Sandra reconsidered Laura's offer this morning. It was definitely not a bad offer. Leaving this dismal married life behind wouldn't hurt her. Andrew had never given her anything, so what was she thinking about?
It was just too hard. What should she tell Stacey? What would Stacey do if she found out that she had decided to divorce Andrew?
She had already agreed to marry Andrew in exchange for covering her father's debt, so this was definitely not a choice she could take lightly.
But...
Ding! Dong!
There was a bell that broke Sandra's reverie. She raised her brow, astonished. There was never anyone who rang her doorbell late at night like this.
Was it Laura? That seemed impossible. Laura had just left me three hours ago, and there was no way she was coming back now. There was nothing left behind or any reason to come back.
Ruth? No, no. It was definitely not Ruth. Ruth was currently out of the area taking care of her new restaurant business, so she couldn't possibly be here.
As for the household manager, Lana was also out of the question. The old lady only came in the morning to work, after which she would leave. She never stayed overnight at the villa, although she offered, because the household manager still had to take care of her four young grandchildren.
So who was coming to her house now?
Sandra was terrified. Fear overcame her along with curiosity. The bell sounded louder and louder. Because there was no other choice, Sandra finally ventured out of the room, walking towards the intercom near the entrance.
On the intercom screen, Sandra couldn't believe what had just happened. Her eyes widened, and her brain had trouble processing the information in front of her.
She found Andrew waiting in front of her house instead.
Andrew?! How weird, why did he come to her place?!
Sandra immediately opened the door. In front of her, Andrew looked so disheveled. He looked at her, then smiled innocently at her. A smile that Andrew had never once shown during his marriage to her.
Vaguely, she smelled alcohol coming from his mouth. How many alcoholic drinks had he had?
Sandra felt both worried and anxious. Was there something the man was worried about? What was Andrew going through to drink this much alcohol?
"Andrew? What are you doing here? What happened..."
Sandra didn't have time to continue her words when Andrew suddenly held Sandra's body tightly. His head rested on her shoulder, so she could feel his warm breath and tickle the sensitive spots on her neck.
Her heart was racing. For the first time in her marriage, she found Andrew being so spoiled with her.
Was this a dream? She did imagine this scenario happening in her mind several times. But only an imaginary scenario was in her mind, no matter how many times she hoped Andrew would turn into a romantic husband.
"I'm home...," Andrew spoke in a half-whispered, half-laughing tone of voice. "Did you miss me?"
Andrew's question created a pounding feeling that intensified. Did this mean that her cold husband was finally opening up to her?
Andrew moved closer to her, looking at her lips. Then he kissed her intensely until she was almost out of breath from it. She found herself enjoying the kiss; she wanted Andrew to do more...
"Patricia..."
The pounding feeling vanished as soon as she heard him call Patricia Margareth—the man's secretary—not her name. Anger, resentment, and hatred overcame Sandra.
BLUEEGHH!!!
Her misfortune was not enough. She hadn't even recovered from her anger when Andrew threw up, hitting her clothes.
"F*ck!"
She immediately pushed Andrew's body to the floor. Her feet kicked the man repeatedly as she let out swear words.
How could she give a kiss to a man who called out another woman's name!?
How annoying!
"I don't know what to do..."
She heard Andrew mumble, not understanding the meaning of the man's words. She was planning to leave her bastard husband on the floor, but she decided against it. Reluctantly, she carried Andrew's body with difficulty to the bed.
"Phew...," Sandra wiped the sweat from her forehead.
She helped Andrew take off his shoes and clothes while letting out a long sigh.
She looked at him for a moment before shaking her head slowly.
"It's about time, huh? Yes, I think it's the right time..."
She had made up her mind; she was going to leave, to disappear from that man's life. She would be a free woman.
She grabbed the smartphone on her nightstand and walked towards the laundry room. After taking off her clothes as well and putting all the dirty clothes into the washing machine, she called Laura.
"Sandra?" Laura's hoarse voice greeted her as soon as the call was connected, indicating that her best friend had just woken up. "Why did you call me this late?"
She hadn't been crying. But hearing Laura's question made her realize how stupid she had been. Tears began to fall down her cheeks, and she sobbed.
"Sandra?" The sound of her sobbing knocked out Laura's sleepiness instantly. "Did something happen?"
"About your offer this morning...," Sandra said between sobs. "Is it still valid?"
"Yeah ... Of course, it's still up," Laura's voice sounded worried and anxious. "Do you want me to pick you up now?"
"Yes," Sandra replied as she wiped away her tears.
"Please. I can't stand being here anymore..."
"I'll be there in fifteen minutes, all right? Wait for me in front of your villa."
"Thanks, Laura," Sandra said, relieved. "I'll pack my things. See you later."
She hung up the call. Her eyes fell on the washing machine, spinning her laundry with a sad look.
"I hope I made the right decision..."

Andrew groaned softly as he woke up. A sharp pain shot through his head, causing his hand to reflexively touch his temple.
It seemed he had drunk too much champagne at the party, beyond his usual capacity.
His eyes darted around, and he was confused. This wasn't his house, definitely not. He did not remember the interior of his bedroom being this simple and empty.
To his surprise, he found himself not wearing a single piece of clothing—a blanket wrapped around his body.
The last time he remembered, he went to the party at Willow's residence with Tasya and Patricia. After that, he didn't remember anything.
How much alcohol had he drunk for his memory to be this bad?
