SO many questions.

He looked at where the girls and Lapras were over in the camp.

Marcy was sitting alone with her thoughts.

Perfect, he thought.

He could tell Marcy all about the cryptic letter without Wammawink hearing.

Just in case, he looked around some more.

Wammawink was nowhere to be found, which was both perfect and slightly unnerving.

He approached Marcy, who looked like she was just exploring a great train of thought before being interrupted.

"Oh, hey there Kai! I was just wondering where you were!" she said rather brightly.

"Hi, Marcy! Wanna hear a secret?" he replied, smiling.

"You bet! Spill it!" she said in a half whisper.

And so Kai filled her in on the letter, the notebook, the cryptic warnings and Dipper not wanting Wammawink to know.

"I think you should tell her," she said.

"What has she done that's evil or suspicious since we met her?"

"Nothing yet," he replied fixatedly.

Marcy gave him a 'Really, Kai?' kind of look.

"Fine, she hasn't done anything wrong," he said at last. "But that doesn't mean I trust her yet."

"Well, you weren't hasty to trust me when we first met, that's for sure," she shot back at him, smiling.

"I guess not," he replied, not being able to help smiling back.

"Hey, Kai?" Marcy said after a while, her tone going from humorous banter to serious and worried.

"Yeah?" he replied, concerned but ready to help.

"I think I found Anne."

Wammawink had told the others she was out hunting.

Well, she technically was, but she was going to do other things too.

She checked to see if she was still alone; she was.

She got a shimmering grey crystal from one of her leafy pouches (even if they were half buried in her wool).

She tapped it thrice.

It began to glow.

"Why hello there, Wammawink!" said a familiar british voice.

"Hi, Masc," she solemnly replied.
