"Good morning girls," I said cheerfully to them. "Good morning!" They all responded, still groggy from sleep. While they rested, I got up and went to the bathroom, then decided to let them sleep some more. I've always been curious about how I'm the only early bird while the others are still night owls. After taking a shower and getting dressed, I went to my brother's room, who is also an early bird like me. I knocked on his door and said, "Knock, knock."He responds as I open the door and step in. "Hey, I thought we could spend a little time together like brothers." I always wondered why the other girls, including Eva, thought he looked good for an 18-year-old boy. To me, his deep blue eyes are very alluring, but to others, it's like a trap for girls. I mean, I don't know how many times me and the girls had to drag Eva away every time they crossed paths. It feels like an eternity to drag Eva away from him. Other than his eyes, my brother is the definition of a too-damn-hot black boy - I mean, man-ish. With his brown skin, diamond-shaped face, and don't get me started on his muscles. Why am I even describing him right now? "Well, I see why Eva is so head over heels for you, including every other girl," I said as I was about to sit down on the couch facing his TV. I clasped my mouth with my hands, realizing my mistake; I just went against the girl code just now. Oh, shit. My brother laughed. "Don't worry, I won't tell Eva that you broke the girl code," he laughed again. "I know that she likes me, but I never want to ask her out because I'm afraid that you wouldn't want me to date her," he told me as he came to sit next to me on the couch.
"Yes, man," he said, and I laughed. "So, I guess that I will ask her out tomorrow," he said excitedly.
"You must truly like her, huh? I've never seen you this excited about anything other than your football games," I said, looking surprised at my brother's sudden excitement.
"Well, of course, I will be excited, T. I've had a crush on Eva since the first time I saw her, and I know that she feels the same way. But because she doesn't want to betray you, I don't think she has made a move yet," he said.
"LUCAS!!!" I said angrily, "This is not a K-drama like I said before. I will never come in between love. But what will come in between is if you hurt any of my girls," I said, placing my hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down.
"Okay, thanks, sis," he laughed and said, "Sometimes I wonder who the older sibling is." I laughed with him.
"So, are we going to have a rematch in the next game?" I asked him, switching the subject.
"You bet!" He said as he got up to turn on the TV and take the gaming consoles from his furniture.
"We played for so long that Ms. James had to bring our breakfast upstairs to Lucas' room. She let the girls know where I was and after a few minutes, they joined us in the game. Even Eva had a rematch with Lucas and me, and the girls were flabbergasted at how she wasn't Googling everything about Lucas the whole time. I mean, we knew that Eva took playing games seriously, but I didn't think she would take it this seriously. Not even her crush of three years could falter her mojo. After we recovered from our shock over what we were seeing before our own eyes, we watched a movie and played board games. Before I knew it, it was time for me and the girls to get ready for the party. "Well," I said to Lucas, "I will have to say that we must go back to my room because it is almost 4 pm, and interestingly, we girls take so long to get ready. We must get ready now so that we don't make you wait for us when the time comes," I said as the girls got up. "But it's a pool party," Lucas asked curiously, "Why do you girls have to take so long to get ready when all we're doing is getting wet and swimming?" "Well," I responded, "that's because we are girls and we have to look our best no matter what event it is."With that, I closed the door and we went to my room.
