For the next two weeks, that whole group practiced everyday at school. Each day sounded better than the last, and even Mr. Carry said they sounded good. The only problem was Jake and Jakeson, no matter how anyone tried to teach them, they just didn’t understand anything. Roxy pulled them to the side in the middle of one of their rehearsals and tried to understand what was going through their minds… if anything at all.

“Heya, Jakes. Mind if I have a word with yall for a bit?” They stare at her.

“So uh… *ahem* how do you like it here in our band?” They stare.

Roxy gets frustrated instantly. “AXEL! GET OVER HERE I NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN SPEAK FLUENT IDIOT!”

“GEEZ FINE! YOU DON’T HAVE TO SHOUT AT ME!!!” he screamed back.

“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, YOU SHOUT AT EVERYONE ALL DAY LONG! SO STOP BEING ANNOYING FOR FIVE SECONDS AND GET OVER HERE ALREADY!” The Jakes are unaffected. 

“AUGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!” Axel screams into the sky, and punches the wall. “AUGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!” he screams again, because he’s not very strong and just messed up his fist really badly. 

Roxy face palms. “Okay you know what? Nevermind. He’s impossible to deal with. Maybe even more impossible than YOU two… Could you tell me, why do you guys like drumming? Why are you even here?” she asked politely.

The Jakes look at each other, then back at Roxy.

“Well I like… uh. When the stick makes a loud noise…” said Jake.

“I like uhhh… when that happens too.” said Jakeson. God I still can’t get over how stupid his name is… Roxy face palms…again. If she keeps this up she’s probably going to get permanent brain damage. 

“Well, you know how you can make a better loud noise? By using your brains…”

Their gaze widens. They love loud noises. If society were a nice guy, the Jakes would be making loud noises all day. They stare, but this time it's different. This time it’s the stare of enlightenment. The Jakes get their sticks ready, and just when they are about to do the impossible, the door slams open. Everyone turns and looks in horror. 

It was Audrey Willson, and her rage made Axel’s look like a cute cuddly bunny. 

“YOU PEOPLE” she screamed.

“Well if it isn’t the evil queen.” Roxy says exasperated. Audrey stomps in uninvited with her obnoxious high heels.

“You guys think you can just start a new secret band right under my nose?! WITHOUT ME NOTICING?!” 

“Well yeah, I mean that’s what we've been doing for the past three weeks-”

“HA! I WOULD NEVER ALLOW IT! How many times do I have to do this?” She laughs a wicked laugh. “You will absolutely NOT be starting a band in Brooklyn High! I am the greatest trumpet player… in not just the world… but the UNIVERSE!!! Does my reputation mean NOTHING to you??? If there was a band in this school, it would rival my performances! I’LL be at the center of attention for the talent show… and nobody, not even BATMAN CAN STOP ME!!!” Batman stares at her. It’s not even directed at me and even I’m scared! She makes her way out, leaving a trail of red glitter from her massive ball gown.

“Don’t let her get to you, guys. We're entering that talent show, and she has no power over that.” Layan reassures everyone.
