**RECAP**

Gale: "I-I-I-I Made it!"

Charlotte: "Yes! Now we have to find our names"

Nisha: "I hope we made it"

Charlotte: "Of course I did, I don't know about you."

Nisha clenches her fist

Ethan: "Hello again , Gale right?"

Gale: "Y-y-yes, I-I-I-I remember y-y-you"

Ethan: "I don't think I gave you my name before, but I'm Masamune"

Alex: "Oh Ethan! Thanks for keeping her here"

Ethan: "Why me?"

Ethan drops to his hands and knees

Alex: "Hey Gale, I have to talk to you"

Gale: "hm?"

Alex takes out the paper the hooded man gave him

Gale's eyes open wide

Gale: "Who gave you this?"

Chapter 17

Alex: "Do you know something?"

Gale: "This is a code me and my brother used to use when we were kids. We used to play a lot of games as kids and deciphering these codes were one of them"

Alex: "So that's who gave me this?"

Gale: "Well, I don't know yet. What did the code say?"

Alex: "It said "Tell Gale I'm ok. They're keeping me from her" "

Gale's eyes widen

Gale: "It has to be him, that's my brother"

Alex: "When's the last time you saw him?"

Gale: "Since he joined the police. That was about 9 years ago"

Alex: *What is Tek City Police Department hiding?* Alex thinks to himself

Alex:" Maybe we can get you two in contact now that we're officers. Tell me his name and maybe I can get info for you if I run into him again"

Gale: "My brother's name is Gill Keyosa"

Alex: "Noted"

*Meanwhile*

Nisha: "YES I MADE IT!"

Nisha

Nisha: "Maybe we should've looked from the beginning of the boards instead of the end of them"

Nothing but silence follows

Nisha: "Charlotte?"

Charlotte: "I didn't make it"

Nisha: "What?"

Charlotte: "I didn't make it"

Charlotte puts her mirror in her bag and slides down the wall with tears flooding her eyes

Charlotte: *How will I know the officer that killed my dad if I don't make it?* Charlotte thinks to herself

Nisha: "It's alri-"

Charlotte: "Leave me alone"

Nisha: "Bu-"

Charlotte: "Please"

Nisha: "Alright then"

Years ago...

Charlotte: "When's dad gonna get out?"

Charlie: "He has to keep serving his time honey" while looking in the mirror

Charlotte: "But it's been 4 years"

Charlie: "All your actions have consequences sweetie, it's simply what your father is dealing with now"

Charlotte: "But can't we visit him ?"

Charlie:" No , they won't let us , he's in the TCPD special chamber with all the other notorious criminals. They're all threats , so contact with anyone outside of their cell can spell doom for all of us"

Charlotte: "I just want to see father again" as tears drop down her face

Charlie: "One day honey , now get ready for school"

As she gently puts the mirror down with spots of water dropping on it

Charlotte Walks out the door to go to the school bus

Charlotte: "Later mom!"

Charlie: "WAIT!"

The bus driver stops

Charlie hands Charlotte another Mirror

Charlie: "Remember you are beautiful , not more than me though"

Charlotte: "Thank you mom"

Charlotte gets on the bus and looks at herself in the mirror the entire ride

*Dad when will I get to see you again* Charlotte thinks to herself

*Charlotte reaches school*

Teacher: "Alright class flip to page 102..."

Student 1: "Look at that girl over there, what is she doing?"

Student 2: "why is she looking in the mirror like that she's not all that"

The students are looking at a girl in class

She seems very self absorbed in the mirror

Gale looks over really quick and looks back down at her book

Charlotte: "What are you dickheads looking at? While loudly popping gum"

Student 1 and 2: "WHO YOU CALLING A DICKHEAD?!"

