Chapter 2: Altor

Makino turned his head to his back to see the horror that destroyed everything in the whole world. The one that destroyed his life. The these three beings of terror are here in this room, dominating the whole room with their presence. They are also a sight to behold, Makino can't help but to admire them too. Heights larger than an ordinary Magistoid. Much larger. Their armor frames are of intricate designs compared to the rigid armor of every Magistoid in their commands. Colours vibrant in them of blue, green and red with glowing lines flowing to their whole bodies, indicating of rich magic. Each colour of the Rex Reguluses had indicated their mastery of different kinds of magic, Makino thought in his mind as he observed them. But that was cut short when he sees what is in the hands of one of them. A limping figure starting to be devoid of life.

"Bleargh!!!"

"Hi-Hibino!!!" Makino screamed. The other Rex Reguluses also revealed what's in their hands, the ones remaining alive of the human factions of the team, including Goto, which looks worse for wear, as he is also spitting blood as Hibino did. The Magistoid guards also entered the room holding the broken down bodies of Ventugi and Ardugo, each of them lost an arm and a leg, leaking golden ambrosia, their magical lifeblood that allows them access to all magic.

It's a horrific scene to behold.

Makino's stomach curled into knots along with his mind, in total terror and horror.

"Hibino. Hibino!!"

"Uup. That's the only step you can make now, little one or you wanted to see them in a gush of their lifebloods." Arcturis Rex Regulus, the oldest of them said with stride in his voice, mixed with the aura of terror.

"Which looks so disgusting. How could you live with that kind of scum flowing within you, along with very soft body and parts that pop when being squeezed enough. Just disgusting!" Betenduris Rex Regulus exclaimed in total disgust and didn't masked it in eloquence his older brother presented.

"I told you Betenduris, still have stride and eloquence. We have to maintain it as befitting of our status. Even that said, these humans are really disgusting and horrible as you said." Mandagus Rex Regulus reprimanded his brother with a cold, calculating tone that befits his intelligence and being the Second in command.

Anger should be the emotion that supposed to arise within Makino, but the sight of his allies in almost beyond broken state was overwhelming him with fear.

"Stand up nicely and face us upfront. We won't saying it again." Arcturis Rex Regulus threatened him as he started to hold Hibino ever so tightly if he didn't complied immediately.

"No. Stop!!!" Makino fearfully stood up fearfully and faced them in the eye.

"Well, what a plan you concocted here, it commendable. Its astonishing to see that this plan could really work. But-" Arcturis continued.

"There's one flaw here. Us. Our levels are just over on the top, you couldn't possibly think that you can best us. Only if, the plan was not to win against us." Arcturis concluded.

"Blowing up the Regulus Core. That was a totally crazy but albeit effective way to totally defeat us. Who could've taught these parasites can be that suicidal just to get away from us. Hilarious." Betenduris sadistically chuckled.

Mandagus hold Goto up in his hands. "Now just gently put down the bomb on the floor. We will not ask you again." He coldly said.

"Ack!! Do-don't kid!! Dont do it. These monsters would not spare y-you even if you did. Ev-even just you. Just you to-to live- Ack!!!!" Goto said as he continually spitting blood.

"Hm. You are such a tenacious one. You have to be quite a warrior for your pitiful species." Mandagus started to slowly tighten his grip on Goto, making him to spit more blood.

"No!!!!! Please!!!!!"

Makino gently put down the bomb and slowly stayed away from it crying and sobbing.

"Thank you for your cooperation, little one." Arcturis said.

"Well, what are we gonna do with these things? We should throw them immediately in the trash. And how about that little one over there? Maybe I should take him as my pet."

"Betenduris, little patience, my little brother. We will have a consensus pretty soon-" Arcturis' words cut cut off by a rumble from the injured Ardugo, clawed his from the guard that holds him. Ventugi did the same with now a fierce look his face, breaking his usually calm facade.

"Rex Regulus!!! If you think that you can still do all of these atrocities whenever you wanted, we will never go quietly!!!! He- every human being will be not your toys to play with just like what you did to all of us!!!!"

Ardugo readied his hands for one final magic spell along with Ventugi.

"We will never let you hurt him!!! As long as ambrosia still flow in our-" Ventugi's fierce outburst is cut off with an another display of horror.

Fwoosh!!!! Crackle!!!!
Whoosh!!!! Crumble!!!!

Ardugo and Ventugi's bodies crumbled from what it looks like a combination of ice and wind and fire and lightning. Just like ash being swept away by the wind.

Terror incarnate are them.

Makino was also shocked with the terror of their prowess being shown to everyone.

"Now little one, this is how we are. Hopefully you would understand the fate that was bestowed to you all. Under us or dead. Apparently they wanted you to live so maybe you could lived as our personal pet, just as my younger brother siggested" Arcturis coldly conveyed to Makino, silent in terror.

