Dead Man's card

King of Underworld

King of Underworld

Apr 04, 2024

The young master of Grey Mansion, Aiden Grey, a boy of four who seemed to be too mature and poised for his age, found himself fixated on the test ride track of Sydney Ignites, his gaze distant and contemplative.

"Who's that kid? He's always hanging around the track," remarked one of the mechanics, casting a curious glance at Aiden.

"Not sure, but he seems drawn to racing," observed a coworker.

"I don't think so, he'll not be here if others do the test ride. His presence is reserved only for Ms. Grace," the man huffed.

The latter laughed at him and said, "Don't say you are jealous over the little boy, and if Dexter finds that you are aiming hearts at his precious daughter, he will literally castrate you".

Hearing this, the man bonked the spanner in his hand at the latter's head.

"Ouch... what was that for", yelped the other, rubbing his sore noggin.

The man said sternly, "Ms. Grace is someone I look up to, so stop spouting nonsense out of your dirty mouth".

Meanwhile, the little boy looked dejected and murmured, "Seems like she is not here today" and turned around to leave.

Back at the Grey Mansion, servants scoured every nook and corner of the mansion in search of their young master. In the main hall, Raven Grey, the mansion's enigmatic owner, lounged on the sofa, savouring his espresso with a demeanour as dark and brooding as his soul.

He clads in a white shirt and black pants devoid of wrinkles. The top two buttons were undone, showing his inverted triangular chest, which looked tan and dripping honey. His every movement screamed danger as he held the cup in a tight grip.

The butler sighed, eyeing the treasured tea set with pity, and ordered a maid to check the young master's room once more.

Ascending the stairs, the maid entered the corridor leading to Aiden's bedroom. Opening the door, she was taken aback to find the boy in blue pajamas seated casually on the expansive bed. His midnight dark hair looked messy, like he had just woken up from his sleep.

The maid's eyes widened as she couldn't believe what was before her. This is because when she searched for the young master before, he was not in the room, but now he is. She rushed back to inform the butler about the young master's presence.

Meanwhile, Aiden smirked mischievously. He heard a light thud near the window, where the curtains billowed in the wind. A fleeting shadow danced on the glass pane before vanishing.

Fixing the invisible intruder with a warning glare, Aiden spoke in a tone laced with threat, "Keep your mouth shut. If you breathe a word of my absence to Dad, say goodbye to this weekend's trip to Greta's bird shop."

The shadow retreated, and just then, Aiden's father, Raven Grey, appeared in the doorway, his expression stern.

"Aiden"

He heard the crisp voice of his father, who is now standing in front of his bedroom door, which was left open by the maid, who left in a hurry.

He gave him a stern look and asked "Mind telling me where did you go so early in this morning"

Throwing off the blanket, Aiden sprang from the bed with a swift motion, meeting his father's gaze head-on. He placed his hand on his waist and lifted his chin defiantly. He projected an air of fearlessness uncommon for one so young.

In Worcester City, only one besides the senior Mr. Grey possessed the audacity to stand toe-to-toe and lock eyes with the underworld king — young Aiden Grey.

Young Aiden had guts. I'll give him that.

In the dim, desolate confines of an abandoned subway, a man stumbled, his grasp unsteady on a half-empty bottle of alcohol. His once-groomed appearance now betrayed by overgrown stubble and disheveled hair, his bloodshot eyes bore the weight of endless tears.

As he faltered, a jagged stone sliced across his forehead, drawing a trickle of blood. Yet, the physical pain paled in comparison to the anguish gripping his heart.

Slumping against the cold, graffiti-stained walls, he gazed vacantly at the oppressive sky, tears silently tracing down his cheeks. With a heavy heart, he shut his eyes, only for fresh waves of despair to wrench anguished sobs from his chest. In a fit of anguish, he hurled the bottle, shattering it against the unforgiving concrete, mirroring the shattered pieces of his soul.

A piercing scream shattered the silence, jolting him from his desolation. Instinctively, he stumbled toward the source, his vision blurred by the enveloping darkness. Guided by the cries, he pressed forward, his steps faltering but resolute.

Each scream pierced the air like a dagger, leading him to a decrepit shed at the end of the subway. With a door already splintered, he entered, his gaze sweeping over the rusty remnants of forgotten machinery and discarded debris.

A sickening squelch beneath his shoe drew his attention downward, revealing a pool of crimson staining the ground. His breath hitched, dread coursing through his veins as he followed the macabre trail, his heart pounding in his ears.

And then, he beheld the horror before him, a scene so grotesque it froze him in terror.

He retreated back with eyes full of fear before asking, "Wh... wh... what are you doing?".

"Please… help me."