Charlotte: "awww look at the lovers speaking at the same time how cute"

Student 1 and 2: "WE AIN'T LOVERS"

Charlotte: "awww you did it again , when's the marriage? "

Teacher stops and tells them

"If you're going to cause trouble then take it outside the classroom"

Charlotte and the 2 students leave

Everyone knows what's about to happen

Gale raises her hand

Gale: "Sir I really have to use the bathroom"

Teacher: "Go ahead , take the hall pass"

Gale takes the hall pass and finds Charlotte

But hides behind the corner to see what they're doing

Student 1: "You really think we're gonna let you walk free after talking to us like that?"

Charlotte: " I'm sorry I offended you and your boyfriend.... Not really" as she laughs

Student 2 throws a punch from behind and Charlotte grabs his hand and throws him over her shoulder

Student 1 throws a punch from the front and Charlotte dodges to the side

She tries to counter with a kick but the kid on the ground grabbed her leg making her stumble a little bit

Student 1 takes the advantage and lands a clean hit on Charlotte

Student 2 gets up and grabs her from behind

Student 1 is throwing multiple punches

Gale runs in grabs student 1 by the neck and pulls him towards her foot which she put out to trip him

Student 2 pushes Charlotte to the side and throws a punch at gale

Gale dodges , swiftly gets behind him and wraps the hall pass she had around his neck

Student 2 taps out but gale continues to choke him with the hall pass until he passes out

With a cold stare , she looks at student 1 and he runs away

Charlotte: "I could've handled them myself"

Gale: " I..I...I'm so s..s..sorry , I didn't m..m..mean to jump in

Charlotte: *SHE JUST BEAT THEIR ASS WHY IS SHE NERVOUS?!?!* she thought to herself

Charlotte:"Are you okay why are you stuttering???"

Gale: "I'm s-s-sorry"

Charlotte: "STOP APOLOGIZING!"

Gale:"Sorry"

Charlotte face palms

Charlotte:"you're weird"

Gale puts her head down seeing as she's used to these comments

Charlotte: "You're cool though. Thanks for helping me "

Gale: "Y-y-you're welcome "

Charlotte and gale walk back to class

Charlotte: "Where did you learn how to fight?"

Gale: "I-I-I just watch a-a-lot of k-kung fu movies"

Charlotte: "No way you're that good off of just watching movies"

Gale: "I-I-I just I-I-imitate what I s-s-see"

Charlotte: "you know what , let's be friends. You're good at fighting , not better than me though but I like you!"

Gale looks at her shyly

Gale:"f-f-riends?"

Charlotte: "yeah what do you say?!"

Gale: O-o-okay

After the brawl happened and school finished

Charlotte was in her after school jiu jitsu club

After finishing her session

She took the city bus home

When she arrived , she noticed her mom's mirror was still in the same place as she left it in the morning

*The mirror isn't in my mom's hands? That's not normal * Charlotte thought to herself

She walked up to the mirror and noticed spots of water on the glass

*Is mother okay?!?!* Charlotte thinks and runs to her mothers room

Charlotte: "MOM!" As she gazed upon her mom lying on the floor surrounded by tissues and bottles of alcohol

Charlie opens her eyes a little bit and says

"Charlotte there's something I've been keeping from you , but you're old enough now so I can tell you."

Charlotte:"What is it?"

Charlie:"Your father , he was locked in the TCPD Special Chamber , but after the first month he was locked in there , he was killed in his cell"

Charlotte burst into tears as Charlie hugs her for comfort

Charlie: "I didn't know how to break the news to you since you were only 10 when he got arrested , but I couldn't hold it in for any longer. 4 years was enough"

*This whole time I wanted to become a Tek City Police Officer because I wanted to see my dad again , but now I have to know his killer* Charlotte thinks to herself

*The next day*

Charlotte and Gale meet each other at school again

Charlotte: "GALE!" She screams while still looking in the mirror

Gale:"H-h-hey Charlotte"

Charlotte puts the mirror in her bag and her tone shifts

Charlotte:"Are you serious about joining the police gale ?"

