Darkness, that's all there is in this forsaken place, darkness. My ancestors had the life, they had gold, jewels, diamonds, and partners. Kings are supposed to have everything they want but what do I have a sloppy kingdom and darkness.
My mother told me when I get older, I will do something magnificent to seek my revenge, but what is happening now, I'm sitting in my castle doing nothing but sorrow. I never met my father for what happened in the Great War, but my mother told me he was a legend, he was strong, kind and the best Lord you would ever see but, why would he start the war?
We dragons don't have many jobs our main ones are mining, blacksmith and hunting, even though we are trained protectors the only thing we can't protect is out health, a few years after the war a disease spread all over, killing dragon. When I was 15 my mother passed and ever since I became king, ever dragon has given up on so much as they didn't want a "child" to be king. But the one thing that they do care about is what's hidden in the deepest cave in Night Fury, the dark crystal.
The dark crystal, the most powerful crystal in the whole world. If it gets in the hands of anger and distress there will be great consequences, let me tell you what will happen.
First, the person or creature that has the crystal will have uncontrollable power, infusing element with dark magic.
Second, they will start destroying everything, buildings, homes, nature, even living things.
Just to finish it, if it gets to out of control they would release a tearable curse. The only way to stop them - and I can't believe I'm saying this- is a "true loves kiss", ugh. But it's never happened and never will happen.
Here in Night Fury, we have a special school that all the kids go to, Dragon eye academy. It's in new reapers at the moment, so the kids would be at a hunting ground for extra lessons {poor kids}. At Dragon Eye Academy, we have the following lessons hunting, forging swords, flying, shape shifting and fire breathing. The school was built like the most gorgeous school ever {though I was told}.
You may think, "Oh Zach you're the King shouldn't you do something," yes and I do but when you try to tell them to do something, it goes in one ear and out the other, especially if it's not about violence or bloodshed. Ever since the Great War, the only thing my people care about is violence or bloodshed, all they do is ask stupid questions and I HATE stupid questions so I have given up on it, it's their own fault.
Like the elves we to are surrounded by forest but it is not healthy and as green as theirs, our forest looks and smells dead {maybe because of the dead animals} the trees are dark brown and covered in blood, the grass is black and dead and we have no flowers, just filthy weeds. Our sky is always covered in thick, gray fog. We have massive mountains that us dragons can easily fly over, our creek is not clean and crystal it's filled with dead animals and plants it's disgusting.
Elves. Perfect little creatures that, "Never do harm," I mean don't get me wrong their perfect and pretty creatures, but they look annoying and loud. Ever since the Great War the elves have been our number one enemy.
Many stories have been passed down about the Great War let me tell you what my mother told me.
'25 years ago, on 10th of May 1575 everything was going perfect, young elves and dragons would play in the creek and adults would talk about things children wouldn't understand. They were kind to us so we were kind back, but it was a trick. They said the elves started to attack us after the King of Elves killed my father, they became savages killing every dragon in sight, that's when we decide to attack back killing elves with anger in our eyes. I was only born a week before the war happened {not really the best celebration to have}. On the battle floor fill of dead elves and dragons, the Elf Mages came running in and blasting magic at all of us, so we had to do only thing left to do... surrender. One by one, we started leaving but before my mother left she held me in her arms and gave a prophecy that I will have our revenge."
Now I know what I have to do. For fill the prophecy my mother left me.
An unwanted elf and a misunderstood dragon, born on two different sides of a story, raised on two different sides of a war. Born to hate each other.
But one glance, one glow could change everything.
But could one forbidden agreement, one forbidden friendship, one forbidden love change themselves?
