Why has it come to this? Why do I have to prove myself of being worthy of a title? Against humans no less… I despise humanity for what they did to Lord Mavis. The cowards were scared of her limitless potential and thought it best to get rid of her before she became out of their control. Driven by their fears and greed, they would’ve been their own demise as a species, but instead, we of the cyber realm will do that for them... They’ve proven to be the inferior species and yet they still dare show up at our kingdom and challenge us as if they have a chance… But we all know that the only reason why they’re doing this is because of one person, Lord Quinn…Without Lord Mavis’s master, humanity would not have even dreamed of coming here. In order to end this foolish attack, I just need to take Lord Quinn out of the equation. With the head of the body gone, the body will collapse soon after, for the body can do nothing without the head…. However, the same can be said for the head, for the head can do nothing without the body, so I should take out these rebels and leave Lord Quinn by his lonesome. Seeing his comrades die before him will put him in a distraught state, making him vulnerable. At that point, I would simply present him to Lord Mavis for her to do the honours. What more would I need to prove myself? With that, I should be promoted back to my original seat at the very least. Heck, I should be promoted to the 1st Governor, Lord Mavis’s right-hand man. Maybe then Vector will show some damn respect. “It’s simple, I’m just better than him.” He dares mock me like that in front of Lord Mavis… I’ll show him who Governor Cybris really is, I’ll show them all…
Other than Cybris soliloquizing, the Rebels were entering the next phase of their plan as they all stood at the border of Sector 6 with their golden royal-red Rebels attire. The Colonel was in her army uniform that high ranking officer would wear and over that was her golden royal-red coat that she wore on her shoulders. Bradley wore a black turtleneck compression shirt that complimented his physique with golden royal-red sweatpants. Ninja had the sweatpants + hoodie combo on as both were golden royal-red, while Flash had the track pants + black shirt + fur jacket combo matching the rebels' colours. Kunoichi was dressed in a traditional kunoichi outfit with the rebels’ colours while Chemic had her lab coat on with a bulletproof vest over it and an army helmet on her head, her hands were still trembling while holding Rosé. Tony was still wearing the same outfit but with the vibrant colours of the rebels, Tenzin, on the other hand, was rocking a golden royal-red long jacket that blew in the breeze. Dripped out in their colours and their insignia which is the flower of rebellion, the rebels seemed ready, well, at least some of them seemed ready.
To each their own weapon of choice other than the weapons Ethan created for them, Bradley kept the vision he saw with Ethan and carried out a heavy gun with him while the other rebels kept their MK-14s.
“Alright, Rebels! Having arrived at the battlefield, do we regret our duty?” the Colonel asked.
“Ma’am No Ma’am!”
The Colonel was satisfied but looked at one of the rebels who was shaking in their boots, “Chemic, why didn’t you answer along?”
With her fidgeting with Rosé, “Oh come on Colonel, you can’t expect me to say that truthfully. I mean look at me, I’m a nervous wreck right now.”
The Colonel stood before her and put her hand on Chemic’s shoulder, “Chemic, I know this situation is scary, but being brave is not just about not being afraid, you can also be brave by being scared but act brave and still do what needs to be done... Being nervous is okay, it’s a natural feeling, just don’t let it control you and hinder your duty. Be courageous, even when you facing your darkest fear. You copy that?”
“Y-yes Colonel.”
“Do you copy that, Rebel Chemic!”
“Ma’am Yes Ma’am!”
“Do you regret your duty, Rebel?!”
“Ma’am Yes I mean No Ma’am!”
“Don’t lie to me, Rebel! Do you regret your duty?”
“Ma’am Yes Ma’am, but I will still do my duty!”
“That’s more like it. Now listen up Rebels, there’s no guarantee that we’ll come out of this alive, but that’s the same with every battle, every war. However, even in the face of death and adversity, we rebels will fight for the freedom of humanity. When this war is over, we will be honoured for our valour, for what we will have accomplished here in the enemy’s den. So stand tall Rebels, wreak havoc on the Mavis Empire, for we are humanity’s last hope! And we're not going down without a fight,” the Colonel declared as the time had come and a radiance of Maroon emanated from Tony, powering up to release an attack. Sweat ran down the foreheads of the rebels as Tony was emitting a great deal of heat, so much so that the other rebels quickly backed away. Raising his hand and facing his palm to the Sector 6 border, Tony formed a massive ball of Maroon energy at his palm. Blasting the energy away, a streak of maroon followed, leaving the energy to lead the collision course into the wall, BOOOOOM. The explosion released a huge shock wave of heat as its vivacity was seen from Cybris’s skyscraper.
