Wriothesley remained completely still even as you got close to him, feeling you breathing down his neck. He could see his roommate's eyes staring at him, unblinking and cool, yet he didn't feel uncomfortable one bit.
Your breath and your proximity... the feeling felt strangely comfortable to him.
So he simply stayed still and silent as you helped him light his cigarette. No words were needed to explain it, nor was a reply required. The feeling between you both just somehow worked, even in silence.
After Wriothesley's cigarette successfully relit, you leaned back and sat on your knees. The water stilled again. Your movements were slow and deliberate as you took another puff, exhaling with little to no sound. And the subtle grin that painted your lips was probably the most emotion you’ve exhibited the whole time. The way your lips were barely parted, exposing your top teeth- and the slight tilt of your head... It was as if you were thinking deeply about something that probably amused you.
Wriothesley did not stop looking at his roommate's lips as he took his puff and exhaled the smoke, even when you finally leaned back. The closeness still lingered between them, even if you had moved away. He also noticed that ever-present grin that never left your face. He wondered what exactly made you feel amused at this moment when you and him were simply in a bathtub…
Wriothesley then wondered if you had ever blinked. Your eyes were always so close to shutting but simply remained narrow… It was as if the two could talk telepathically...if that were real. It's like the roommates could sense what the other was feeling, just by staring at one another. And the bath ritual was no different.
You relaxed back on your side of the tub again, arching your shoulders while your arms rested on the tub's edges, knees slightly bent. The cigarette was held between your teeth, and you kept it there.
Wriothesley kept staring, almost as if he was waiting for you to blink first or say something first. He liked this ritual they had between them, and the fact that you were aware of each other's thoughts, even if only telepathically. It was as if you both understood each other on a higher level.
He noticed the way your limbs and body were positioned, as if you were comfortable where you were, despite your body being submerged in water. Despite that, he couldn't help but feel oddly fond of the sight. You two remained like that for a while, neither of you willing to say anything. And suddenly, Wriothesley couldn't take it anymore. He had to break the silence.
"Y/N...?"
