Oh no, this chapter was amazing! A lot of payoff for the build up for sure :') Smiley is such a good study in self-loathing/lack of self-worth overlapping with grief... I'm curious if he's simply in denial that Elayne, who loved him dearly, would have wanted him to live? Or if the thought just hadnt crossed him at all in his state because he'd already decided his life was worthless compared to hers? I wonder if we'll find out next chapter. In any case I hope Alfred yells at him.