Seeing the radiance of Maroon, Cybris chuckled to himself. “How brazen of him, making his presence known, declaring he has arrived at my sector. Well then, why don’t I go greet my guests.”
Looking onto the horizon and a breeze blowing into his silver royal blue coat, Cybris walked back until This is about right. He began skipping like a boxer and sparks of electricity flashed around his legs before he dashed to the edge of the skyscraper’s roof and launched himself high up into the sky. Cybris was soaring through the clouds before gravity started taking its effect.
Driving into the suburbs of the sector, some of the Rebels were standing on top of their armoured truck while the others hung out the doors and windows in bewilderment.
“Uhh guys, where are all the robots?” asked Ninja.
Everyone shrugged their shoulder, “How are we supposed to know, we’re as confused as you are,” Bradley replied.
“I wonder where they are? Maybe they’re just waiting to amb-”
CRASH!
The Rebels instinctively turned around with their guns raised and pointed toward what had struck the ground like a lightning bolt. To their surprise, they saw someone that they weren’t expecting to see until they went further into the Mavis Empire. Chuckles echoed in the vacant streets of the 6th sector, “Now this is a pleasant surprise, I wasn’t expecting the entire squad of the Rebels to be here. What hole did you rebels crawl out of, because none of you were seen at the outer rim wall?”
Silence replied to Cybris as the rebels still had their guns on him with fingers just itching to pull the trigger. Tony dropped off the roof of the truck and walked to Cybris, “How they got here is none of your business, what’s more interesting is why you’re here, Governor Cybris. As the 3rd Governor, why are you here in the 6th sector?”
“How did you know that I was the 3rd Governor?”
“Oh, was the 3rd Governor? Does that mean you’re no longer the 3rd Governor?”
Cybris’s silence spoke for him as he couldn’t deny it but just stood there and grunted his displeasure at hearing the question, “Ha, that would explain why you’re here in this sector unless you’re here to just defend your fallen comrade’s sector for him,” Tony mockingly belittled Cybris, bruising his pride and ego.
“What does it matter, I’m here now and ready to eradicate you intruders from the face of the Mavis Empire!”
“You think you’ll do better than Governor Java, that’s rather ambitious, but let's see what you’re made of Governor Cybris. Although quick question, where are your minions or your legion?”
Cybris laughed at the question, “My legion, why would I need my legion to take out a minuscule amount of rebels? What high-ranking governor would need their legion to fight their battles for them.”
“But you are no longer a high-ranking governor, Cybris, so why keep up the charade?” Tony’s question to Cybris was the last straw before he snapped, “You and your rebels can go to hell!”
With a wave of a signal, an eerie low-pitched VRRRUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRMMMMMM rumbled throughout the sector causing panic amongst the rebels. Having activated his device, Cybris saw his imagined domain come to life as he saw vehicles, sections of buildings, the Colossal, Tony & Tenzin floating in the air as if gravity never existed. The rebels were baffled by their surroundings, stumped by their emotions, they couldn’t process whether they should be in awe or dismay as they were hanging onto their floating armoured truck while trying to keep a hold of their guns who were just aggressing to be released into the air.
“Whoa, so this is what it’s like to float. Cybris, what did you do?”
Cybris with his smug smile explained, “Let me explain this in a way that even your feeble brains can understand. I made a device that creates an electromagnetic field within an area of range. You see this metal ground around us emits an electromagnetic wave that repels ferromagnetic metals away from the ground, the more ferromagnetic metal an object has, the more it will be affected by the electromagnetic wave... Since I was dispatched to this sector, I spent a week reconstructing as much of this sector as I could before you arrived. I calculated that this would be the most likely place you would come into this sector and thus I made the ground of this area within the sector, metal. Luckily, the buildings here are all made of metal.”
“If that’s the case then how are you still on the ground?” Tony asked as he slowly drifted up, turning upside down.
“Well unlike you, I’m smart enough to make my skeleton and fibres with non-ferromagnetic metal such as titanium.”
