The scary man, suddenly, seized Patricia roughly and yanked her into the house, her grip on Jack's hand slipping in the chaos. With a jolt, she crashed to the ground alongside the frightened boy.
Her shock quickly turned to outrage as she witnessed Jack's distress and the man's callous disregard for his well-being. "ARE YOU NUTS? YOU HURT YOUR SON!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with anger and concern.
Ignoring her protests, the man advanced menacingly, a rope clenched tightly in his grasp. "That's not what you should be concerned about, beautiful lady!" he sneered, his intentions shrouded in ominous ambiguity.
Despite her formidable abilities, Patricia exercised restraint, choosing to remain subdued as she assessed the situation unfolding around her. Despite her captor's brutish demeanor, she sensed that there was more to the situation than met the eye. The cries for help only added to the mystery, compelling her to maintain her guise as a helpless hostage.
Feigning struggle, Patricia allowed the man to bind her hands, all the while keeping a keen ear on the commotion outside. Her heart raced with apprehension as she listened to the man's callous remarks, his intentions becoming chillingly clear.
"LET ME GO!" she shouted, her voice tinged with desperation, though inwardly she remained composed, her mind racing with plans to thwart the man's sinister designs.
The man's gleeful laughter only served to confirm Patricia's annoyance. "HAHAHA, A BEAUTY LIKE YOU IS WORTH A FORTUNE. DON'T WORRY, I WILL MAKE SURE TO SELL YOU TO A WEALTHY MAN," he boasted, his words dripping with malice.
As Patricia processed the man's intentions, a wave of anger surged within her, tempting her to unleash her power and retaliate against her captor. However, she recognized the importance of remaining composed in such a perilous situation. Suppressing her urge to strike out, she focused on maintaining a facade of compliance while strategizing her next move.
Following her brief grooming, the man escorted her to the basement, where, as she had anticipated, several other women were being abducted and confined to cells, their heads obscured from view.
"This despicable man! Abducting women and trafficking them as slaves. Utterly repulsive!" Patricia seethed inwardly.
With callous disregard, the man flung her into one of the cells, preparing to seal her within. However, as he moved to close the door, he was met with a chilling sight—a faint smile playing upon Patricia's lips, sending a shiver down his spine.
Meeting his gaze with unwavering confidence, Patricia's eyes bore into his, instilling a sense of unease within him.
"You will not escape justice," she declared.
Attempting to assert dominance, the man leaned in with a smirk, taunting Patricia with a demeaning remark: "What can a mere blonde like you do to me?"
In an instant, Patricia's restraint shattered. Fueled by a surge of anger, she unleashed her formidable strength, effortlessly snapping the rope binding her wrists. Seizing the man by the shoulder, she delivered a swift blow to his head, rendering him unconscious.
"Bastard," she spat, her voice laced with frustration. "I intended to show restraint, but you've left me no choice... I can only hope I haven't harmed him irreparably."
Two other men burst into the room, urgently attempting to apprehend Patricia. "CATCH HER! DON'T LET HER ESCAPE!" they shouted.
Patricia swiftly grabbed the unconscious man's dagger and rose to her feet, poised for a confrontation. "I think it's you who should be running away," she retorted, her voice laced with determination.
With a few swift moves, Patricia overpowered the men, rendering them incapacitated. She then proceeded to free the other captive women and guided them to safety. "HURRY UP, GO!" she urged them, ensuring they fled to safety.
As she prepared to leave, Patricia felt a tug on her dress. It was the young boy, John, looking remorseful and teary-eyed. "I'm... I'm sorry... I didn't have... a... a choice..." he stammered, his voice breaking as tears streamed down his face.
Patricia gently lifted the boy into her arms and comforted him with soothing words. "You shouldn't feel sorry, kid. It is not your fault. I will make sure to put you in the right place," she assured him, patting his back tenderly.
