A/N: Just like to say that chapters are scheduled either for one or two weeks after release of a new one; if I go on a short break I'll announce it, thank you!
—START—
"Aalet!" Etta screamed at the sight of blood on Aalet's hands, she brought up her hands to her head out of shock.
"What?" he replied confused.
"Smells good!" Rumire licked her lips to the smell of blood.
"Please don't do that Rummy." Aalet stroked her hair with his hands still slightly bloody.
"What did you do?" Etta panicked.
"Taught those delinquents from your uncle's shop earlier a lesson." he simply replied.
Etta slightly lowered her hands.
"What did they do?"
"I got my hands on the chicken for a deal!" he took out the tray and showed the label which read '6 Rupes' crossed out and '3 Rupes' next to it, "And they tried to take it from me."
Etta crossed her arms and tilted her head.
"But that's not like you, you wouldn't get mad over someone trying to take away your stuff, I've seen you keep calm when that happened before." she stared confused.
Aalet pauses giving a moment of thought before quickly replying.
"Maybe I was feeling a bit different that moment." he shrugged his shoulders, "Just towards a group of three misbehaving young men."
Etta observes Aalet once more, from bottom to top before letting go of her arms and sighing.
"Just please don't attack them again."
"You know the deal." he said putting back the tray of chicken in the bag.
"Right." she grabbed Rumire by the hand who was not focused on the conversation at all but played with her teddy bear throughout, "Let's get the groceries checked out."
The three walk out the aisle and head over to the self checkout.
Upon exiting the store the three are stopped by a strangely dressed man. He wears a red cap with the word "ZWAG", has short dark-brownish hair and black sunglasses; he wears a white shirt under a jacket - magenta on the left and yellow on the right - unzipped and cyan cargo pants with blue shoes on the left and green on the right; he has a blue bracelet on his right arm and red on the left.
"wassup everybody? how we doin?" the man spoke in a strange slurred way, yet it was clear as to what he was saying. Aalet, Etta and Rumire stare at the man confused as his appearance was sudden.
"Who are you?" Etta politely asked.
"i'm da dj dat plays da music for all da events dat happen, and i'm here to invite you guys to a party!" he exclaimed, "call me khaled!"
Aalet and Etta stare at each other before returning their attention to the seemingly young man in odd attire.
"Your clothes are an eyesore." Aalet said.
Silence was the only thing occupying the space and along with it was awkwardness; the two young men stared into the glasses of each other, until either would speak.
"so you guys trynna come over to the party or nah? it's tomorrow and i'm hostin in honor of nirain!"
Etta looks down at the ground and places her hand on the back of her head indicating she felt confused.
"I don't know, we've currently got a child with us-" she was cut off before she got to finish speaking.
"don't worry bout dat, we got a children's area, your kid'll definitely enjoy it!" Khaled looks down at Rumire and goes to pat her head but hesitates as he notices blood on her hair, "i honestly think it's pretty dope to have a father!" he smiles at Rumire handing over two invites into her small free hand, "anyway, i'm out, see ya lot tomorrow!" he says before glaring at Aalet.
Khaled leaves and disappears from the vision of everyone further confusing the them.
"He only gave us two." Aalet stated.
Rumble~
"Well I have something to do tomorrow anyways, you should take the invitation instead!" Etta smiled.
"I'm not going." Aalet firmly replied.
"Oh come on, Aalet - this is the perfect opportunity for not just Rumire to make friends, but for you to see what it means to be a human!" Etta implied.
Aalet stops and lets go of Rumire's hand.
"I don't care..." his head lowers to the floor for a brief moment before he raises it, "I'm above all these worthless things." the red of his hair glows for a brief moment and returns to normal.
"Uh..." Rumire tugs at the leg of Aalet trying to calm him down, but he seemed too overwhelmed to even notice.
"Come on Aalet, you don't mean that." she placed her hand on his shoulder only for it to get pushed away.
"I do, you humans complete these tasks that will never matter in the next hundreds of years, rolling a boulder you could say." Aalet said.
Etta stared blankly into Aalet, as if he was another person.
"What are you saying all of a sudden?" Etta asked.
"Hmm." Rumire seemed confused as to why she was not gaining the attention of Aalet, she got up close and then noticed why, "Nothing."
"Huh?" Etta looked back at Rumire a bit confused.
Rumire bit into Aalet, at least what was supposed to be him, and upon contact he disappeared.
"Gone..."
"Hmm, makes sense why he started spouting nonsense." Etta sighed.
The sound of sniffing sounded from Rumire's nose as she turned her attention to the way in which the oddly dressed young man left.
"Over there!" Rumire tugged at Etta's leg pointing at the direction she was now facing.
—WITH AALET AND KHALED—
"Hey!" Aalet shouted, getting the attention of Khaled.
"ah, so you found me out red boy?" Khaled turned around with his hands in his pockets.
Aalet walked up to him carrying a cold feeling of animosity on his back; Khaled slowly brought out his hands but still hiding them in his pockets.
