Unfortunately, there's such thing as getting 'too comfortable too quickly' with the cards that the universe deals you.
If you get used to something or a certain situation too quickly, no longer minding the position it had put you in, the 'luck' will surely run out.
I was stupid enough to trust someone who ended up using me to get back to their father and claim the 'title' they have been longing for years. And now, I've been stupid enough to keep trust and faith in my best friend... who is also capable of betrayal.
Slenderman's Mansion, Rorrim's Forest, Dellone, Under Realm
Thursday, January 26th
2:17pm
Angelina stepped back into the house and collapsed onto the couch in the living room.
That night a couple weeks ago, after she fainted... again, she had woken up the next day to the terrifying sight of bloodied nurse by her bed- the hypnotic had fallen out of bed and stirred majority of the house awake.
The nurse's name was 'Maya' and she was only bloody because before coming to the mansion, she had to cut off and treat another guy's horribly infected and dead foot... she even had pictures she happily showed everyone.
It was soon explained to Angelina that what she had experienced was called 'Roard Vlacadk', also known as 'Realm Phasing', an ancient use of magic reapers used to use centuries ago, where a reaper's soul can travel beyond and to different realms, something that only royal reapers are able to do now. And it still didn't sit right with the hypnotic. It also bugged her even more that she had an ability she could use to track down where her friends are, but ever since that night, she has not been able to do it again.
Angelina sighed, slowly sitting up properly as she thought to herself 'January twenty-sixth... the others would've had their first day back at school' a thought that pained her a little.
No possible way for her to get a message back to her friends in the Mid Realm- no way to tell them where she was or that she had let the Grey Son capture Corey, Vixen and Sean. Or worse yet, she hadn't been able to kill the Grey Son, now the 'Grey Leader', and that was the sole reason and purpose of going through the mirror, of going after him.
She got up and dragged herself out of the living room and into the front entrance of the house, seeing Kate, Hoodie, Toby, Jeff and Jack all geared up and ready by the door with Slender "Where are you all going?" Angelina asked "There's been more activity happening up at the northern end of the forest" Kate stated "Grey soldiers have been patrolling the edge for a couple weeks now, since Rorrim's Forest is Slender's territory, we're going to go take a look to see what they're up to" she explained as the hypnotic nodded her head a little. "They will not be back until early tomorrow" Slender told the girl before giving a silent goodbye to the other five as they stepped out the front door and closed it behind themselves. "Right then, let's get back to your training" the entity stated as Angelina groaned 'I wonder how the others back home are doing' she thought as Slender lead her back outside.
Drift Warden House, Perible, England, Mid
3:40pm
The kids poured in through the front door, all tired and filled with foul moods as they split off into different areas of the house.
Jocelyn stepped out of the living room to meet her daughter and niece by the front door "Hi girls, how was your first day back at school?" the woman brightly asked "Boring and annoying- whenever we weren't in class, we had people asking us left and right about Angelina, Corey, Sean and Vixen" Faith answered, an eye roll following after her words "And Principal Hext kept having to kick out reporters that kept on sneaking onto school property" Faith added before the two girls headed upstairs to the rooms. Concern spread through Jocelyn's face as Blake stepped in through the front door, closing it behind himself, and when the woman turned to look at him, she was met with a very annoyed and angry expression "...was it really that bad today?" Jocelyn asked as Blake let out a breath "It's a lot worse than what the kids are letting on" he answered. "I swear to god- if I have another person ask me anything about the kids, missing or here, or the Grey Son, I'm fucking hitting them" Blake said, his annoyance and anger clearly showing "...I'm going to go check on my daughter" Jocelyn stated, hesitantly turning and leaving the man and heading upstairs.
Blake turned to the front door after a few knocks came from it. He opened the door to see Echo "Ec- you're supposed to be in Norway with the Red Leader" "Yes sir, but the um... Red Leader sent me back to Perible" she told Blake whose brows knotted "Dare I ask why?" he questioned "He um... he gave me orders to help you welcome the new Black Army soldiers arriving next week and make sure the barracks are fixed up for them" Echo answered. Blake's face turned sour and annoyed 'Army leader for one month- the fucking nerve of that boy' he closed his eyes, trying to keep himself calm "Right, of course- a hundred soldiers have joined the army last year, correct?" "Yes, sir" Echo confirmed, straightening up as Blake reopened his eyes and looked back at her. "Lucky enough, at least thirty rooms of the barracks in the army base have been cleaned and fixed" he stated "I'll confirm further information with the Red Leader later" "Yes, sir" Echo nodded her head and as she turned to leave "Echo" Blake called out, the young lady turning her head back to him as he gave her a warm smile "Welcome home" he said, gaining a small smile from her "Glad to be back, sir" Echo nodded her head to him and left.
Jocelyn stepped into Holly's bedroom, finding the girl re-reading the emrone demon book Erik had given her last year "Holly, how was your day?" the woman asked as the girl quietly answered "Fine" "Okay..." Jocelyn waited a few seconds before hesitantly asking "You... you never told me what classes you picked, the four that you'll be doing alongside your other classes" the women said. "Celestial Studies, Witchcraft and History, Military Studies, and Military Defence and Combat" Holly bluntly answered her mother as the woman's face filled with deep worry "You joined the MDC Program?" "Yes-" "Why?" Jocelyn questioned her daughter "Why join the armies-" "Because I might finally be able to do something useful for once!" Holly snapped, taking her mother aback. "I can't do magic at all and what use is it if this," Holly summoned the feather-weight, silver and dark pink sword into her hand "Is all I can do?" she questioned, unsummoning the weapon "If I can't do magic, then I'll learn another way to protect myself and if that means being an army cadet, then that's what I'll do" the girl firmly stated. Jocelyn stood silent for a moment "...okay" the woman agreed with her daughter "I'm assuming there's a permission note you need a guardian to sign?" Jocelyn said as immediately, Holly pulled the note out of her bag and handed it to her mother who grabbed a pen off her daughter's study desk and signed the note, handing it right back to Holly. "You're right, you should learn whatever you can, especially whilst in this realm" Jocelyn admitted as the girl took the signed note into her hands "I want you to be protected no matter what, even when you're alone-" the woman was cut off as her daughter stepped forward and hugged her "Thank you, mum".
