After weeks of talking over text, the two decided to make some plans to meet up. At a local cafe, Jax entered the area and already saw Azlin sitting in a corner. She was wearing casual clothing for the first time. Looking beautiful. He went and sat in the chair in front of her and smiled.
“Yooo~ Jax! Took you long enough.”
“I wasn’t even late. You’re just really early!” He whined.
“Well obviously I’m early, it’s a date right~?” Azlin teased.
“No this isn’t a date..just a friendly gathering.”
“Sure, sure, whatever you say! Let’s just order some drinks now because I’m thirsty”
“Uhmm, check the menu.”
She picks up the menu and scans through it to find a drink. Azlin then passes it to Jax for him to read.
“I’ll order for us! What you drinking?” Azlin stated.
“I- uh I’ll have a latte.”
“Okay!!” She calls a waiter over and smiles brightly.
“Hello, what will it be for you two?” The waiter asks.
“I’ll have a caramel macchiato and he’ll have a hot latte.”
“One caramel macchiato and a hot latte, anything else?” The waiter pondered.
“No thank will be all! Thank you so much~!!” Azlin grins.
The waiter blushes and walks away writing the orders down. Jax squints his eyes and stares the waiter down like a predator waiting to hunt. Azlin notices this and chuckles at him.
“Man stop glaring at the poor waiter! Haha!!!”
“I wasn’t glaring..”
“Oh you so were Jax!”
“Was not…!”
“You can deny it but we both know you were.”
“Anyways, Azlin I have a question for you.”
“Yeah what’s up?”
“Uhm about your skin..”
“Ohhh about my skin? You interested little dude??”
“Sorry if it sounds rude..-”
“Nah you’re just curious! It’s a skin disease called vitiligo~ I don’t really mind it but it’s all over my skin now.”
“It’s pretty…you’re pretty” Jax thinks.
“I guess we both have a special something about our skin.” Jax replies.
“Mhm! You have those adorable freckles while I have this. Haha!!” Azlin said.
“A-adorable?” He blushes.
“Yes adorable! Your so adorable little man!!” “Azlin shut up…”
The waiter comes along with a smug smirk and places down the drinks, Azlin thanks the waiter and starts sipping her caramel macchiato. Jax sits straight and drinks his latte as well. After a bit of small talk, they were finished and they went off to Jax’s motorcycle.
Jax brushed his dark-golden brown hair back out off his eyes and sat to the front of the motorcycle, me motioned Azlin over and made her sit at the back of him. After she went on, he took his black helmet and gently placed it on her head with a wide smile. Seeing the true happiness in Jax’s face Azlin felt a large spark in her. Like she couldn’t fully look him in the face anymore. Like she was burning inside and out, lowering her head while blushing intensely. An emotion she’s only felt once in her life, the spin of love…
Jax didn’t notice on what she was doing and started his ride, starting slowly but zooming past a lot of cars. He was a confident driver, a prideful one that probably calls his precious belongings “my baby.” She started glancing at his defined back while placing her arms around him to not fall off. If someone saw her face right now it would look as if there were literal hearts in her eyes. It was a long smooth ride that felt as if it lasted forever, the last time they rode together it felt like a minute past before she awoke to reality at her front door.
The seconds went past like hours, but she still wished it lasted longer. This isn’t real. She replayed in her mind, it was just a smile? Yet a very handsome one. It was late at night, so when they went to a neighborhood area it was just them two on the road. Even without looking up, Azlin could guess what expression Jax was making. Just a pure straight face focusing on the road. Not even an ounce of thought, she half expected him to be a responsible driver, not thinking of other things while on the road.
Yet, inside of Jax’s mind it was a whole explosion. The hard grip of Azlin’s arms around his waist drove him crazy. His mind was muddled up when he thought of her, all his thoughts was her. These past few months, between missions together and those subtle talks was enough for him. At least that’s what he thought. Being oblivious wasn’t really something that could kill. The truth is. If it even took him a few minutes of thoughts other than her, even he could figure it out. That this early stage was a crush on her.
These little things would never grow larger though. That’s what everyone who has a crush thinks, if you aren’t oblivious of course. The motorcycle went to a sudden stop and they arrived in front of Azlin’s building. Slowly, Azlin got off and took the helmet off before handing it to him. She rushed to the door with a smirk on her face, once she got there she turned and started waving.
“Bye Azlin!” Jax said.
“See you Jax~”
