The Daily Struggles of a Bookworm Princess

I gasped

"The prince?! What's he doing outside of my room?"

I hurried out of the bath and got dressed quickly in a black long dress with a built in deep velvet red corset. i put on a black bow in my hair and rushed out the door

"Meredith you must get me into disguise immediately! I don't think I could stand being here another day. We must head to town at once!"

I didn't want to be stuck in the castle with a prince roaming around the halls looking for me. I did NOT want to bump into him whatsoever in fear he may strike up a conversation with me. I'm terrified to think what he may look like. My father could have, by chance, chosen a well mannered handsome prince and at the same time chosen the complete opposite. I thought it would be the opposite, considering the prince had the gall to visit my room. or perhaps he may have just been worried. Either way, I did not want to be here.

I looked around my room looking for Meredith until I had realized she was in my closet grabbing a cloak for me. Oh how I love her. She could never take the place of my own mother but she certainly is like a second one to me. I could say one thing and she understands me almost indefinitely.

"Here, my Princess. Your cloak for outings." She wrapped it onto me and held my hand "shall we go now, Princess?"

I nodded and sighed "Yes. Yes we shall"

She led me to the back of the castle gardens where the rose wall was. It was the easiest way to escape. Meredith was the only one my father had trusted with the key to the door of the wall which was great news for me! She unlocked the door and led me through.

We walked through the forest for what felt like forever. It was dark with small rays of sunlight peeking throughout the holes in the tree leaves. It was beautiful.

"My Princess, we're here." Meredith said as we walked up a hill. We had finally reached the town

I breathed in and sighed "Finally. Escapism! Meredith may we please go to the bakery downtown? The one that used to sell those little jam roly polys? I loved those!"

She smiled at me, her hand brushing a strand of dark brown hair out of her face "Of course we can my Princess"

We walked towards the bakery and sat down at a small table inside.