With John in her arms, Patricia made her way back to her brother's stall. As soon as she reached the stall, Patrick's frantic search ended abruptly when he spotted her. Rushing towards her, he unleashed a torrent of questions and scoldings.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I TOLD YOU NOT TO LEAVE YOUR PLACE! AND... and who is this child?" he demanded, his voice laced with worry and frustration.
Patricia took a deep breath before responding, her tone resolute. "Can you take me to the inspector's office?" she asked, her eyes determined.
"The inspector's office? Are you insane? We are avoiding those kinds of people!" Patrick exclaimed, his concern escalating.
With a calm yet firm demeanor, Patricia laid out her ultimatum. "Well, either you take me there, or we will have to bring this child home with us," she stated firmly, her gaze unwavering.
Confusion and curiosity flashed across Patrick's face as he processed her words. "Tell me, what is going on?" he demanded, his voice tinged with apprehension.
"I will tell you everything later, can't you trust me?" Patricia responded.
Patrick grasped the complexity of his sister's predicament. "She is not foolish enough to expose our secret," he reasoned to himself.
"Alright... follow me," he relented, leading the way.
Patricia felt a wave of uncertainty wash over her, but she knew she had no other option. She had to save the boy from his father's clutches, no matter the cost.
As Patricia stepped into the inspector's office, the sight of him in his impeccably tailored uniform immediately caught her attention. His bearing exuded authority and wisdom, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to take in every detail. His stern expression commanded respect, instilling a sense of apprehension in Patricia as she approached him, knowing she had no choice but to confront him.
She paused for a moment, taking in the handsome features of the inspector. His jet-black hair framed his face, accentuating the sharpness of his piercing blue eyes. It was her first time conversing with a stranger, and Patricia felt her nerves palpably. She unconsciously bit her lip, a telltale sign of her anxiety. However, the inspector noticed her unease and offered her a reassuring smile, which helped to ease her mind somewhat.
"How can I serve you, lady?" he inquired gently.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Patricia recounted the events that had unfolded in the house, omitting the part where she could easily defeat the gang. Patrick, who was also present, listened to his sister's narrative incredulously, finding it hard to believe that such a series of events could transpire in his absence.
"This girl is driving me crazy," he thought to himself.
The inspector listened attentively, then abruptly rose from his seat, issuing orders to his fellow officers to apprehend the criminals at the house. Turning back to Patricia, he offered her a grateful smile.
"Thank you, my lady, for your testimony. You have aided us in capturing a dangerous gang," he commended before gallantly kissing her hand.
Patricia blushed at the gesture, stammering slightly in response. "Well... It... It's my pleasure..." She then inquired about the fate of the boy.
"Don't worry about him. He's a victim as well. We'll ensure he finds a good family to adopt him," the inspector reassured her.
Patricia smiled warmly at Derrick, feeling a sense of reassurance in his presence.
"Lady, may I inquire about your name?" he asked politely.
"My name is Patricia," she replied.
"It's my pleasure to meet you, Lady Patricia. My name is Derrick, I hope you won't forget this name," Derrick said with a charming smile.
As Patricia gazed into Derrick's blue eyes, a fleeting memory of the werewolf's eyes crossed her mind. She also noticed his injured arm, prompting a moment of concern. However, she quickly dismissed the notion, attributing it to a mere coincidence.
"Lady, is something amiss?" Derrick inquired, noticing her contemplative expression.
Patricia smiled to conceal her inner turmoil. "Oh, no, I'm just glad that you will take good care of the kid. I have to go; my brother is waiting for me," she said, eager to leave the office.
Derrick courteously escorted Patricia to her brother, who had left earlier, feeling uncomfortable in the office.
"Lady, I hope I can see you again," Derrick said, his tone filled with sincerity.
Patricia nodded politely, not wanting to further agitate her brother, who already seemed annoyed enough to handle another scene. She quickly took her brother's hand and whisked him away before the inspector could make another gesture.
"Thank you very much, Inspector. I appreciate your help," she said, her voice hurried, as she led her brother away.
The inspector, with a steely gaze, directed one of his officers, "Bring me some information about that lady and her family."
