The king continued to walk through the hall and as he was headed to the stairway Victoria crashed upward to the third floor. He looks back at her tilting his head with a smirk impressed she has gotten this far. Victoria was on her knee, her hair overlapped on the right and side of her shoulders. She stands up whipping her hair to fall behind looking at the king.
“You must be the one causing mayhem in my kingdom.”
“What if I am? Though, if I recall, wasn’t you who took away my home, King Meshal, aka, the Phoenix of Destruction.” She pointed her sword at him.
Chief Cody and the queen wait in their room patiently. He turns his head to look at the queen from behind. She was worried so much was running through her mind.
“Your majesty, shall I check the hall for intruders?”
“By all means.”
Cody walked towards the door reaching for the doorknob. By the time he was about to turn it, he opens to Arpina and Seraphina making the commander flinch at their sight.
“Geez, the two of you gave me a heart attack.”
“Seraphina!” The queen ran to her for an embrace. “I was scared. I was scared that I had lost you.”
“Ngh!” she twitched holding her chest in pain.
“Sera?” they questioned looking at her.
“My chest is burning, is that normal?”
“Did something happened?” she questioned.
“She was killed by the enemy.” Arpina said disappointed.
“Impossible, Phoenixes cannot die from a regular blade.” interrogated Cody.
“The only material that can is iron. It appears that your transformation has been damaged by it.” She looked at Sera still holding her chest.
“Can it heal over time?”
“We’ll have to analyze it later.”
“We need to leave now! If this lady was able to kill Seraphina, she’s capable to go after us as well.” Ordered Arpina walking towards the door.
“Where is she?”
“She’s on this floor.”
“She must be on the other side with the king.”
“Take this, Seraphina.” She hands her folded clothes in tight plastic.
“A uniform?”
“Not just a uniform, it’s specially made to withstand wears and tares. It’s also part of your abilities as well.”
“Your majesty, if we may?”
Cody was ahead in line followed by Arpina, the princess and the queen. They ran down the stairs past the second floor and onto the first. While escaping, Sera saw the dead soldiers on the floor and the crows that feast on their corpse. She couldn’t believe the massacre that had happened, she was frightened.
“Don’t let that distract you, we’re almost to the last floor.” The queen ordered.
They ran further down the hall to reach the entrance. Cody pulled out his sword and opened the door only to reveal they were waiting outside of it.
“So, where ya going?” Andrea smiled leaning over with his hands in his pockets.
“They suspected this!” Cody growled getting in attack stance.
“How long will it last?” the queen walked past Sera, Arpina, and Cody. The flames were rising on her gown and eventually burst into a vertical flaming tower. Out of the flames, a large phoenix appeared expanding her wings standing present between her loved ones and the enemy. “This is our kingdom, and you are not welcomed!”
