Jonas woke up in the morning with a warm weight in his arms. Which immediately confused him, but then he remembered that he had invited his friends to stay the night. He immediately fell back to sleep thinking it must just be a friend of his in his arms. It was not uncommon for him to sleep with his friends, he had always been the cuddly type, and he was not ashamed to admit it.
And it was the weekend which meant he could sleep as much as he wanted. He hated mornings and above all hated getting up early.
In the middle of his sleep he felt the mass in his arms move so he could withdraw. He paid no more attention and took his arms away from the person. He felt like he was forgetting something important, but he was way too clinging to his sleep to be able to think about this moment. So he fell into a deep sleep again without glancing at the figure that was slowly leaving the room.
A few hours later he was woken up not by the lights of the sun, but he was woken up by the screams of his friends in the living room. His friends were always loud especially when they were all together.
He stretched for a long time before stifling a yawn. As he got up from his bed he noticed that the shutters had not been closed and that the sun was streaming directly into his eyes. He blinked several times to adjust to the sudden bright light. He found that he had forgotten to change his clothes, which was quite strange.
He felt like he had forgotten something important. Jonas tried to remember this, frowning in a vacuum. Then suddenly all the events of the last night came back to him. Damn how could he forget what happened the day before. That meant the figure he blurted out a few hours ago was Tyler.
Come to think of it that meant Tyler had gone home and had to drive home which was a long drive alone after what happened yesterday. He hated himself at that moment for not waking up. He was worried about Tyler, he didn't even know if he was better or even able to drive after what happened yesterday. Yesterday's event sounded like a panic attack, but he felt like it was more than that. Like it was something much deeper. However, he did not know what it was really about.
His stomach churned at the thought of Tyler alone in his car trying to start the car with his hands shaking so badly it took him several tries. Worse still he wondered if he had had trouble breathing for a moment on the road, or if he couldn't even see the road ahead of him because of the tears that were blurring his vision.
Tyler was his best friend and thinking about him suffering alone because he didn't bother to wake up made him mad at himself. Nevertheless he took a deep breath to try to calm down, getting upset was not going to change anything in what had happened. He had made a mistake, and he had to make sure that Tyler got home safely and that he was okay.
He quickly grabbed his phone to dial his number, but each call sent him back to voicemail. He didn't even know how many times he had called, but each unanswered call sent him into a spiral of dread.
Knowing Tyler, he might not have answered out of pride. Tyler was someone who never expressed his feelings unlike him and hated being vulnerable to others. So maybe he chose not to answer because he was too ashamed of what happened yesterday, ashamed of letting someone see himself in such a state.
He started to imagine the worst scenarios that could happen to him, he was way too paranoid, he imagined Tyler in a dead car accident with no one around to help him. Before he could start imagining other scenarios that would send him into another panic his friends appeared in his room.
"Dude what are you doing in your bed again? It's past noon ! Come on get up !" Shouted Nathan.
"We are waiting for you to cook! The girls are cooking imagine the horror that they will serve us again! We're waiting for you to save us from their disgusting food !" Said Tetsuya rummaging through his stuff looking for something (probably porn knowing him).
"Sorry Jonas, I didn't want to wake you up but the boys didn't want to hear anything." Said Nolan, giving him an apologetic smile.
"It's ok don't worry Nolan I was already awake anyway, might as well take the opportunity to cook since the boys don't seem to have eaten for 2 days, just let me getting ready," Jonas said.
"Hurry up Sarah is two minutes away from serving us dog food!" Said Nathan.
"We heard that!" the girls shouted from across the room.
" Shit!" Said a panicked Nathan.
"Hey man I won't allow you dog food is better! Before you ask the question yes I have already tasted it," Tetsuya said.
Everyone in the room fell silent to give him a look of disgust.
" What? I was just a children!" said Tetsuyato defend himself.
Jonas, shaking his head at their nonsense, went to get ready in the bathroom. As he felt the hot water flow through him he felt his muscles unconsciously relax. The shower always allowed him to clear his mind and forget his worries for a while. But today he couldn't help but worry about Tyler even in the shower.
He couldn't stay with the unanswered calls, he had to do something to make sure Tyler was okay and safe. And if Tyler didn't answer calls or messages then there was only one thing left for him to do. Go home. But before that he had dishes to prepare. Leaving on an empty stomach wasn't going to help him, and it wasn't as if he could abandon his friends at home to leave without an explanation.
After his shower and after brushing his teeth, he went into the kitchen where he saw Normani and Sarah destroying his kitchen. The room smelled of burning and the dishes were full and there was flour everywhere. He thanked all the gods that his parents weren't there. If his dad was here he would have had a heart attack because of the mess. His father was an orderly person, he always liked everything to be tidy and in its place. He could sometimes be a little too obsessed with cleanliness unlike him who spent his time in a room that was always messy.
Jonas took a deep breath, the last thing he wanted to do on a Sunday afternoon was clean up his kitchen. It turns out, however, that he wouldn't have much of a choice. At least he wouldn't have to worry about Tyler for a moment while since he'll be too distracted with cooking.
