“How are you today, Aston?” I asked my new roommate, looking at him from my desk. Since I had the biggest room, he had to share with me until he was better.
“Fine, thank you.” He mumbled, his British accent making it sound so posh. I cocked my head to the side as if to say really? He shrugged from his bed and I heard a knock at the door.
“Is that Aurielle?” I asked him and he nodded slightly, looking embarrassed. “Whaddya want now?”
“N-nothing! Ger just said you have a visitor at the door.”
“Oh, okay.” I walked out to the kitchen and opened the door- to the pantry, before opening the front door to see.. No one. No one at all.
“AURIELLE!” I barked and stormed back up to my room, only to see the two making out in Aston’s bed. “OH- I’ll leave you two to it! Bye!”
Knocking on Austin’s door, the one diagonal from mine, I wondered if he was here or out on a mission. “Austy!”
“Mavvy.” He groaned, opening the door, his eyes ridden with sleep.
“Did you just wake up? It’s 1pm already, kid.” I smacked the back of his head playfully and he grunted. He looked like crap. “Are you sick?”
“No. Just tired.” He replied, closing the door behind me when I walked in.
“Well, just to let you know, Aurielle and Aston are making out in my room.” I told him nonchalantly, shrugging when he looked at me with wide-eyes.
“They’ve hated each other since high-school! For god’s sake-” He kept rambling on about something else but he was inaudible. My phone buzzed, another text from Nylah. I’d received them throughout the afternoon of yesterday and this morning.

I looked up from my phone to see Austin gone. Nowhere at all. I spun around to the door. Wide open. I instantly regretted telling him what his sister was doing. I tip-toed out into the hallway to see Austin with his phone in hand, recording them before sneaking off downstairs to where the girls slept. I was now worried. I followed him, making sure he knew I was there.
“Yuka! Giselle, Ger, come see this!” The three huddled around him in the living room where he played the clip for them to see.
“Oh. Good for them.” The leader of our group said and walked back into the kitchen to where his tea was.
“Drama. And in your room Mav? Must suck.” Giselle snorted, taking a sip of the tea that was in her hand, before strutting off with Yuka.
“Stay quiet about this as well. They only think I know.” I warned and they all nodded. But I could see a smirk on Giselle’s face from the other side of the room, the cheekiness only telling me without words she’d tell her best friend she knew her ‘secret' that was not a secret.
I went back up to my room. My room that is. Only to see the once happy couple now in a brawl.
“AURIELLE GET OFF HIM! HE WAS HALF DEAD A FEW DAYS AGO!” I screamed, ripping her off him. “GERONIMO!” I called, trying to get him to help. “Grab Aston!” I instructed when he got up.
“Aston Williams! What are you doing? You’re on bedrest!” He hissed and chucked him into bed, making him land with a loud thunk.
“She called me inbred!”
“Must make you both inbred since you were kissing just 5 damned minutes ago!” Geronimo retorted and strutted out of my room, phone in hand.
“Oh my god he’s calling my father now!” Aurielle groaned and hid under my bed sheets.
“Why is that so bad?” I questioned.
“He owns Zomji, all of it.” She told me and I finally realised what she meant.
“So like the hackers, assassins and chainleaders?”
“Yes! My parents are mafia leaders.”
“O-oh.” Aurielle just got a whole lot scarier. I got out of the room because I could see the glint of anger in Aston’s eyes. And luckily I did leave, because they started having a yelling match as soon as I was out the door.

It’d been a day since I was last in my room. It was now Aston and Aurielle’s room. Punishment from Geronimo was they had to spend time with each other until they stopped. So I was now situated in Aurie’s room. The purple LED lights flashing on and off. How did the girl sleep with these? I tried finding the remote but came to no avail, so I was left with flashing lights while I slept. I preferred my room. Natural lighting, high up and this one was just… Depressing.

Wednesday came around and after a temporary side mission-taking down a mafia figure, it took all seven of us plus some of the hackers- I was now seated across from Nylah at the Boudoir, a tequila in hand.
“You drink alcohol, or no?” My voice wasn’t mine when I talked to her.
“Yeah, just not in public. I get tipsy easily.” She explained. I nodded. The lights reflected off her brunette hair and made it shine so beautifully. I had my contacts in again and I could feel something was wrong with them.
“May I excuse myself?” Nylah gestured her hand to the men’s room and I got up to go there, leaving my messenger bag in the chair.
This place was fancy and you could tell from just the bathrooms. Marble sinks, marble walls, porcelain toilets. Fully porcelain. I wasn’t here to piss though. I had important business. I stood in front of the mirror, fiddling with my contact lenses till they sat right, they never did. It was like a constant itch in my eyes, annoying me. I couldn’t go out without them though, Nylah would see my eyes. The disgusting, creepy eyes that made most people stay away from me. My bag was in my seat, so I could hopefully keep these annoying contacts in for the time being until I had the second pair. I walked out of the bathroom.