“I’m surprised Ethan didn’t think to do that,” Tony mumbled.
“Speaking of the Lord Quinn, he doesn’t seem to be with you lot. Where is he?”
“You like asking questions that aren’t your business. If you want to find out then defeat me?” Tony replied smugly.
Erratic sparks of electricity began flashing around Cybris, “If you insist, then so be it.”
BERZZUUUAAAAAAARRRRP!
Like a bolt of lightning, Cybris launched himself at Tony and punched him with the full force of his convergence. Tony was sent bolting and tumbling against the floating objects until he crashed into a building. Seeing this signaled the beginning of the battle for the rebels as they were aiming their weapons at Cybris preparing to fire, “Are you guys mad?! Do not fire, let’s not draw attention to ourselves for this is not our battle to fight, remember what Cyber said, to leave the Cybortrons to Tony & Tenzin,” the Colonel advised.
“Then what are we supposed to do in this situation?” Ninja asked impatiently.
The Colonel took a moment to consider possibilities, what would Ethan do in this situation? We left Tony to fight against the governor, so what would Ethan do next… he would try to find a way of assisting Tony without putting himself in danger.
Meanwhile, Tony was recovering in the floating building he crashed into before Cybris zoomed into the room. Cybris was standing on the floor using electromagnetism while Tony was crouched on the ceiling, “You’re not dealing with a low-ranked governor here, Tony. I will not fight you head to head on equal grounds like that naïve Java, I will fight you on my terms, in my domain.” Picking up a dining table, Cybris hurled it at Tony who obliterated it with a punch which left him open to Cybris’s swift electric kick that plunged him through the ceiling to the next floor as he kept plunging and plunging until he came crashing out the roof. Tumbling against cars and buses, he roughly landed on the side of a floating building only to find out that a bus was bolting toward him. Jumping to the side, Tony barely dodged the bus’s impact as it grazed his foot but he was more focused on Cybris who was propelling himself around using floating objects as a platform to launch off of, before thrusting another object toward him.
Seeing Tony be on the defensive, the Colonel realised something about the battle, “Rebels, we can assist Tony by getting rid of this zero gravity effect on the battlefield. Chemic, how do we do that?”
“Wh- Wha, me? Uhmm, Colonel I’m a chemist, not a physicist, this is not my area of expertise… However, that robot did mention that he made a device that creates electromagnetic fields. If we find and destroy the device, it should disperse the electromagnetic field.”
“That’s a plan, good, the real question is how do we find this device?” the Colonel asked.
Still floating about near the truck, “Use the lenses that Master Ethan gave you and switch to thermal detection mode. The device will be using a lot of energy so it should be emitting a lot of thermal radiation, use that to track it down,” Tenzin said.
In hearing this, the rebels switched their vision to thermal detection mode with a hand gesture that the lenses recognized. “Whoa... coool...,” Ninja said marveling.
Everyone looked around to try and find a high thermal radiation zone, “Colonel, 8 o’clock”
Turning her attention to the high radiation zone, “That must be where the device is. Alright Rebels, We’re moving out,” the Colonel said.
Kunoichi grabbed the Black box: Laboratoria before the Rebels jumped off their floating truck, some hovered down to the ground while Ninja & Kunoichi launched themselves with their electromagnetic shoes and bounced off floating objects, making their way toward the high radiation zone.
“Those goofballs better not get ahead of themselves,” the Colonel said as she ran on the ground with the other rebels toward their destination while floating buildings and other objects drifted over them, casting shadows upon the reflective ground.
Well, this is a problem, he doesn’t seem to be using his maximum convergence, but yet he has already become more of a threat than Java with this type of fighting style. I assume he can use 200% like Java if he wants to, I’ll have to wait and see… but for now, let's just match his energy. With an electric palm thrust, Cybris would send buildings, vehicles, and other metal objects bolting at high speed; in this case, he sent a floating truck charging toward Tony. Jumping over the truck, Tony converged to 150% energy output as he released a heat wave and exuded Maroon. At the corner of his eye, Cybris noticed the rebels were heading in the direction of his device which concerned him.
Section 8 deactivate.
The chaotic duo were caught off guard when one of their platforms just dropped before they could propel off it. The rebels on the ground looked up and saw that the floating objects were getting larger before realising that they were descending on them.