Gale: "I-I-I have m-m-my reasons... a-a-and I want to s-s-support you. Y-y-you're m-m-my first f-friend"

Charlotte switches back to her normal tone as she feels like she can relate to gale

Charlotte: "we're friends now but we never exchanged numbers , that was a lot of fighting yesterday I guess we got side tracked"

Gale and Charlotte exchange numbers

Gale: "I-I-I thought y-y-your mirror was b-b-broken though"

Present

Charlotte: "All for nothing huh?"

Nisha: "GALE!"

Gale: "Thanks for all this Alex, also here's my number"

Gale gives Alex her number

Alex: "I'll let you know if anything pops up"

Gale: "Thank you really"

Nisha finds Gale

Nisha: "Gale"

Gale: "Y-y-y-yes?"

Nisha: "Charlotte.... She didn't make it"

Gale: "W—w-w-w-what?!?!"

Nisha: "She's bawling right now and I really don't know what to say to her"

Gale: "Let's go back to her right now"

Nisha:"Alright"

Gale follows Nisha to Charlotte

Charlotte is still sitting down against the wall crying with her face against her knees

Gale: "N-n-Nisha, can you p-p-please let us t-t-talk a-a-alone"

Nisha: "No problem"

Nisha walks away

Gale takes a deep breath and sits down next to Charlotte

Gale: "I heard what happened"

Charlotte: "I failed. This was my chance to find who killed my father"

Gale: "Your father?"

Charlotte: "Gale. I never told you my reasoning for wanting to become a cop"

Gale: "You're right, I never thought about that until now"

Charlotte: "My father was a criminal. He was part of the 5 Yosai's forces but was caught and taken to TCPD's special chamber because he was too dangerous to have ANY outside contact even with other prisoners. I thought he was still alive in there, but apparently he was killed, probably by another prisoner."

Gale:"Wow...how come you've never told me?"

Charlotte: "For the same reason you didn't tell me, I didn't want to burden you either"

Gale: "Maybe we can ask Officer Nado about something"

Charlotte: "You're right, it's not over yet"

Nisha: "Already ahead of you"

Andy: "What would you like to ask?"

Charlotte: "Is there any way for me to be included in the force"

Andy: "What place did you make on the written test?"

Charlotte: "20th"

Andy: "Do you remember what I said?"

Charlotte thinks about it

Andy: "Anyone who passes the written test can still be a part of the force but only for the in house jobs like receptionist or you can be one of our operators. So you can still work for us but not on the field. Unfortunately though, you'll have to wait until the next Police Entry Competition to join us."

Charlotte: "May I ask why I didn't make it?"

Andy: "If I remember correctly, the reasoning was this "Charlotte was very skilled, smart, and a great fighter. But she doesn't work too well when it comes to being on a team and when it comes to working with us you NEED to have great teamwork and that's why every mission requires two officers now." "

Charlotte: "I understand , thank you"

Andy walks away

Gale: "You can still be part of the police, I'll help you fulfill your task. I promise"

Nisha: "Me too, whatever that task is"

Charlotte: "Thank you guys"

Nisha: "Gale, your stutter. It's gone"

Gale: "W-w-w-wwait h-h-huh?!?!?!"

Nisha: "Never mind"

Luke: "I saw you give her your phone"

Ethan: "Looks like someone's in loooooooove"

Alex: "Stop being dumbasses"

Luke: "Alex and Gale sitting in a tree K-I-s-s-I-n-g"

Alex: "I'M NOT IN LOVE"

Ethan: "No need to lie Alex, that's not fitting of a warrior, for that you must commit shippuku"

Alex: "It's "seppuku" "

Ethan: "You're right. I cannot live after such a foolish mistake. For that..."

Alex walks away

Andy on the megaphone: "Everyone! If you've succeeded in becoming a Tek City Police Officer, congrats. If not I commend your attempt. You can try again once we hold our next entry competition. Also if you HAVE become an officer, you will receive an email for a tour and training to get you used to the ropes around here. Otherwise go home and rest because once you start work it's going to be real busy."
