Week One
I knew going into this it wouldn't be easy but when you one day wake up to explosions and screams, you couldn't help but be scared. We rushed out of camp to the armory camp, there we saw the commander usher people into trucks to go head to head with the earthlings. Energy and I got onto the same truck and drove toward the battlefield. On the battlefield, we hopped into the trenches as fast as possible. This was unlike anything I'd ever seen, bullets were flying from both directions Energy looked at me with fear in their eyes. I stood up to shoot when I sat back down they were in a panic "I don't want to die." I should've kept her from joining. "Everything's gonna be fine we'll be back at base soon." I looked my right as I watched someone get shot in the chest they were in pain but not a lot it was as if they were shot with a BB gun several times in the same spot. This gave me a boost of confidence. "Their weak Energy they don't have the resources we have." I took a shooting position and opened fire on the earthlings shooting down two earthlings I ducked back down to regroup.
I turned to see Zelda running over to the person who was down I then looked at Energy who was still in a state of panic. I grabbed their hand and told them to breath. I got back up to shoot again as Zelda headed over to Energy and I "Hey guys we said we'd do this together right?" I ducked down "Yeah" He looked at Energy. "Ok then we're in this together." Zelda quickly checked on the guy again. "Energy look at me I need you to focus ok you will be fine ok just shoot." Zelda and I came back up to continue shooting. "We need to help the other's cover more ground." I looked at the guy Zelda has just brought over. "Hey! I get it it's scary, it hurts but you're not here to give up." Then I looked at Energy "You two should stay here, Zelda and I will go." Energy nodded holding her weapon closer. Zelda hoisted the other soldier up then gave him his gun back. I looked at Energy one more time. "I love you be safe." Then Zelda and I made our way out the trench and began shooting. As we were heading back Zelda was shot in the leg. I quickly grabbed him then put him over my shoulders. I carried him for a little before my legs gave in. I ended up having to drag Zelda back to another trench. "Cover!" A soldier yelled before throwing a grenade. I sat myself up against the dirt wall. Zelda did the same with a grunt. "You should get back to them they're scared shitless." He spoke breathlessly. I looked at him "In this together, remember?"
The earthlings slowly begin to back out. Zelda and I made our back to the safe zone that Energy resided in. where we ran into Okilios and Six and they started to cover once we got to our destination I saw Energy shooting at the Earthlings and ducking back down. " I love you too" they responded. For a second I almost melted into the dirt but I had to focus myself and wait until later to talk with them. We counted down from three and launched our grenades as far as we could throw. The grenades obliterated the earthlings. Once the smoke cleared we watched their lifeless bodies drop to the ground. Blood streamed from places that didn't have holes before, we could see every layer they contained it consisted of skin, flesh, fluid, and bone we could see the horror from the one's that barely made it out "Retreat!" We made it back to base exhausted. Everyone found any and everything to lay on as they finally got to catch their breath. We were told that out of all of us 10,329 were injured with not a single death. A few much needed showers later and after a long shower I made my way to my bed and flopped down as I heard footsteps approaching.
I looked to see Energy waiting for me to move over, I gladly did "Hi" "hi" "That was scary" "Yes it was." "Sooooo you love me?" "I-i don't know I need more time to think" "Oh okay that's fine." "Sorry". We didn't talk for the rest of the day and fell asleep at around 9. This time we were woken up at 4 by the commanders calling us into the yard for a morning roll call. I stood next to Energy but I was still too nervous to speak to them. They were called fairly early so I was standing alone away from everyone else in my group. Once the roll call was over we were put through an advanced obstacle course that usually took 20 minutes to complete. Instead of worrying about me and Energy or war I poured all my energy into the obstacle course 15 minutes after that I was very sweaty, I was ready to get to the shower. I headed back and saw Zelda with his leg bandaged. "I have battle scars now." I smiled at him "Just a graze huh." He smiled. "Yeah..are you ok? I mean with you and Energy you said you loved her yesterday." "Oh right...as a friend that's how I meant it, anyway I'm going to go shower." "Ok see you later" I rushed to the shower. I stood under the water as the effects of yesterday took it's toll. Tears fell from my face I sobbed quietly. 20 minutes later I made my way out the shower.
Eventually, I went out to eat and everyone else started to pour into the cafeteria including Energy who I made eye contact with, which usually would make me happy. After eating I left and hopped on my phone until I fell asleep. The next morning I woke up to see Energy leaving the military site in her car I tried to stop her but they didn't hear me and just kept driving then I woke up in a cold sweat. I suddenly found it hard to breathe, Energy came down from their bed rushing over to me "What's wrong?" She whispered. I tried to answer but it was too difficult . All I could do was hold them as they reassured me. "I'm here ok? I'm here." We sat together for 22 minutes and 46 seconds (I counted) until I said "I think I can go back to sleep now" "You sure?" "Yeah I think so" "Ok" then we proceeded to cuddle until I fell asleep.
