Chapter 17- Cressida

Today is my birthday, and as I sit in my cozy living room, surrounded by the love and warmth of my family, I can't help but reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us to this moment.

It seems like only yesterday that my dear husband, Langley, and I made the decision to create a genetically engineered child using one of my own eggs. As an egg donor for genetically-modified embryos, I had always been curious about the potential outcomes of this process. When Percy and I decided to create Zephyr, it was not only an act of love but also a chance for me to see firsthand how my genetic material could be used to create a truly unique individual.

Zephyr has always been a special child, not just because of their unique abilities and appearance, but because of the joy and love they bring to everyone around them. From the moment they were born, I knew that they were destined for great things.

As I sit here, watching Zephyr share stories about their recent experiences at the Magnus Institute, I can't help but marvel at the incredible progress they've made over the years. They've grown from a curious, energetic child into a thoughtful, compassionate young adult, eager to make a difference in the world.

I remember the day Zephyr first told us about their encounter with Zyx, the mysterious being from another dimension. Percy and I were filled with a sense of awe and admiration, knowing that our child was embarking on an extraordinary journey of discovery and growth.

But what strikes me most about Zephyr is not their physical abilities or their encounters with the unknown, but their kindness, their empathy, and their unwavering determination to do what's right. They have faced challenges and obstacles that most of us can only imagine, and yet they continue to approach life with a sense of joy and optimism that is truly inspiring.

As I blow out the candles on my birthday cake, surrounded by the smiling faces of my loved ones, I can't help but feel a sense of gratitude and contentment. I know that the world can be a difficult and uncertain place, but with people like Zephyr in it, I have hope for a brighter future.

And so, as I make my wish and look around at the beautiful family that Percy and I have created, I am filled with a profound sense of pride and wonder. Not only have I been able to contribute to the creation of genetically-modified embryos, but I have also had the privilege of seeing one of my own eggs develop into the remarkable individual that is Zephyr. No matter what challenges lie ahead, I know that we will face them together, with love, strength, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
