Mr. Carry has been patiently sitting through Layans speech, dreadfully waiting for the moment he would inevitably disappoint them with the truth. He lets out a sigh. “C'mon, Layan… you know that isn’t possible… Not as long as you know who is still around…” Mr, Carry doesn’t like to call people out, but everyone knew exactly who he was talking about. Audrey Willson. Or as she liked to call herself; ‘The Greatest Trumpet Player In The WORLD’ 

“Her parents pay the school more money in a month to keep the band out of school, than we could ever raise in a year to get it back in the program.” He says exasperated. “AND FOR GOOD REASON” Speak of the devil. The dreaded princess Audrey Willson herself enters angrily. Her ballgown is stuck in the doorway-and the massive marching band that follows her everywhere is having trouble entering because of this. They sound pretty bad too, I envy you for being deaf to this performance that I’m being subjected to… She screams something angrily, but her band is playing so loud that no one can hear her. She storms off and everyone is left confused, as they didn’t hear a thing that was said. “Ugh, I hate the stupid 6,000-member marching band that follows her around everywhere for dramatic effect…” The majority nods. “OUR SCHOOL IS SO SMALL, HOW DO THEY EVEN FIT IN HERE?!” It almost seems like Roxy is trying to get angry-and for good reason oh my GOD. Does all the music in this school suck? When I’m done narrating this disaster I’m going to listen to some freakin’ Bruno Mars… Layan attempts to calm everyone down… again. “As I was saying! We all have common dreams in here, and we can’t just let one person-” 

“PLUS 6,000-you forgot about her MARCHING BAND-” 

“WE CAN’T LET 6,001 people step in the way of our dreams! Which is why I think that the first step we should take as a group… is to sign up for the upcoming talent show!” People look up with surprise and excitement. “She can’t prevent us from doing that, right?!” Roxy grins. A select few are still doubtful. One person raises their hand and says: 

“Want are we even gonna play, Hot Cross Buns?-”

“HEY!” Roxy interrupts.

“Don’t be that one person who destroys our hope right when we get it back!” 

“We’ll just perform the song we're practicing now,” Layan reassures.

Roxy cuts him off again; “Love your enthusiasm Layan, but um… One issue with your plan; we have one percussionist, and it’s me. I mean yeah sure, I can play six different instruments simultaneously-I’m holding like nine different types of mallets here, but this song requires a crucial triangle part in it as well. And as much as I love the unique taste of the bass drum stick in my mouth…seven??? Now that is just an excessive amount of instruments to play at once…”

“Let’s put flyers up around the school! ‘Percussionists needed for the talent show!’ We’ll get more people in the back, we WILL make this work” Layan woke up feeling determined today. His attitude is contagious. Yeesh. All this hopeful stuff is really tiring me out. I signed up to narrate a comedy. This is just cheesy ugh.
