Although it was just a flash of pink, Kai could've sworn it was Wammawink.

He decided to go to where he saw it last, then look for any tracks.

He gently moved prehistoric-sized ferns from his immediate path, stepped carefully over tangled nettles and swerved around towering tree trunks.

This was the place.

Kai looked around for anything that could be of use to him.

Aha! 

A strand of pink. 

At first he thought it was string or yarn or something, but it was too wild.

Wool.

He looked around it, searching behind every turn and leaf.

Nothing...

As he turned away, something glinted from the corner of his eye.

This could lead him to something big! Mabye!

He walked towards it, the path already devoid of grass or nettles.

A small clearing. This one was natural.

The glint came from a small white-grey gemstone, half buried in the dirt.

He picked the muddy gem up from the wet ground.

The gem was a parallelogram kind of diamond shape, muddy and small enough to hold between two fingers.

As he was wiping the dirt off of his little crystal, there was a rustling behind him.

He turned.
