Merial Pov
The knights moved with expert precision, and while they didn’t have even close to the speed of those people with glowing marks from my dreams they still were stronger than any human on earth.
With swords moving like flashes they all hurdled a flurry of swings at Khaos. Khaos however, while moving at speeds I could easily eclipse, easily dodged each and every attack. Biting his time until an opportunity to counter attack came.
Khaos seemed to be being pushed to the side of the bridge however, being driven into a corner would definitely be the death of him, well i thought it would but Khaos simply used the fact that they were all coming towards him as an opportunity to push four off the edge.
The others quickly backed off, they had seen half of them be through a ledge and were smart enough to know it wasn’t a good idea to go there. Though Khaos took advantage of this fear too.
He used the fact of them being so evasive on the edge of the bridge to force them to clump together next to the entrance they just came through. Then when trying to go through the door, they found it locked.
Khaos simply smiled at them, no words of intimidation. They knew all too well the certainty of their deaths, but like a rat trapped in a corner they all tried their best to charge him at once. Khaos simply waited till they came to the right spot, then raised his sword for it to go directly through the first knight's eye hole, then did the same to another.
Sweat was running down Khaos’ face now. A frail body has its limits. But that still didn’t deter Khaos who continued using every single mistake or emotion against the one until Khaos won. Exhausted yes, but not a scratch on him.
Walking up to the group of us Khaos locked his eyes on me then said. “Girl, if you wish to become strong and survive here. Follow me, the rest of you leave now.”
Khaos walked past us and gestured for me to follow and I did. He said I needed his help to survive, but what I really wanted was to go back home.
The countless overwhelming emotions had bled out of me within the not even half hour since I woke up and I had run out of them, and so they all disappeared into nothing.
The next 10 minutes of walking were silent. Then after sorting some of my emotions out I asked. “You said my world was a void world. What does that mean and how do I get back?”
Khaos took a half breath to respond. “A void world is a world without aether nor mana and from what I know it's not feasibly possible to travel to a void world.”
I took a second to process this then asked in a detached tone. “So I'm stuck here?”
I didn’t know how I fully felt about it, sure it would be nice to get rid of all the pressure on me but I would never see my family or friends again.
“You are.” Khaos responded.
“So why are you helping me now then? Also why did you let all those other people go? They could have helped us!” I questioned.
“I’m helping you because there is something I need you for, not now. Not for a long time and for driving the others away. I simply don’t like humans, that's all.” Khaos said, with that constant even tone.
“Aren’t you human?” I immediately responded.
Khaos slightly chuckled at this. “Girl, while this vessel might be the weakest I have seen, I am still a god.”
A god? What? Then said “Huh, so you’re a god? That's pretty pretentious, like I understand you’re powerful and all but like…”
“I understand what you mean, god is what the people who speak this language call it. I guess transcendent is more accurate but nonetheless people call it a god.” Khaos answered
“So what is a ‘transcendent’ then?” I asked, my curiosity piqued.
Khaos considered this for a second. “It's when someone has undergone awakening or enlightenment.” Khaos then paused for a second before continuing “I will explain more later, there are lots of things you need to learn. Learning about magic is a long process, and asking questions in this way will only make it more difficult to understand.”
That's fair I suppose, learning my major which was maths took well over a decade all in all. Learning about a whole new world would take a long time, though I was intrigued as to how little I was affected by all this.
There would be plenty of time to learn it all though,
