The boys exiting the home, waved back to Sanya. Abhishek also coming out of the home and looking right over the wall to the street where his son and his son’s best friend is walking going to school.
Fushi says, “So you want to be called by your name again before afternoon? Well, your mom did say not to do that so I will stick to it-“
“Please just don’t. I get it, I will wake up earlier.” Said the boy.
Fushi goes on, “I will call you by your name if you let me tell about it in class. It’s a deal.” They take a turn to left.
The boy says sighing, “Fine.”
“Welp, you sighed, you will have to stick with Arthur for the first period.”
“Uh, come on!” cried out the boy being called Arthur.
The boy flung his bag towards Fushi in retort.
At the same time, while for the boy and Fushi’s body, time didn’t flow but in his mind, Fushi activated his basic form manifest and created a mental image of a simple eight layered inert energy shield construct behind his back and curved the mental image a little to accommodate for his moving left arm.
Suddenly a translucent light orange short sled type construct appeared right behind Fushi’s back blocking that simple easy-to-block-with-just-a-straight-back bag attack. Fushi showed off his tongue to the boy.
The boy said, “Really? You wanna show off.”
Fushi replied with an affirmative, ”Yes.”
And Fushi ran forward turning back and saying, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Arthur Leywin.”
The nearby two ladies talking to each other looked towards them in confusion, mouthing ‘What?’
The boy shaking his head in childishness of his best friend, proceeds to picking up speed and sprinting behind Fushi about to catch him, Fushi exclaims, “Woops! Gotta run or we will be late.” “Now you will get these hands before school!”
They both now, sprinting, one is running away from his assailant, the other just playing along with his friend. Approaching the local metro station New Sun city underground Station to which they have been sprinting towards.
Time shown on the station is 8:28 AM. They will be late to school is what’s running on the boy’s mind.
Both of them go through the metro security-cum-ticketing doors with their metro cards of Raipur. Both paying the basic fee for train for Raipur metro with the balance in their cards.
The boy catches up to Fushi because of the doors as Fushi was looking up at the metro time table. The boy slaps the back of Fushi’s head.
“That was for earlier.” Slapping again, “this one for not having figured out which one we are getting on.”
Fushi opens his mouth and then closes it, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head to his friend’s childishness. “There are three trains, one leaves at 8:30, the other two at 8:33 simultaneously.”
The boy looks up and sees the names of the ones he mentioned, ‘New Sun city-PS city-Avanti Vihar’, ’New Sun city-Pandri-Avanti Vihar’, and ‘New Sun city-Professor Colony-Avanti Vihar.’
“We can’t take the Pandri one as it will become crowded”, said the boy. And he looked to his left seeing his friend has already boarded the same train he is saying not to board, he face palms, again.
Following his best friend boarding the train as his friend is smiling towards him.
“I have to write something in my diary, so got to keep things interesting. Understand the hearts of my readers”, says Fushi giving a poker face like a businessman. The boy giving his friend a challenge and gives him a ‘not moved’ poker face.
The boy thinks ‘100 points for stupidity’.
Both of them sit down on the seats next to the door. “So, both of them are coming back tomorrow right?”, asks Fushi. “Yeah, that’s what they told me last night,” replied the boy.
For the rest of the ride to Avanti Vihar both of them didn’t say much other than pointing out a cute girl they spotted in the same cabin and a hot girl on the Pandri metro station. Fushi during the train ride to Avanti Vihar updated his diary entry, while the boy plugged in his earphones to listen to a few songs until the station comes.
While the train read as ‘New Sun city-Pandri-Avanti Vihar’, it does stop on other lesser stations in between for a minute, only two more unmentioned stations of Professor colony, this one just being a train driver changing station, and the station of Anand Nagar.
The metro reached Avanti Vihar station, someone always like always says this out of nowhere when it comes to Avanti Vihar station, ‘you will always here someone in the crowd saying, “Arre, jaldi utro bhai movie choot jayegi varna.”
