Landon runs inside the temple and rushes through sections of its ground floor and finds the stairs leading down to the underground to his right. He starts going down the stairs of the temple as fast as he could to the underground antechamber. The lower he goes down, the darker it becomes until he reaches a carved stone door with a lit torch attached to the side. Seeing the door would not open, Landon slowly walks to the door and places his hands on the door and leans his head on it and calms his breathing.
“Oreada.” He speaks calmly. “I’m here. Please. Open your door so I can reclaim what is rightfully ours… and breathe life back into your land.”
The carvings on the stone door begin to shine bright with Landon’s hands, causing the antechamber’s door to slowly open. Inside the antechamber, it was a wide cave with stone carvings of the prior Safekeeps of Life. In the center of the room was a pedestal with a withered flower atop with wide half black and half white petals with a curled stem. As Landon slowly walks toward it, the dead flowers and vines on the floor and the walls slowly come back to life as he passes them. As he reaches the center, Landon slowly grasps the flower, making the petals glow their hue.
“Oreada.” He speaks. “I, Landon Endreas, Safekeep of Elem’s Life and native of Oreads, come before you as the true protector for the sake of Elem. I reclaim you and give you my oath to breathe life back into our land. Under the true matriarch, Queen Furia Nyle, flow through me for her. And I… flow through you.”
With his words, the flower absorbs Landon’s essence, making the petals and the stem come back to life with the rest of the antechamber plant life.
. . .
Back outside after having a battering scuffle, Yurich and Hanchia glare at each other until they see grass and flowers emerging from the temple’s vicinity and start spreading through rest of the land and ground around them. Yurich smiles happily while Hanchia seethes angrily.
“Landon reached her.” Yurich speaks. “Looks like he’s still worthy. I’m sure you wish you could do that.”
Yurich’s taunt causes Hanchia to scream in frustration. “Dammit! Kabu is going to get it when we get back!”
. .
As Oreads’ Life flower finishes absorbing from Landon’s essence and flourishes back to life, he smiles, until a blade flies past his face and hits the far wall. Landon turns to the entrance and sees an angry Kabu glaring at him.
“How?!” He asks Landon angrily. “How could you reclaim the temple after two years of not being here?!”
“She knows me still.” Landon replies. “She knows I am the real Safekeep of Life.”
Kabu growls angrily and summons his blade back to his hand. Kabu then charges at Landon, prompting him to summon his katana to block Kabu’s attack. Landon pushes him away and sets a barrier around the flower to protect it. Kabu goes to strike him again, but gets blocked once more. Their weapons clash numerous times cancelling each other out. Out of anger, Kabu forcefully knocks Landon’s katana out of his hands. Unarmed, Kabu went to strike Landon, but he dodged out of the way. Kabu yelled out of anger and went on an all-out attack on Landon. Every swing he made, Landon dodges by sliding near Kabu and kicking his leg. Kabu trips as his blade falls out of his hands. Landon stands up and gets in a fighting stance. Kabu gets up and tries to summon his blade back in his hand, but the enchanted vines bound the blade to the antechamber floor.
“Try to not use your weapon, Kabu!” Landon shouts. “Let’s see if Yenish taught you how to really fight!”
Triggered by his statement, Kabu charges at Landon.
. .
Outside in the courtyard, Yurich dodges and blocks Hanchia’s attacks with no effort and sees her becoming exhausted. Yurich then pushes her away making her slide onto the ground.
“I know you’re getting tired, Hanchia.” He speaks. “I’m warning you to stop right now and leave.”
Hanchia slowly gets up showing her arms, torso, and legs were bloodied. Her rapier dissipated along with the 2nd Mizuchi. Growling in frustration, she puts her hands together as a symbol and aims them at Yurich.
“Zu!”
She fires a water beam at Yurich, making him move out of the way and instantly make his symbol.
“Raito!”
He fires lightning at Hanchia and it was a direct hit. Hanchia is stunned and falls onto the grass unconscious. As she did, Mizuchi dissipates as the water falls to the ground. Yurich looks at Pamo and Nahtaivel with relief.
