The next day, Oscar returned to the hospital very early. He hoped to see his father before going to class but he had to wait for his father to wake up. This took him all day. No one noticed his absence...well almost no one.
As Oscar walked down the halls, he felt something huge landing on his shoulder. Out of common sense, he refrained from making a scene in the middle of the crowd and simply slowly moved away the arm of the grizzly bear who was behind him, all smiling.
"Hi, I looked for you everywhere yesterday"
"The senior year is located on the second floor" his tone is cold. He lets go of Logan's arm and looks at him without expressing the slightest emotion. The last two days haven't been easy for him and the boy's goofy smile doesn't help at all, plus, it's the last person he wants to see.
"I know. And before you start..."
Oscar leaves him there and walks calmly as if nothing had happened.
"Hey! I'm sorry, okay?" he shouts trying to catch up with him. It seems to work because he stops suddenly and Logan almost falls on him.
"What did you say?"
"I'm sorry, for everything I said and did. I behaved like a...jerk, and I shouldn't have boasted because my family is part of the association."
"Oh no no no, you don't seem to understand. That you understood how stupid you are is great, it proves that you still have a few neurons left. On the other hand, I don't give a shit about your excuses. Looks like I wasn't clear enough. I have no intention of sympathizing with you, neither today nor tomorrow. Just don't talk to me. And if you thought for a single second that you were really bragging about your family, you were completely wrong. Everyone knows the Lane family are the scum of the association. You're just a bunch of mobsters causing trouble and if it wasn't for your money, Mrs. Walter would have gotten rid of all of you a long time ago." he says it in a low voice just enough to sound threatening. Logan, destabilized, clenches his fists.
"Y-You don't know anything about my family"
Oscar seems to be amused by the situation and continues with enthusiasm, a mischievous smile on his lips.
"On the contrary, I know a lot more than you think. Let me see, hm..." he places it on his hip and looks at him as if he was scanning him.
"Sporty and popular student, loved by everyone. Your grades should be average. If you're not hanging out at the arcade with your friends, you must be on the football field. Add the fact that you drink and only think with your dick. I guess your parents are never at home. Oh yes! They must be busy hiding corpses."
"Ah! You call me an asshole when you're much worse. It's fucking obvious that you spend your time putting others down to compensate for something in your life. I don't know why I thought I could talk to you. You're a little pest. That's why you don't have any friends" his expression is lost between laughter and annoyance. He turns around with his hands in his pockets without looking at his interlocutor and leaves via the stairs. A few faces turned but people didn't seem to pay much attention to them.
Oscar looked at him blankly, his eyes narrowed and his face red with anger.
"I hate jerks" thouhgt Oscar after running away. "He is the definition himself of a jerk. I'm glad it was just a stranger and not someone from my new school. I need to make a low profile. If something happen like last time, mother will sent me to the military. I even prefer the idea of getting married early. Anyway, they will eventually know that i am no longer..."
Logan stares into space with a satisfied face. "This guy was definitly an omega. I didn't know they could be like that but i don't mind because he is totally my type. I need to find him.
In the imaginary country of Crownvale, alphas and omegas are considered like the choosen species, the legitimates rulers of the nation. Among the numerous associations of families, Oscar Walter and Logan Lane seems to be slowly brought together by fate. Will Oscar's past allow him to accept Logan's love?