"Finally you're here! They have been asking us to taste for a while now we are afraid of being poisoned!" Said Nathan.
"Please, we need you more than ever Jonas! It's Code Red," said Tetsuya.
"There is little chance of being poisoned like that. And what is Code Red?" Asked Nolan.
"Nolan how could you forget. Code red means life-threatening!" Said Tetsuya.
"Boys always exaggerate," Sarah said, stirring a black batter.
"It's true Jonas, don't listen to them, we're doing very well,"said Normani.
"Girls I think you have done enough. You must be tired. Thank you for the hard work now that I'm here I'll take over you can go and rest," said Jonas smiling at them kindly.
The girls hesitated at first, then left when they saw Jonas so determined to take over. Jonas started by cleaning the entire kitchen from floor to ceiling until everything was sparkling clean. Then he did all the dishes. It took him twenty minutes just for the dishes.
Then he started preparing dinner, Jonas loves to cook, but above all he loves cooking with music. That's why he gives the role of DJ to the boys while the girls rest watching a movie on Netflix.
The boys' song choices were hilarious and completely wacky.
Jonas wanted to prepare a dish that didn't take too long because he wanted to get to Tyler's quickly. This is why he decided to prepare homemade pizzas with pizza dough already prepared. That way he just has to put the tomato sauce or the fresh cream on legs with the accompaniments on the pizzas and put in the oven.
He opted for a pizza with lard, sour cream, potato and a lots of cheese and has another pizza in tomato sauce with peppers on top, mozzarella and slices of chorizo. As well as basil. The finished pizzas he put them in the oven and washed his hands. Now that the pizzas were in the oven her thoughts returned to Tyler.
"Are you okay?" asked Normani with a frown.
Jonas jumped, he hadn't seen it coming.
" You scared me!"
"Sorry I forget you get scared too easily." Said Normani with a smirk "But seriously are you okay?" Normani asked more seriously.
"Oh yes it's ok don't worry I'm just thinking about a homework."
Jonas knew that was a lame excuse he had there, but it wasn't like he could just tell her what happened yesterday. Tyler was someone rather private and despite his relaxed attitude. He liked his privacy.
"Jonas you keep twist your fingers in all directions since you have the time. And you only do that when you get seriously overly stressed or anxious. Did something happen yesterday?" said Normani.
Jonas didn't respond, it wasn't like he could just tell him the truth, he knew that Tyler didn't like being seen like that and he'll even less like anyone else to know his "collapse". And it wasn't like he was good at lying, he knew Normani could see right through him and his lies. So he preferred to keep quiet before betraying himself. Normani was far too shrewd to be fooled.
"Okay then I assume by your silence that something happened last night but for some reason you can't tell me. Hm would this be about Ty..."
Before she finished her sentence, the oven timer rang exactly at the same time to let them know that the pizzas were ready. Jonas immediately took advantage of this to be able to flee Normani and head for the oven to get them out. As soon as the Pizzas came out the boys rushed to the pizzas.
They settled quietly around the sofa to eat. Jonas noticed that Normani kept glancing at him as if to tell him the conversation wasn't over, yet he feigned ignorance and continued to eat.
"Damn you cook better than my mother Jonas!" Don't ever tell her I told you that huh," Tetsuya said as he gulped down a slice.
"Shut up, I'm trying to watch my series," said Sarah while watching.
"Do you still watch your anime? What's so good about it?" asked Nathan.
" You can not understand. Anime is amazing. I can't believe I'm friends with losers who don't like manga or anime." Huffed Sarah as she refocused on her anime where a little white-haired boy and a green-haired boy were chatting happily.
"Actually I tried once, and I kind of liked Fullmetal Alchemist even though the idea of human transmutation to save their mother is completely ridiculous. It is impossible to transmute a living being I mean even with all the ingredients in the anime it still seems unlikely that it is enough to be able to recreate a life and even worse a life already dead. Unless they're..."
"It's good, we understand Nolan, you can stop there," moaned Sarah.
"To be honest I prefer the series, I think it looks more realistic," said Normani.
"Oh no not you too, we have to ally against the boy not ally with them," said Sarah.
"Sorry," said Normani without being.
"And you Jonas why are you so quiet? No let me guess it's because of love that's it. Damn I knew it! Mom was right to say that love and marriages were the scourge of the world!" Tetsuya said dramatically.
Tetsuya's mother was a nice lady, however after her divorce she was determined to let everyone know that love and marriage were all rubbish. Each time they went to Tetsuya's house, his mother never failed to let them know that they were young and should not make the same mistakes as her. That is, to fall in love and get married.
She was determined to stay single for the rest of her life she told them, he felt a little sad for her and he hoped she would meet someone, but he didn't think that would happen anytime soon. He still remembered like it was yesterday when his son Tetsuya took him on a blind date. In fact he had been there with the rest of his friends trying to hide. He had tried with the rest of his friends to prevent Tetsuya but nothing to do. And let's just say that the evening ended badly.