“Nahtaivel! Return to Landon. Pamo! Return to me.” He commands.
As the two disappear, Yurich runs to the temple to catch up to Landon.
. .
Back in the antechamber, Kabu attempts to strike Landon with straight punches and hooks, but could not land any of them. Landon elbows Kabu in the face and sweeps kick him, causing Kabu to hit the floor. The vines begin to bind Kabu to the floor, but he teleports out of them and right in front of Landon as he headbutts him in the face. Landon holds his face with his forehead and nose bleeding. Kabu quickly grabs Landon by his shirt and pushes him to a wall, making Landon hit the back of his head, and making the vines loosen from Kabu’s blade which he summons into his left hand.
“Keep Queen Yenish’s name out of your mouth!” Kabu sneers. “Also, you might as well be the first “Safekeep” to be silenced. My queen will be incredibly pleased.”
Kabu starts smirking as he raises his blade to end Landon’s life.
“Amarok!”
A large wolf with red fur comes from above the antechamber and slashes Kabu across his back, making him yell out in pain, drop his blade, and releasing Landon. He backs away while holding his back as he falls to his knees in pain. The wolf stands in front of Landon glaring at Kabu. Kabu looks at the fur and the eyes of the wolf. The wolf’s fur was red as its eyes were different colors; the right was brown, and the left eye was light green and glowing. Kabu realizes who the wolf belongs to.
“KAI!!”
Hearing his name, Kai lands on the ground next to Amarok with his light green eye glowing with a sadistic smile on his face as he rests his sword on his shoulder. Kai glares at Kabu while Kabu holds the side of his bleeding back.
“You were looking for me, Kabu? Well, I’m here. I never left." He speaks while smirking. “Would you like a rematch for the other night?”
Kabu growls as he tries to stand straight holding his back.
“You bastard! You will regret this!” Kabu curses furiously. “All of you will be burning in the fires of Omakotaku! Queen Yenish will see to it! I promise you that!”
Kai was not persuaded by Kabu’s words and shows his sadistic smile as he chuckles.
“Like that scares anybody.” He speaks sarcastically. “Go and run. Tell your “mother” what happened here. And remember, she is the one who is going to burn.”
Speechless, Kabu retreats by teleporting out of the temple.
. .
Kabu teleports back outside the temple and next to an unconscious Hanchia on the temple floors along with the remaining bandits who survived the ordeal, making him groan annoyedly.
“Damn…” He curses himself. “Her majesty is not going to like this when we tell her.”
As dozens of the bandits gather around Kabu, he picks up Hanchia, and teleports him, Hanchia, and his remaining bandits out of Oreads.
. .
As Landon was on the ground, he looked up at Kai as who turns to face him. As Amarok disappears, Kai walks up and extends his hand to Landon. Landon grabs his hand and gets up.
“Long time, no see, Landon.” Kai greets.
Seconds later, Yurich comes down to the antechamber and stops in his tracks in shock when he sees Kai helping Landon up. “Kai?”
Kai looks at Yurich with an unemotional look. “Hey… Yurich.” He greets in a low tone.
Landon backs away next to Yurich as he stares at Kai skeptically.
“Kai… What… are you doing here? Why are you here?” Landon asks.
Kai could not answer and looked away from them with guilt on his face.
“Where were you these last two years?” Yurich asks firmly.
“I was… here.” Kai replies reluctantly.
“Here? In my temple? Why?!” Landon asks infuriated.
“I… think it would be best if we talked about it in the underground sanctuary…”
Hearing this, Landon raises his left hand, causing vines to wrap and bind Kai. He uses his right hand to summon his katana.
“You will answer everything we ask you when we get there.” Landon states sternly and points his katana to the stone wall. “Oreada, open the door to the underground facility!”
Oreada, the Life Flower glows brightly on its pedestal. Landon slashes at the stone wall making the portal pocket open. He and Yurich hold onto Kai as they enter the portal to the underground sanctuary.