"you got a problem with me?" he tilts his sunglasses to the ground exposing his eyes, they didn't seem like normal human eyes, it was as if they were simple circles chicken scratched onto his face, "i know you do." his left eye glows purple, "spirit of ambivalence..."
Khaled stares into the eyes of Aalet and in response his right eye slightly leaks black bile.
"How are you today, Kaleido?" Aalet says putting on a smile, the weight on his shoulders dropped.
"wait, how do you know my name-"
At that moment, Aalet swung his fist only for it to be easily evaded and leave him with an opening on his side - Khaled goes in for an attack himself but backs off last second.
"What's wrong?" Aalet advances into Khaled's range, "You think reading my next move will hinder the fact I can read yours?"
Khaled, hearing the words come out of Aalet's mouth, put on a smile - but it was obvious he was slowly being backed into a corner with less options by the second and the pressure was getting to him.
"Shouldn't have read my mind the second I confronted you!" Aalet laughs lightly before grabbing the arm of his victim and pulling them into a knee to the face.
CRACK-#
It connected, the knee landed square on Khaled's nose, but it didn't seem to have an affect on him - no blood trickled down his face nor did he wear any expression other than the same smile.
"you're weak!" Khaled said while throwing his broken shades to the side; taking out a new pair from the interior of his jacket and putting them on, "don't you know controlling a human makes you as strong as them?"
Khaled stomped the ground sending a pulse of electricity towards Aalet, he was hit, the energy entered his system and due to the sudden shock he couldn't help but stand still. The young man approached his victim, picked him up and brought him close so that he could talk into his ear..
"dis never happened, capiche?" Khaled whispered to Aalet.
"Watch your mouth, eyesore!" Aalet's left eye lit up red.
He gripped the shoulder of Khaled's jacket and stepped into the gap of his legs preparing to throw him to the ground, but as the two stood by each other the sound of footsteps struck them still.
"What are you two doing?" yelled Etta.
The familiar voice rung through the ears of Aalet and Khaled and so they let go of each other swiftly, but they kept their glares: Aalet grit his teeth; Khaled grinned.
"it's nothing broski- i mean girl, just a bit a banter you feel me?" spoke Khaled, "so 'bout dat party, you trynna step?" he smiled.
"Well uh..." Etta hesitated, but regained composure, "I have to work extra tomorrow, so I won't be able to make it, John will take my place and bring Rumire along." she places her hand on both Aalet and Rumire's shoulder.
Aalet continues his gaze into Khaled; Rumire just smiles.
"ugh, fine, whatevs; just don't be a party pooper red boy." Khaled leaves this time seeming to actually disappear into the distance and not so suddenly as last time.
Once the DJ had left the three alone they all silently agreed to forget about what happened between Aalet and Khaled and continue their journey home. They left the town and head over to the city of Niryiak. The trip was short and before they knew it they were in front of the door to their residence.
"We're home!" Etta exclaimed before opening the entrance.
The house housed warmth which immediately warmed the three altogether after being battered by the strong autumn wind, which could induce a cold. Etta stuck her head out the door and observed everything in sight and before entering she poked the attention of Aalet by grabbing his shoulder.
"I feel as though we're being followed." Etta told Aalet in a worried tone.
Aalet in response to Etta's utterance pushed both Rumire and Etta into the house with force and poked his own head out the door.
"A man and woman, both look quite old and seem to be wearing white coats?" Aalet muttered to himself.
The two figures in the distance retreat into the distance leading to Aalet to grow suspicious, but his suspicions soon die down as he enters into his home and closes the door behind.
—WITH THE TWO INDIVIDUALS—
Both individuals continue walking.
The man has a mix of black and white hair, but there is more white than black, his eyes are a lifeless, darkish-brown; the woman has white hair in a bun with some hair still leaning on the back of her neck, she has orange eyes with bags beneath and wears black and orange circular glasses; both wear a white coat, one that a doctor would wear - sleeves rolled up - with a white shirt underneath, a pair of black trousers and black formal shoes.
"They seem to be sheltering a monster, a humanoid one at that." the man states.
"They don't seem like bad people!" the woman inserts.
"Yes, you are right about that." the man clenches his fists and reopens them, "Let's go now, Bernadette."
"Aye aye, Field Marshal Alban!" she mockingly saluted and let out a laugh.
"Do you really have to say my name like that?" he stopped walking and moaned in annoyance.
"Come on, it's just a joke, can't be referring to you as your forged name." she too halted.
The man sighed before resuming his walk.
"Anyway, the young man himself had odd features..." he scratches his chin.
"Well when the three walked past the 'Silent Monstra and Human Detector' it did not activate when he stepped past it, confusing honestly." she catches her breath, "We are certain that the young girl is a monster as following behind him the sensor activated and it gave a red signal."
"Right, and the green haired girl is obviously not a monster, she's always shown green on the system." he dropped his hand from his chin.
"Connected two dots together I see!" the woman replied along with an expression of sarcastic shock.
"Fuck off."
