Episode : 2 Dungeon Break Part - 1
[Guardians Guild - Zenith City]
A man furiously slammed a file on desk, the table groaning under the impact. "Another Gate breach, this time in Sector C. Slayers barely contained it."
[Rowan Steel - Vice Guildleader of Guardians]
The man at the desk slowly walked to the glass wall and looked out at the city, "Casualties?"
"Minimal, thankfully. But these attacks are getting more frequent, more audacious."
Rowan leaned closer, voice dropping. "Remember the rumors Zephyr? About a Slayer gone rogue, one who can manipulate the Gates themselves?"
Zephyr steepled his fingers. "Whispers. Nothing concrete."
"But what if there's truth to them? We need to prepare for a new kind of threat."
Zephyr sighed, rubbing his temples. "We're stretched thin as it is. The Awakening Tests are upon us, but who knows if they'll yield enough recruits with the right potential?"
Rowan gripped his hand. "If this keeps escalating, Zephyr... it'll be another nightmare. Just like ten years ago."
Zephyr met his gaze, unwavering. "No. Not on our watch."
"But if this goes on-"
"that won't happen. I won't let it. Remember why we formed this guild?"
A flicker of shared memory passed between them.
"We made a vow to prevent another nightmare like ten years ago. As the number one guild in the nation, it's our responsibility – the responsibility of guardians – to act."
[ Zephyr Storm - Guildleader of the Guardians ]
Suddenly a figure came running for the rescue. "Everyone please evacuate to a safe location!"
"Hey kid, don't just stand there! Help me evacuate the civilians. I'll do my best to stop the beast."
"Alright!" Sey shouted, "Everyone please don't push! Stay calm and evacuate this way," Sey directed the crowd.
Most of the people were evacuated. The slayer did a decent amount of damage, but he couldn't stop the beast.
"It's no use," sey muttered. "He must be a E or D rank slayer. He knows he can't defeat it, but he's keeping his ground against the beast."
With its fierce claws, the beast shattered the man's sword.
"No... This couldn't be," the man rasped.
With another blow, the man went flying.
The man looked at Sey and said in a low voice, "Please... take this." He handed his broken sword to Sey. "And run away."
"But you! I can't leave you here!"
"I guess this is it for me," the man rasped. "And I don't regret dying now. It's a Slayer's duty to protect the civilians. Now please, make a run for it." The man handed his broken sword to Sey.
"No, I'm not running away," Sey said with determination. "I can't leave you here, If I run away now, I'll regret it for as long as I live."
