Forth brought from a broken home,
Given around by those who won't,
Found, you were, in my mother's alcove,
Hidden underneath a stubborn oak.

Scratch and hiss was your intent,
Repel and scare was in your scent,
Though to stand alone you did not seek,
As the gentle hand pulled you free.

Clawed and bit at the hand,
You feared the wholesome touch,
A caress you thought had no land,
Suddenly bested your fierce pout.

Lack of safety rose your hair,
Being forced into the open air.
A gentle sound, thought alike,
Did not fail to catch your eye.

Curious you stepped to meet the noise,
Careful, studious, yet on the nose.
Ears raised, you stepped towards,
A sound you could not do without.

Time had passed, and your trust grew,
You identified the delicious stew.
Caress and touch became refined,
So much that you would seek it out.

Eventually, you stepped outside,
More than you had ever planned.
In this place, you had no hide,
But chose to trust another's hand.

In you came to your room,
While scared of every gloom.
Hide and find we did play,
Until you could trust the stay.

Days had passed and you learnt,
To claw upon my new bed.
Annoying as it was, you had bent
An expectation in my head.

You then learnt to leap
Across the distance of my feet.
Claw and bite did you partake,
But in it was no hate.

As the moon did rise up,
You clawed up to my side,
And rested against my gloomy eyes.
Next to me you laid,
As your dreams took you away,
You decided my my heart a stowaway.

Night ended and sun rose,
And with it, your every yawn.
Your tiny claws ripped away
At the bed where I laid.
Yet no anger was unsealed,
As I couldn't bear to see you
In any state that wasn't peaceful.

And then came time to say goodbye,
A time I knew would come.
It wasn't hard to see you be
Carried away in someone else's shape.
I should really say goodbye,
My tiny little flutterby.
But away you were sent,
As I dared not caress your head.

You will find a better place,
One without a dangerous haze.
My little heart you took, with that gaze,
Yet I don't recall giving it away.

A little cathartic poem to the kitten my mom was given by a neighbour, who was just given away. I had him for just a week, you'd think it wouldn't make me so emotional seeing him go. But here I am; crying.

Always say goodbye, dear reader.

I'm sure my Fenestasio would've liked it. I'm also sure he'll have a wonderful life.

Writing very short stories. Self-contained in each Episode, is a small story I wrote the same day. These are spontaneous, so not much thought, just a bit of writing
