After an hour and a half, Mr. Roben finally finished his lecture, and I was able to leave the class. I couldn't wait to meet up with my friends to play football, eat some food, and talk to some girls. As we were leaving, Mr. Roben reminded us that we had a final project due the next day before the summer break. "Hey, man!" Oliver greeted me with a bro hug. We've been best friends since we were babies. "Yo, Mr. Roben is killing us with this final project. It counts as our final grade," I said, feeling stressed. "I mean, I'd say screw the project, but I know how much you guys care about keeping good grades," Oliver joked. "I wish I could afford to do something to convince my parents to change their minds about our trip to the island," But thank goodness, I am an overachiever. That means I don't have to worry too much about it since I finished that project two weeks ago. But damn, was it hard to come up with ideas. I said as we walked to our table in the cafeteria. "What's up, big E?" The guys acknowledged us as we sat down. "Not much, guys," I replied, giving them a fist bump. "I'll be right back. I'm going to get some food." As I got in line, I saw Lisa, the most popular girl in school and my ex-girlfriend. We dated last year, but I cheated on her with a girl on the soccer team for two months. To be honest, I only dated Lisa for her popularity. "I remember when Lisa found out about the other girl, she freaked out and attacked her during practice the next day. After that incident, I decided not to be in a real relationship because Lisa won't leave me alone. Even now, she gives hints or tries to scare off any girl who comes near me. As I grabbed a plate just then, I heard Lisa's voice behind me. I was annoyed, but I tried to ignore her. I grabbed two cookies and a cup of ice cream and gave the lady my school card. Then, I went to get a soda and didn't let her get to me. Unfortunately, Oliver, my classmate, doesn't have a filter, so he said out loud, "Yo, E, she can't take a hit, huh?" Everyone in the cafeteria heard him and laughed. As I looked over my shoulder, I saw Lisa walking away like nothing had happened. As I sat down to eat, Chad, one of my friends in the group, joked, "Bro, at this point, she looks like she would kill for you." I laughed at his words and replied, "I hope it doesn't come to that." I grabbed my spoon and started eating. After we finished eating, my friends and I went outside to play some tag football. Since we had 20 minutes left for our lunch break, we knew some girls were sitting on the bleachers watching us play. So, we decided to put on a show for them. We took off our shirts, and as expected, they all giggled, whistled, and we fist bumped each other and laughed. I looked at my watch and said, "Well, boys, it seems our time is up. Lunch break is almost over. About 1...2...3 ring...!" Right on cue, the bell rang, and I said, "Well, boys, I'll see you later" as I walked inside and put on my shirt.
