Moonpaw opened her eyes to see that she was at fourtrees. Suddenly, she heard a rustle in the bushes. She whipped around to see a familiar shape slowly trotting out of the ferns. It was her brother, Rushkit, who had died from greencough in the camp, just before he was ready to become an apprentice. He had a dark brown tortoiseshell pelt and white socks. “Rushkit! Its you! Why are you here?” Moonpaw couldnt help but worry. She was, of course, happy to see him, but why would he be there? What if the forest was in danger, and he was there to tell her? Her thoughts were interrupted by Rushkit’s voice: “Dont worry, sister. There is nobody in danger. But there will be if you dont listen.” Moonpaw narrowed her eyes. “What do you mean?” she asked. Rushkit sighed. “Starclan has a message for you.” he mewed. Moonpaw couldnt help but feel a bit exited. She didnt dare to speak. “Two apprentices of each clan has been chosen. You are one of them. You and the other chosen one must be here at fourtrees at new moon.” Rushkit said this very wisely, she’d not expected him to sound like this. Moonpaw opened her mouth to speak, but in that moment, Rushkit began to fade away. Moonpaw quickly yelled: “Rushkit, no! Stay with me! I have missed you so much!” but it was too late.
