The 4 of them walked to their room and Spirit sat down on the half straw and half wool mattress of his bed, the bottom bunk of a dark wooden log bunk bed made from wood that had not been cut or sanded down, he shared this bunk with Baror.
Spirit looked down and fidgeted his fingers out of nervousness. He was very nervous, he had done some training but not enough to stand off on his own against a dragon. Affkarr noticed Spirit and walked over to him.
“Spirit we will defeat him together, you’ll be fine, you don’t need to worry, me, Baror, and Wolfgang have fought thousands of Dragons before, this will be a piece of cake,” he said as he put his hand on Spirit’s shoulder, Spirit got startled by Afflar’s hand and jumped a little, just not enough to make any noticeable movement, “Oh, sorry did a scare you,”.
“A bit, but it’s fine I think I should be going to bed now, we have a big day ahead of us,”.
“We have some big days ahead of us,” Baror said as he peaked over the bunk hanging his body from the shoulders up, “It’ll take a good 3 days for us to hike over there,”.
“Oh great,”.
Wolfgang blew out the candles for the night and they all went to sleep for the night, as the sounds of wolves, crickets, and many other woodland critters and monsters filled the night with sound.
They woke up and put on their uniforms, the warriors were given a quick breakfast of bread, cheese, and mead. They then marched on to the forge of Brynijarr, the road there was made of dirt and surrounded by dense pine forest. As they got closer they could see the large forge made of black bricks and had multiple Norwegian flags on the roof that was surrounded by large black brick walls. The dark wooded gate fell allowing the knights to cross the moat into the forge. The forge had many pools of lava and many poured into other pools with one big pool at the bottom where the forge was suspended. The forge was habited by many elves that scurried around it. Elves made up the majority of blacksmiths because of their ability to bend both metals and lava at their will. The typical Elf was shorter than the average human with pale skin and slightly pointed ears. They had eye colors that varied from red albino, blue-grey, and pale purple. Their hair color varied from shades of red, black, and brown. The forge was made of black and dark stones, obsidian, steel, and wood. Here elves were at work crafting weapons strong enough to kill Hallbjorn the frost dragon.
Brynijarr greeted the warriors and their general, General Biarte, who led them into the forge. Brynijarr was an elf, he had gone bald but had a few stray hairs poking out from his skull. He had one pale purple eye and one white one with a scar over it which he was blind in. He was an old, experienced blacksmith who started making masterpieces for the kings of Norway in the early 8th century.
"Good morning General, I hope you and the men have a good time here, what do you want?" said Brynijarr.
"Yes, we would like to order the Lava Swords, we are having trouble with a certain Ice Dragon resurfacing."
“We have about five hundred swords to use, but be careful, these swords were specially designed to fight ice giants and ice dragons, so the blades are very hot.
"We need 250"
“Okay, each sword costs 50 gold coins, so 12,500 gold coins.
"I have 13,000 denars here," said the king as he handed over 13 bags containing a thousand denars to Brynijarr and his servants.
“Alright pleasure doing business with you sir”
“Yes, goodbye for now,”
The warriors walked to a small clearing in the woods and the general distributed the swords among the 250 of them, stressing the fact that they must not touch the blade for it is so hot it could melt through their iron armor.