{Translation: “Hey, get off on this station faster or I’ll miss the movie.”}
Always referring to a movie being played in magneto mall. A truth accepted by every Raipurian, ‘if there is light at Magneto Mall, there is a movie being played in one of the cinema halls.’
The saying and this dialogue always goes hand in hand. Except whenever there was a war. Not once has a movie being shown during any of the world wars and magic-manifest wars since 2028 AD, when the third world war started according to historians.
Both of them along with a crowd got off, the boy called out,”Fushi! Fushi!” Fushi tapped on his shoulder from his right as he saw his friend frantically searching for him in the crowd coming in.
Fushi points to his hand and the boy’s hand, “I created a small rope energy construct. I won’t be losing my dog today.” He held back his laugh with a failure.
The boy raised his eyebrow to his friend’s remark and said, “let’s go, we still need to walk to school.”
“Aww, man. Can’t we take an auto ride?”
“Nope, I won’t do it for school, and I still want to follow what we were taught so that I do develop my manifest.”
“Ok”, said Fushi.
“By the way, how did you lose today to my sister?”
“Ah, that was nothing. She just first drew her wooden sword and used aura to slice through my ‘Nice’ manifest projectiles I shot at her, then she exerted her aura outwards at aura rate within lower range D level and my lightning spell shattered on my hand even before I could implement my ice spell I had calculated.”
“And then?”
“And then what? She proceeded to hit me with an aura infused blade with the sharper side to pounce me down. And that’s how I ended up on the floor with the body aching from the aura fluctuations she induced in me.” Fushi sighed.
“Noted. Did you mention that in your diary?” asked the boy faking innocence.
“I, uh, yeah”, said Fushi looking towards the side onto the grass field as they have already walked out of the station at the start and now are on the road to school.
“Really?” asked the boy.
“Ok, yeah, I might have not put in the pain correctly but still I did write how I lost, and I still just gave you a minimum rundown”, said Fushi.
“Yeah, that will work with me, not your diary readers, even if I am one of them.”
“Fine, I will correct it.”
“Good, and we just crossed the half way mark. Are you able to keep up?” asked the boy.
Fushi said, “of course, you are the one who is taking this walk more seriously. Well, given your reasoning that’s correct but still. Are you?”
“Of course I am, what about you?” the boy picking up on his friend’s snide and rhetoric.
“Yes, yes, I know you are able to but really are you?”
“Oh, of course, skipping this ‘I-know-you-know’ joke, why do you still call your manifest as ‘Nice’? Isn’t it just inert energy construct manifest?”, said the boy.
“Fushi the mighty with his immaculate knowledge is going to answer your question boy, and the answer is, yeah nope I got no other name till now.” Fushi goes on, “I just got the manifest a year and three months ago, and have only opened my flow state form recently. I am rather first understanding it than naming it.”
“So how are you defining it ‘Nice’ to your readers?”
“Well, I just wrote I call it ‘Nice’ manifest because inert in chemistry can also be referred as noble so I call it Noble Energy Construct or ‘NEC’ or ‘Nice’. Simple and straight.”
“Fair enough”, said the boy.
As they reached the final stretch to the school, the cherry blossoms leading to school gate planted by the school’s passout who died in the sixth world war, not found in India but imported here from Japan and exclusively maintained by school and locals in memory of the students, even in conditions not for them.
The cherry blossoms are on full bloom in this early april, while it’s true cherry blossoms bloom and thrive in India but not the ones in front of these two, the ones they are looking on while walking towards school, were brought from Japan and are especially maintained by some old teachers in the school. After all, they were brought by the students who died, they just wanted to see these trees in their neighborhood.
Both of them becoming silent and being entranced by the trees, looks at them with eyes filled with wonder. They reach the school gate. The guard requests them to show their school ID, and they do with no problems entering their school.
