How boring can life be when you already know your destiny. Everyone wants to be a hero in their life, that is what they teach–”help others”. Before I get myself carried away, might I remind myself that it isn’t my intention to change the world, more like I have already achieved what others wanted. Then what? Then people give all the credits to the goddess. ‘The goddess has blessed us with her loyal servant’. Well neither do I trust her anymore nor am I her servant. If she were kind enough she would have already cured the world from those Anicroms. But why do I care? In the end people will only counter by saying it is ‘karma’
“What did you say?”, the voice echoed throughout the empty church.
There she was the statue of Archianna smiling to provoke me. My focus turned toward the group of men in black hoods. We were all criminals, kidnapping people for money. That was how I lived my entire life.
Or so i thought
“Can I kill them now that they are captured”, I repeated myself
Men in the shadows stood still. I couldn’t see what their face showed yet I knew they were flabbergasted.
My voice echoed throughout the empty church. Among the shadow men, stood a bigger figure who seemed walking towards me.
“Do you know when a dog becomes liable?”
Yes, they were pissed.
I stared right into his eyes
“When it bites its owner”
I smirked.
Despite being close all I could see was his eyes. Their masks hid everything.
“Well then my blade will need to drink the filthy ones”
A sudden headache turned into dizziness. There was a part of me that never seemed to agree with my decisions.
‘It wasn’t my intent to do what I just said. It was as if a whole new psychopath inside me were to take charge.’
Those thoughts made it worse. I raged and drew my blade.
My dizziness grew stronger, vision blurred but my muscles fully engaged. I danced in the blood rain. The men cried in pain. It was both a melody and torture for my ears.
“So as for punishment you need to discipline your dog”,I murmured
my vision came back, I was sitting on a dead guy.
Blood painted the whole room, everything was burning, the statue stared at me as if provoking. Everyone was dead except me… no… my heart was empty as if i was already dead
I could hear distant yellings, the cold ran down my spine. I had killed a whole group of people? As I came back to my senses, I couldn't stop trembling. I could hear people yelling as if they were trying to catch someone.
They might be after me…
I must have killed them after all…
I was shivering, I ran outside the ruined church, toward a dark misty forest.
It grew colder, I was exhaling fog. My purple hair made an entrance as my hood slid down. The cold made my throat dry, the cold pierced my cheeks. The trees were tall and dull. As I ran I disturbed a whole tribe of bats. The tree trunk made horrid faces as if they witnessed my crimes. I closed my eyes and ran with all my might. I never had a destiny, I kept running forward.
“Aughh!”
I pushed something soft. I stopped to catch my breath.
“Sam, it's here! Kill it!”, she yelled
It was a blond woman. She held my wrist and called out for someone. Despite looking weak her grip was powerful. A man appeared out of nowhere from the mist. He had an annoyed mood, seeing me make it worse.
“Hold her, Vini!”, he yelled
Enemies.
Before he could strike me with his blade, I pulled away and drew my dull blade drenched in blood.
“I fear you won’t be lasting with that dull blade”
“Enough to trick you”, I smirked breaking a sweat
One slash and I jumped back.
Before he could blink, I escaped
Or so I thought when a surprise iron bar hit my head.
At least I can rest now, I sighed in relief
