at him with disgust. “Get up!” I demanded kicking him in the side.
“What a sad display.” I walked away as a lightning bolt struck him in the heart killing him.
I looked at his wife who drew her last breath only moments before. It was at this moment I felt a rush of murderous internet from behind me. Looking behind me I could see Orion dragging only what I could assume was Kael’s dead body by the arm. His armor was in tatters and he was missing his head from what I could see from over here.
He looked at me with such a cold gaze you would think he was able to control ice. I looked back at him. “Little boy wonder, finally joining the party?” I yelled to him.
He stayed quiet, I couldn’t quite tell the face he was making, because of his bangs draping over his face.
“I already killed your parents!” I laughed. “Your sisters next!”
He continued to walk forward everything within a 10 foot radius of him bursted into black flames, he left a path of molten rock after every foot step. I raised my hand to strike lightning down.
He waved it off like it was nothing, completely nullifying the attack. He glanced behind me to see his sister collapsed covered in dirt, mud and blood. He took a slow breath before looking at me.
His eyes were a cold winter blue as they pierced right through me, I instinctively took a step back. Was I afraid of him? No I can’t be, it's just Ashcroft a half blood.
He took another step towards me and my body froze everything around seemed to have stopped. Everyone was gathered around us but was far enough not to be in immediate danger. “Farroth.” It was the only word to come out of his mouth and I felt nauseous.
It was like an icy hand was gripping my insides pulling and twisting. His voice was dead tone but had a certain aura to it that made everyone around us crumpled to their knees. “Ha, you think that is enough to scare me?” I scoffed. “What a weak display of power.” Confident in my tone of voice I stepped forward.
“I thought of you as a nuisance, one deemed unworthy to kill, like a bug in the jungle, but even now and then a hunter has to swat at a mosquito every now and then.” He said taking a step forward as if challenging me.
That bastard was comparing me to a bug, no he actually thought of me as nothing more than a mosquito. He started to walk towards me, his footsteps seemed to have matched with my heart beat. He was only five or so meters away from me.
I lunged at him as crimson flames coalesced around my blade as I drew it out of its sheath. I arced my blade towards his right shoulder, he quickly sidestepped and grabbed my blade mana surrounding his hand protecting it.
I tried to pry my sword from his hand, but his grip strength was insane. He crushed the iron sword shattering it. I kicked him in the chest, but it was as if I kicked a stone wall. “Is that all?” He asked, grabbing my leg.
He picked me up and tossed me into the nearest wall. I flew through the wall coughing up blood. Shit, shit, shit!
Was I losing? No I can’t be. I looked at my hand and it was shaking? Was I scared? Of him, Orion?
I took a deep breath, no it can’t be he must’ve messed up my nerves or something.
I stood up brushing off the dust and looked at the hole I made in the wall. He was walking slowly but at a constant pace, I couldn’t quite make out the expression he was making but I could tell he was pissed.
He turned to where his sister was and started to walk in that direction. He knelt down and picked up his sister and listened to see if there was a heartbeat. I wasn’t too sure if she was alive or not but I didn’t care all that much. It looked like he sighed from relief before bringing his sister to lean against a wall.
I tried to strike him with lightning once more now that he was distracted. In that instant the loud crack of lightning, but it didn’t hit him but me? I was sent flying backwards throwing up a massive pool of blood on the floor. There was a hole in my left shoulder. I couldn’t feel the left side of my body.
Did he catch the lightning bolt and throw it at me?
Not even my father could do that. Was he stronger than my father?
