Chapter 2, Part 1: Others

(Far away, in a big room with a lot of cross shaped pillars in a grid formation, two people of unknown origin lie down near the middle of the grid at what appears to be their base sleeping somewhat peacefully when… )

(A?): (Julting upward from their sleeping position.) “ah!”

(B?): (Jolting upward as well from a?’s sudden exclamation in a light Russian accent.) “huh? What?”

(A?): (while breathing a bit heavily) “I, hu, guess ha, nightmare, but-”

(B?): (still a bit dazed from being awakened suddenly rubbing eyes.)“you.. guess?”

(A? Goes silent for a bit trying to calm down)

(A?): (Turning to b? Trying to remember everything as clearly as they can.) “Everything was good at first. I think I was in my bedroom reading a book, but then the characters' names on the pages started changing from theirs to ours. Like I think Gavin would change to yours.”

(B?): (still half asleep trying to get up from the bed roll.) “So Bradly(b?)?”

(A?): (still in the bed with their hand over their eyes.) “Yeah, but then all the words in the book would disappear. I tried to call you after that but when you answered you said in a creepy tone that you couldn't see through the darkness and ask where I was. I got scared so I hung up.”

Bradly(b?): (nearly fully awake reaching into a small bag and pulling out four granola bars and putting two in his pocket) “So you didn't even check if I was Okay?”

(Bradly starts walking back to a?)

(A?): (Looking at Bradly with a saddened and slightly annoyed look on their face) “it's not like that, Bradly, you know that.” (they pause for a sec.) “Well after I hung up I got off my bed and went for my door but when I opened it you jumpscared me, I mean it was you but it wasn't. You looked sad with these black growths all over your body, almost like mold.”

(Bradly makes it to a? And hands them a granola bar.)

Brady: (with his hand on their shoulder)“You don't need to worry about those dreams, Stacie(a?), none of them ever happened before and we haven't died yet. It's just this place messing with your mind.”

Stacie(a?): (with a worried look on her face, grabbing the granola bar.) “I know but wha-”

Bradly: “I said to not worry, we'll be fine as long as we're together. So just eat and we'll start our day.”

Stacie: (taking a bite out of the bar) “okay.”

(After they eat they get ready for the day's expedition.)