"Speaking of which, what are gonna do with the other humans in hands? All of them are leaking too much and quite mushed. Its really disgusting!" Betenduris grossly reach his hands away that holds the humans they captured.

"You are right in your concern, little brother. These humans are not worth anything and can't be put into usefulness to us." Mandagus concluded his thoughts on these matters.

The terror in the eyes of the humans in the rooms started to get more heated as they know what would be the next from these sequence of events, especially Makino.

"Maki-no~" Hibino weakly wheezed.

"Ki-d you- ha-d to live~" Goto followed in the same manner. Every human they captured weakly wheezed to him and to the fate that they will endure.

"Hi-Hibino!!! Everyone!!!!!" Makino sobily cried.

"Then it's a vote then."

"Noooo!!!!!!"

Splat!!!! Crack!!! Crackle!!! Fwooom!!!! Fwoosh!!!! Crumble!!!!!

And that, in a matter of seconds, all of the captured, gone.....

Makino kneels down, devastated.

"Dont you worry. They wanted to live, we will gonna let you. You are now our personal pet. Please come to us carefully or else." Betenduris chastised him.

Little that they know, something swelling up inside of Makino even more than what he felt earlier.

"demons"

"What did you say?" Betenduris asked.

"DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!"

Makino fastly leaped to the bomb that was several inches to him, but he was fast enough to caught all of off guard.

He slammed the bomb so hard it activated. The bomb was actually easy to activate, as it required only a physical force of a punch the size of a human hand to activate it. It was the spell put into by his Magistoid comrades for this very moment.

Vooom!!!!!!!

It send a magical surge that managed to paralyze any Magistoid in the area, including all of the Rex Reguluses. The glass case protecting the Regulus Core shattered due to the surge.

"Wha- what is this!!!!" Arcturis angrily asked on what is happening.

"Thi-this is- it's a magical surge that inhibits any magic in our ambrosia to flow. It can also disrupt the integrity of any things that is infused with magic." Mandagus assessing the situation.

"What!!!! You have got to be kidding!!!! This pests have that kind of magical tool!! I oughta gonna crush-" Betenduris angrily yelled the threat.

This was the real plan.
Makino, with a smirk forming in his face, then made mad dash to the still floating core in the middle of the room, enacting the final components of the plan they built over the months with his Father. 

Arriving at the core, from his vest jacket he pulled a lone grenade, leftover from the fight earlier, with the intention of blowing up the Regulus Core, the source of all the Magistoids' magic.

Creak!!!!

A creaking sound was heard and Makino looked back to see where it is. It is coming from the Rex Reguluses, trying their best to move an inch, not wanting him to succeed at the plan at all costs.

"Y-you will gonna pay for this with your life!!!"

"Shredding your body.... slowly will.... definitely be a fitting punishment for your insolence that.... you have brought into us..."

"I.... will enjoy roasting you several times.... you stinky pest!!!!"

Creak!!! Creak!!!

As expected of the Rex Reguluses, they proved to be the apex of the strength of magic as even with a magical surge that was painstakingly crafted to immobilized the ambrosia flowing within a Magistoid, they still managed to move bit by bit with great effort and they might caught up to Makino in about two minutes. But that was ample time he had.

"Yeah? Sorry you cant do those when you all are rotting in hell. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! This is what you've given us and now you will have a taste of the Hell Express!!!" Makino tauntingly mocked the approaching Magistoids.

Cling!!!

And that is. That pull if the pin of the grenade is what Makino need. As he wait for the 30 second time limit, he started to reminisce of the time he had with all the comrades he had over these years. His father, who fought with his all of his might as the leader of the resistance, for the safety of his family and comrades, but even when everything is crummy,  he's still has that positive attitude. How he missed it. But then, they claimed his life. His life became much more of a black hole then ever before. But Hibino and Goto still managed to pull him up even a little from the darkness. Stern, gruff, but still caring for me. For all of us.

All the suffering they've been. All the struggles. He reminisces all the sacrifices they've made for this very moment. He cried uncontrollably at the thought and now starting to go in peace, as all is gonna be over. He hugged at the core with the grenade at his hand, the Rex Reguluses still having distance over him. And then,

Flash!! Boom!!!!!

It just became silence for him and dark.

He felt a bit cold. He felt like he is floating in the air. There is darkness all over him. He thought this is maybe the afterlife. But then, a glint catches his eye below.

Then he looked below. There is bright blue light. He looked at it. It was a beautiful hue of blue. Maybe it was heaven. But there's something familiar to that light.

"That light. Where did I-"

But then, he felt a pull. More on that he was being pulled down. Down to the light. He screamed as he is being inundated by the ever glowing light as he is being pulled into it.

"Who said that!?"

He heard a voice saying a word to him. A word he started to comprehend now.

"Altor"

"Wha-"

Then, he is bathed in the extreme light as he falls and falls and then....

Fade out. It all fades to black.

The voice said another set of words. Words that will have purpose in the future Makino will now face.
