Lucian Cooper
‘I have done it!’ I yelled.
A few days had passed since the tragedy had befallen us and everything was going back to its route ways. The only exception was Drew. He often secluded himself in the tent refusing to come out save for some small battles. The mood was thick and heavy but we were trying our best to move forward. One step at a time.
‘What is it,’ Raven said, coming up the hill.
‘They accepted my proposal,’ I grinned, ‘Not more fighting aimlessly,’
He smiled and nodded. This was our chance to end the war.
‘What’s the plan?’
‘We are going after the generals!’ I cried.
Raven winced and went pale. The generals were notoriously strong and difficult to subdue.
‘It's the only way we’re going to win the war,’ I said, ‘We take out the roots and the tree falls,’
‘Arlo and Iolo?’ he hissed, ‘Even… him?’
I nodded it wasn’t fair on anyone especially William but we would have to bear it.
‘They aren’t the same anymore,’ I shrugged.
‘How can you shrug!’ he exclaimed, ‘Even after what we went through together!’
I dismissed his statement with a wave of my hand. They weren’t the people we knew.
‘Tell the others to meet me in the tent after,’ I said walking off.
‘Lucian don’t you walk off! You can’t do this to them!’ he called.
Raven Raptor
He’d done it again. Jumped ahead without any consideration for everyone else. Just thinking of the “greater good”, as always. What about us? I didn’t care for anyone’s lives if I could just avoid them. I clicked my tongue, annoyed and ran after him.
‘Hey!’ I called.
He spun around on his heel and raised an eyebrow.
‘What is it Raven?’
‘Lucian,’ I huffed, ‘Call it off,’
‘What?’
‘The plan, call it off,’
He looked at me outraged. I flinched.
‘Don’t you hate seeing hundreds of lives being blown like candles everyday,’ he hissed.
I stepped back. He was boring a hole in my head. If looks could kill.
‘I do Lucian, I really do. Still isn’t this unfair to us?’
‘It’s unfair that you’re letting people die in this pointless battles just because of your fear,’
‘Lucian..I,’
‘Your a hypocrite,’ He spat, ‘You care so much about lives and yet you murder and are ready to leave these people to die?’
I took another shakey step backwards.
‘T-they,’ I stuttered, ‘They are our brothers,’
‘They are no brothers of mine,’
I looked at him helplessly as he walked away. I knew that he was right but I couldn’t accept it.
Drew Este
Lucian was buried deep into his paperwork. Maps were laid out and letters scattered everywhere. He was in a daze muttering things to himself and occasionally knocking fountain pens.
‘Lucian,’
He looked up slowly, his eyes half focussed. Lucian rubbed his eyes.
‘I heard you have a plan,’ I said.
‘Raven doesn’t agree it and William won’t,’
‘I don’t care,’ I said as I clenched my fists in determination, ‘We’re going to execute it,’
Those monsters killed Alaric. There was nothing stopping me from getting my revenge.
‘No,’
Well except maybe Lucian.
