I Died and Reincarnated with my Modified Ship in a Space Sim Game! My New Outlaw Life as a Pirate!

Chapter 6 - The Blitzkrieg Part 1

Chapter 6 - The Blitzkrieg Part 1

Apr 04, 2024

As Ubel piloted the mining ship to dock on Blitzkrieg, he couldn't shake the revelation he had learned from Munda Ek're and the other pirates.
Ubel... was reincarnated into the future.

—10 years ahead, to be exact from his game's saved file.

The news filled Ubel with a mixture of awe and apprehension. It was both fascinating and unsettling. The knowledge and experiences Ubel possessed from the game, have the possibility of being altered or never happened.

Despite his initial unease, Ubel couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement at the prospect of what lay ahead. Instead of becoming predictable which he expected, the future had become a blank canvas, full of endless possibilities and unknown consequences. The vast expanse of space in front of him had become uncharted waters in his eyes, which brought him tremendous feelings of worry and...wanderlust. He was starting to feel thankful for his choice to become a pirate. Unlike his former career in the game which locked him on a singular branch of options, his current career brought a limitless number of consequences he never encountered before.

“Scanning required, please cease engine functions.” a system notification alerted him as the self-defense system of Blitzkrieg stopped his ship from entering its docking bay. It sent several small golden drones and scanned the entire mining ship for several seconds.

“Scanning complete. Docking granted. Welcome aboard Captain.” he was welcomed by the same female robotic voice again as the massive ship opened its shields and allowed him to pass through its automated defense turrets safely.

As he landed, several flying drones then went towards his ship and automatically cleaned and fixed any damages it had.

He gazed around and saw at the docking bay the massive collection of ships that were default additions when he added Blitzkrieg to the game.
Several L-size dreadnoughts-destroyers, more M-sized frigates, and corvettes.

As well as empty fighters and bombers on the hangars, waiting for their pilots. He combined the properties and features of a supercapital carrier that he saw from other sci-fi games. The supercarrier that he saw in a videogame called HEYLO carried several destroyers into battles, dropping them in the middle of the fire and chaos which looked badass and epic for him.

And the Avatar Class Titan from one of his favorite MMO sci-fi Ev-One Online, a ship that boasts a very game-changing presence in any battle in space. He spent almost a year buying one from one of the industry corporations in that online game and was immediately in love with the ship. Especially with its devastating and apocalyptic main weapon which Ubel admittedly wanted to test and see the effects with his own eyes, in this new life.

Ubel wanted to personally ride each of the dreadnought-destroyers, frigates, and corvettes that were stored inside his Titan ship but he decided to let it go for now as he had pressing matters to attend to. He went straight to the bridge of Blitzkrieg while marveling at the interior of his massive ship. Something that he could never appreciate if he saw it behind a monitor.

As he rides an elevator, Ubel finds himself lost in thought, pondering the implications of his newfound knowledge. According to Munda and other pirates he interrogated, the Sol System was still under the control of the Union of Great Terran Republics, or UGTR, with Terra—formerly known as Earth—as its capital planet.

And the events of conflicts and struggles that had plagued the Sol System during his last playthrough of the game. The UGTR's war with the Melsolent System and the Colonial Alliance, the rebellion in the Strauss System—these were events that he had passed through in the virtual world of Pitch Black Void. All of these were now confirmed to be canon as the past events of this life.

But he needs more information.

Then while he delved deeper into the current state of affairs within the Sol System, he couldn't help but be astounded by the developments that had occurred in the 10 years since his last save point.

The UGTR had somehow emerged victorious in their war against the Colonial Alliance, reclaiming control over the rebellious Strauss System and even overtaking the Melsolent System. Then the Colonial Alliance, threatened by the growing influence and territory of the UGTR, established defensive pacts with all neutral sovereigns that caused the encirclement of the UGTR.

"It's incredible," Ubel remarked, shaking his head in disbelief. "To think that so much has changed in just a decade."

"But it seems that the UGTR isn't resting on their laurels," he told himself. "They've been busy building new stellar stations, fortifying their defenses around strategic planets across their sectors."

Ubel frowned, his mind racing with the implications of UGTR's actions.

"It sounds like they're preparing for something big," he mused. "Maybe they're anticipating another conflict with the Alliance?"

He was also told that the UGTR has been tightening its grip on their allied systems by directly building jump gates, ensuring complete control over interstellar travel within their sphere of influence. It was clear that they were taking steps to consolidate their power and assert their dominance over other neighboring systems that were still trying to remain neutral.

But when he asked about the Alliance's reactions to UGTR aggression, he received no reply. The Demonic Monkeys never heard anything from the Alliance because they avoided their systems so far. Unlike UGTR who have a separate entity for handling outlaws, the Alliance uses its navy and military might to crush down any outlaw that sticks out. One of the main reasons why aside from the abandoned sectors, UGTR sectors have the second largest number of outlaws scouring their systems.

Despite not getting enough answers, there was one thing clear—the tensions between the UGTR and the Alliance were reaching a boiling point. With one of the most powerful factions making bold moves to expand their influence and assert their dominance, it seemed inevitable that conflict would soon erupt once again.

And now, faced with the reality that these events were not confined to the realm of a video game, Ubel couldn't help but wonder what role he would play in the unfolding conflict of the future. He still didn’t know the reason why he was reincarnated in this life.

If this was the same plot as those isekai light novels he had read, he would already be getting some kind of message or even a god appearing in front of him. He also tried a few times to scream STATUS SCREEN or STATUS to test the absurd possibility but to no avail, much to his embarrassment.

He tried insulting the names of all the gods he could remember to try to tempt them in making contact with them which also gave him another reason to dig a hole and hide there for a while.

It was just like he was reincarnated in the parallel universe where his life in the game and the game itself was a living universe and he was transferred here for some universe bullshit reason that he still couldn’t comprehend.

He also thought about the possibility of this being a result of karma but he dismissed that idea and thought. For he was neither a good nor bad person, just realistic in his past life. He tried to take some kind of logical reasoning out of his situation but found no reasonable idea that could explain his reincarnation.
