Ten years ago, there was a hidden village deep within the Magnus Mountains. The Magnus Mountains are always covered in ice and snow. Lucas had already left the House of Seven in search of his own meaning in life. He already had both Ghidor and Grunthos with him as he formed the mercenary group known as Ouroboros, but he knew that three members weren't enough. He decided to join a bigger organization to further his goals. This group was known as Scarlet's Web and their leader was a teenaged Zollic. Zollic had a magical user in his ranks that had the ability to alter the features of anyone he touched, making Zollic seem much older than he was. This user had also made Zollic’s voice deeper and more manly, but this didn't matter as much since Zollic never took off his mask in front of anyone. 

The first mission that Zollic gave Lucas was to find and kill everyone in the hidden village in the Magnus Mountains. This needed to be done with the utmost urgency as the longer they were alive, the more threatening they would become in the future. Zollic even put together a team of his own troops to aid Lucas, who took those troops to the Magnus Mountains. There was another magical user that had the ability to see anything that's hidden and Lucas thought to himself that he should get this user to join Ouroboros one of these days. They found the villagers when night fell and they launched an attack on the villagers. The battle was one-sided as those in the village were just that, villagers. Only the chief of the village and a few others had the ability to use ice and conceal the village. Once they died, the village was no longer hidden. Lucas and a few others, including the man who could see the villagers, entered the chief’s house where they found him sitting in his chair, waiting for them to arrive. Just as he stood up, he felt their presence but was not scared. 

Ghidor sent shockwaves on the ground but the chief froze it with his ice powers. At that exact moment, Lucas appeared right in the chief's face and slashed him thirty times, causing the chief to fall to his knees. A little girl, no older than ten years old, came from behind the chair, crying. The chief asked them to spare his daughter’s life. Unlike the rest of them, it was she who was concealing the village and he said that her ice powers had far surpassed his own. At that moment, Lucas changed his mind about who he wanted to join Ouroboros. Lucas agreed to spare the child. The seer in his company disagreed with Lucas's decision and wanted to kill the girl. Just then, Grunthos’ gas hit the seer and the others, going into their bodies and stunning them. Ghidor cut their bodies up with a lighting blade. This made Lucas smile and he went to the girl and asked her for her name. Her father told her it was okay so she told them. Her name was Sapphire. Lucas introduced himself and told her that it was in her best interest to come with him. Hesitating, she stood frozen until her father told her to go. He told her that there was no future in the village anymore and to be strong for the both of them. For now, Lucas would be her chief. 

Sapphire agreed to go with Lucas and when they got back to Zollic, they told him what happened. Zollic told them that the lives of those who died meant nothing to him. Only those who live served a purpose in his ranks. Lucas continued to serve under Zollic for a few more years, recruiting people into his organization. Lucas and his crew all knew that Zollic was secretly planning to kill them and Lucas put a plan in motion to steal the information they needed. Sapphire constructed a giant castle made of ice and used her concealing powers to hide Ouroboros from Zollic and Scarlet's Web.

 

Present Day

The Pistols finally had enough strength to make it to their feet. Rayne walked over to Ghidor's body and closed his eyes. They all walked out of the arena and, in the distance, spotted their plane just where Sebastian said it would be. The whole plane ride home, they knew that they were defeated and knew that this was the wake-up point. They needed to get better, stronger, and they needed to do it fast. After getting home, a whole month had passed with no word from anyone on the enemy’s side. 

Within that month, Rare spent all her time in isolation, trying to perfect her pistol’s ability. Demetria and Angie didn't want to be known as the weaklings of the group. They wanted Sotto to train them in hand-to-hand combat. Sotto agreed and took Demetria and Angie to the outskirts of the city where they would be able to train in peace. Kanu and Godfrey trained together. Godfrey wanted to get his reaction timing down and he thought who better to help him than Lady Luck herself. 

Rayne asked Rurima to train her and not to hold back. Rurima knew that Rayne was serious so she trained her as such, not going easy on her for a second. Rurima made Rayne go into her Great Pistol form over and over again in five minutes intervals with two-minute breaks for a number of weeks. This exhausted Rayne, who often felt like quitting but then remembered why she was doing this. She didn’t want her friends to die because of her. For the next two weeks, Rurima made her do this in ten-minute intervals with two-minute breaks. She included a new part of this, making Rayne fight her in her Great Pistol form. When Rayne asked why she had to do this over and over again, Rurima explained that it was so she could understand how to go into the form and use it in battle. She also told her that she was helping her build up her endurance. The training was hard on Rayne but she endured it, knowing it was the best way to make her stronger. 

A month went by and everyone showed up to Rurima's place. Rurima could tell that they had all made great strides in their training. They all looked stronger and more confident in themselves. She didn’t show it, but she was proud of them and how hard they had worked. For the next week, they showed each other what they had learned. Rurima watched them and gave them little bits of instructions here and there until they were able to fight together like a machine. 

Not long after this, a car showed up at Rurima's home. She greeted the man who got out of the car and he gave her a phone. It started ringing as soon as she grabbed it and when she answered it, the voice on the other end belonged to Lucas. He told her that the time for fun and games was over. He gave her an address to where he was going to be and told her to come with her puny pistols and feel the full force of Ouroboros. He said that if they came, their deaths were one hundred percent curtain. He hung up after that, not waiting for a reply from her. 

Feeling annoyed, Rurima said, “This is the last straw! I’m going to settle this once and for all. If you think you’re ready, then you can come with me, but don’t you dare get in my way.”

The Pistols knew they weren't staying put and decided to go with Rurima, who smiled, knowing that they were going to join her. She had an armored truck meet them outside. Dismissing the driver, Rurima took his place and drove. The trip took half a day and when they arrived they found themselves in the Magnus Mountains. There was a huge ice fortress waiting for them. Lucas came out to greet them all.

 "Well now, Rurima, I'm glad you showed up. I thought I was going to have to kill these kids and be bored. At least now, I get to kill the lot of you together.” He said smugly before continuing, “Do my eyes deceive me? If it isn't the heir to the House of Alden! Godfrey, is it? You've always been a joke, haven’t you? You weren't even chosen as the Great Pistol and yet those ingrates chose you as the heir. That title should've been mine! I'm going to take great pleasure in killing you." 

Godfrey told Lucas that he wasn't scared of him anymore and that he would prove that he was destined for great things. This made Lucas laugh and he snapped his fingers. A large army of guys came out of the castle. Lucas told them that he would be waiting for them all inside if they could make it to him. Then he was gone, leaving the Pistols and Rurima to deal with the soldiers before them.
