RECAP

Operator: "We've found a phone in James's possession. We're holding it at the base. Just come back whenever you're ready."

Ethan: "Right. Thank you, but we need to check something at James's house once again."

Operator: "Alright then."

Ethan and Luke look around the house again.

Luke goes back inside James's room and sees a screen inside one of the desk drawers.

Luke: "ETHAN! Come look at this."

Ethan walks over.

Ethan: "A screen? And it has a digital keypad."

Luke: "Let's put in the code."

Ethan puts in the code from the paper.

A screen pops out of the wall, and the keypad for the password turns into a keyboard.

The screen contains a diagram about the red fury drug.

Luke: "Woah."

Ethan: "All of our questions can be answered right here."

Chapter 9

Ethan and Luke read the diagram.

Ethan: "It seems to be a plan to distribute the drug secretly."

Luke looks at a picture of a neighborhood and sees something familiar.

Luke: "Yeah, it says 'After making red fury with the Rook Of The North-...'"

Luke remembers something and slowly steps back.

Luke: "GET OFF OF MOM!"

Ethan: "LUKE! LUKE!"

Luke looks at Ethan with a tear dropping down his face.

Luke: "Oh... sorry."

Ethan: "Are you okay?"

Luke looks to the side in silence.

Ethan: "Alright, I'll read the diagram then."

Ethan reads the diagram out loud. Ethan: "After making red fury with the Rook Of The North, we'll distribute it in the medicines we give our patients, then we can overtur-"

Ethan and Luke are brought out of the simulation.

The operator walks out of the operation room with Abel as Abel puts his phone back in his pocket.

Luke and Ethan also walk out of the simulation room.

Ethan: "WHY'D YOU TAKE US OUT?!?!"

Operator: "We got an alert of high emotional distress from Luke. We took you out just in case. Remember anything drastic that happens in there can affect you out here."

Ethan: "WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO SOLVE THE CRIME!"

Abel: "It's okay young man, this was for Luke's safety. Plus, you've done enough. You have quite the deductive skill; I can tell you now all of your deductions were correct."

Ethan: "Thank you."

Operator: "Luke, are you alright?"

Luke: "Yes, sorry I just got a flashback from something. I'm fine though, I promise."

Ethan: "I'm glad you're alright, brother."

Luke: "Thank you."

Abel and the Operator walk back into the operation room.

Ethan: "Come with me, I want you to meet my friend."

Luke: "Alright then."

Ethan and Luke walk together.

Alex: "Oh God, not them again."

Ethan: "You should've seen how we did in the simulation."

Luke smiles.

Luke: "YEAH, WE DID OUR THI-"

Alex: "I was literally watching you on the big-ass screen on the wall."

Ethan: "You were?"

Alex: "THE MAN SAID IT RIGHT BEFORE YOU STARTED."

Ethan and Luke remember. Andy: "Now enter this room and put this VR headset on, once you enter the simulation you'll be broadcasted on the screens on the walls."

Ethan and Luke: "Oh yeah."

Alex: "How can you be this dumb? I will give you credit, though. You made some great deductions at the crime scene."

Ethan: "That's thanks to all the detective anime I watch."

Alex: "And you. Luke was it? You have extremely fast hands, and you also have a good sense for finding things. Can I ask where you learned how to fight?"

Luke's smile fades away.

Luke: "I learned through videos; I practiced every day."

Alex: "If it's sensitive, you don't have to talk about it anymore."

Luke: "No no, it's fine. I actually want to fight you again. You're a fun opponent."

Luke puts his fist out for a fist bump.

Alex looks at his fist.

Ethan fist bumps him instead.

Luke: "THAT WASN'T FOR YOU."

Ethan: "I thought we were sharing a moment again."

Luke: "BUT I WASN'T EVEN TALKING TO YOU."

Ethan: "You're right."

As Ethan drops down to his knees.

Ethan: "For that..."

Alex and Luke: "SHUT UP!"

Luke puts his fist back up.

Luke: "Anyways, to our next fight."

Alex: "To our next fight."

Alex fist bumps Luke.

Andy: "Ethan and Luke have finished their simulation round. Unfortunately, it was cut short, but we've seen what we needed to see. Next up, we will have Charlotte and Nisha."

Charlotte and Nisha look at each other.

Charlotte: "Why do I have to work with... her?"

Nisha: "Can I at least get someone more useful?"

Charlotte: "I'm more useful than you'll ever be."

Nisha: "In your dreams."

Charlotte: "As if you're good enough to be in my dreams."

Andy: "Ladies, cut it out. You're not always going to be on the field with someone you like, so this is perfect. Go in the operation room and tell the operator what weapons you'd like simulated."

Nisha and Charlotte enter the operation room.

Charlotte: "I want to switch it up this time; let me get a spear."

Nisha: "I'll take a dagger."

Operator: "Alright then, just grab your body suits and enter the simulation room."

Nisha and Charlotte enter the simulation...
