Jade was jolted by the sound of glass breaking and the state of the room, resulting in Evan's anger. Pieces of shattered glass spread the room, leaving Jade hypervigilant as she pressed on her cut. They said Evan was harmless but she wasn't sure anymore, his impulsive behavior hurt her; either way, she's not trusting that guy.

"That bastard, I should've killed him when he raided my factory," Evan clicked his tongue while proceeding to light up his cigarette. It was silent as he puffed a cloud of smoke and filled the room with a pungent musk scent. He closes his eyes and it seems like nicotine acts like a tranquiliser to him. Watching a very familiar scene, Jade snickers ‘He should get therapy more than I should’.

“He went too far”, Louise said.

“Oh he went far alright, this wouldn't fucking happened if we blocked his shipments properly”, Evan huffs as he rubs his temple before glancing at Mark, who has surprisingly been quiet the whole time. “Mark… the hell have you been doing?”, Evan said but Mark stayed quiet. Evan got annoyed again, “you deaf? You had one job and yet you fucked it up. Now look, this bastard moves freely and he's selling people like a goddamn newspaper because you fucked up!”

“It wasn’t under the Azazel clan-”, the way Mark said sounded like a grumpy child. “I knew there were drugs smuggling using corpses but it wasn't linked to them… at least on the information that I got. It was under someone else, they probably collab or something...”

“Fucking hell… who else could sell pure crystal? white as hell too.” Evan's eyebrow furrowed even more. “No wonder your business doing so shit”

Mark got upset by his comment, “Give me a break, as if they didn't have billions of connections already. I messed up yeah, but this one fucking time."

If you're an outsider looking in, you might think Evan holds the high ground and is bossing Mark around. Worry not for they are in fact equally the same. The kind of expression Mark had was cold, unlike anything he displayed before. It didn't feel nice to feel this belittled especially when Evan giving out insults like free candy.

“I need you to find his whereabouts, I want to know everything even all the alarms”, Louise pulled out a stack of cash from his jacket and tossed it on the table. “Is this enough?”

Evan raises his brows as he inspects the money, "why don't Mark do it?"

Mark rolled his eyes and scoff, "The Elkhound is up my ass."

Evan erupt a loud laughter in a way of mocking Mark which made him pissed, "What the fuck did you do?"

"It's not what I did, It's what I didn't do," Mark readjusted his watch, feeling very irritated. Evan sat down, put his leg on the table and Sweety counted the money. He gave Louise a grinning face. “Finally bitting that devil ass huh? I’ll do what I can”

Louise fixes his jacket, “It’s gonna happen sooner or later”. Mark looked at Louise worriedly. He eyes Louise’s face, looking for a hint of sadness. He then turns to Jade, hiding in the corner. Louise also told Evan he would need some of his men which was easy to arrange. They both give each other a nod and the three of them exit the room.

The moment that creaky old door opened, Jade rushed in and jumped on the couch, although it was old it was still soft. She removed her socks and threw them under the coffee table. Mark jumps beside her but his broad shoulder accidentally bumps into her head. She cussed Mark and stomped on his feet, and he cried in pain. After neatly placing his stuff on the side table, Louise went out of his room "Why would The Elkhound sniff on you?" Louise asks looking slightly angry.

"Why wouldn't they, Louise? They're a bunch of pretentious bastards who do the 'right' things until it comes to their investor"

Louise's face has slightly shifted to concern. It's never a good omen if The Elkhound matches your trails, it means you will be its next target. Nonetheless, Mark brushed it off. Saying he's taking care of such matters. How so when the only way for the dog to stop prowling is by befriending the owner? The atmosphere turned glum for a moment, Louise reached for a box in the cupboard and handed it to Jade. When she lifted the top, a bunch of bandages of different sizes and some disinfectants scattered in it.

While Jade is tending to her wounds, she notices Mark is glued to his phone, probably dealing with serious matters. She hasn't really figured out what kind of person Mark really is, he seems like an underling when they met Evan earlier. It doesn't feel like it when she overheard someone he made a call just now call him 'boss'. She glances over to Louise instead who has been looking at the floor with a pensive gaze. She scratched her head in this awkward situation, 'I guess his sister is really dead' Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden tap on her shoulder;

“My kind Jade, can you tend my wound please?” Mark said with a puppy eyes expression and requested it with a cutesy tone. Jade looked absolutely disgusted, seeing a grown man act cute wasn't pleasant to her at all.

“gosh you look like a stray golden retriever who got tossed out for being ugly”

Her harsh response made Mark feel a bit hurt so he pouted his lips, “That’s so mean Jaddie... I went through so much beating just to save you"

“Shut up dog, you left me first. Ughh fine, I'll do it”, she looked displeased. On the contrary, Mark is beaming with joy. While tending to Mark's injuries, she popped a question after some hesitation, “So who is Leo? What did he do that made you guys so grumpy." Jade initially asked Mark but instead, Louise answered;

“It wasn’t just him… it’s more like the whole clan”

“You mean the Azazel clan? What are they?”

Louise sighed and sat on the couch. He ponders on how to explain it to an outsider like her in the simplest way possible, he doesn't want to talk about them much. His mouth always feels dry when mentions that name. "Let's just say, if there's a factory specialising in breeding the most monstrous people it's the Azazel clan. A bloodline full of criminal history,  they-" Something caught in his throat, and his voice cracked for a second "They... did every possible crime to ever exist, drug smuggling, human trafficking, and money laundering of course." Louise's stern face suddenly shifted when he broke down in laughter, a burst of painful laughter "even something as petty as burning down an orphanage."

Jade felt uneasy when Louise unexpectedly lost it. He's crying but yet is laughing, indeed an absurd sight when even Mark is taken aback. After a while, the laughter subsides. Louise wiped his eyes and continued off as if nothing happened, "And yeah, they're just bunch of fucktards."

"god, you're crazy aren't you?" bewildered Jade tapped on Louise's cheeks, inspecting if he had any sanity left. Louise chuckled at the light tappings and swatted her hand away, "About the damn time I do"

“Well now that you say it, it does seem like that” Mark chuckled as he huffed his cheap cigarettes. Jade tilted her head in confusion, "Huh, about the Azazels being an absolute dickhead or Louise getting crazy?" Mark only replied by shrugging and got hit by Jade for being ambiguous.

While they play around, returning each other punches- Louise’s phone rang. He picked it up and placed the phone on his ear, “What is it?”.

Evan’s hoarse voice sounded on the phone, “We found it”.

On that faithful day, Louise goes to street race with his useless housemates, Mark where they met a weird girl name Jade, a burden with nasty temper. On mutual agreements, they have decided to work together like some sort of symbiotic relationship.

Can a group of people comprised of the temperament of a relentless but cautious tiger, an aggressively reckless ocelot, and a playfulness yet hypocritical of a retriever somehow work together?

A snippet of their conversation...

"Must be nice to have breathing parents..." - Louise
"There are parents that don't breathe?" - Jade
"Yes, dead people" - Mark

A tale of a retriever, a tiger and an ocelot.
