Andy and October are actually well balanced.
Andy's pessimism keeps them alert and prepared. October's idealism can seem like a disadvantage but has also saved Andy's life in the first few chapters and earned the pair allies in Sam's group.
If they both learn to understand and trust each other instead of assuming the other person should just think like they do, then they will be a pretty powerful pairing.
