Dragon bound.

Dragon sightings.

Dragon sightings.

Apr 30, 2024

A few years before the events of the story.  Carlisa, was tending the fields, a strong breeze blew cool. 'A storms brewing somewhere towards the east...heading this way.' she thought to herself. She is about twelve years old at this time. She and her family are well educated and enjoyed their lives as farmers, they were good alchemists as well. Carlisa continued to pull weeds and other troublesome plants that tried to sprout with the crops. 'Come on go away stupid plants...' she thought to herself.  The air shifted a bit and she heard a small hiss, pausing she straightened up and then turned around. She stumbled and nearly falling but was gently caught by what startled her.

After they set her on her feet, she was met with a large but small dragon they had blue scales with a brighter line that ran underneath their eye, down the snout and their next, and was met with an emerald green eye. She blinked both in awe and fear. 'How did it sneak up on me like that?' she wondered to herself.  "H-hi." she said in a quiet voice. The dragon straightened up, looked down at her and smiled. "Hello, how are you?" they asked. "I'm fine, thank you for asking, how are you?" she replied. 'Oh my goodness, he can talk! I heard that was a possibilty but why come to me! of all people!' she thought to herself excitedly.  "I'm doing good, um... would it be okay if I ask a favor of you and your family?" he asked.

"Sure." she replied, 'I don't want to say no...can I say no to a dragon?' she thought frantically but was brought from her thoughts when a far larger dragon one with different colored red scales and a thin necklace. They also had a Emerald green eyes.  "Greetings young one." the dragon said. His voice was deep but gentle. "Hello." Carlisa replied. "You all are so cool...I've only heard stories about you all." she said quietly.  The younger dragon was sheepish while the older one merely chuckled a little. "Yes...we've been on a long journey, if it's okay with your father that we may stay for a few days to rest and then we'll move on." he said. "I'll ask him, Though I don't know what he'll think." she replied. "Thank you, if he insists that we leave then that is fine." he replied. She nodded, "I'll be right back!" she called as she sprinted off. "uh..I was going to say take your time..." the older dragon said.  "I'm surprised she wasn't scared." the younger one said. "Same here." the older on murmured.

Carlisa reached her house and breathlessly told her father about the two dragons in their fields. At first he didn't believe her, not in the mean sense but in the sense of what a wild imagination. But her mother listened and followed her. "Uh, Jason?" the mother said. "Yes dear?" he asked he was putting a horse shoe on the horse. It sensed the dragon and neighed nervously. "She right, a large Red dragon and two more just landed nearby." she said. "What?" he asked as he got up and stared in awe. "See! can they stay for a couple of days? they need rest after a long journey." Carlisa said. "Uh...." he said. "I don't think they're going to stay long and stuff." she continued.  "let me go talk to them stay here." he said. "Oh okay... I wanted to talk to them some more." she murmured dissapointedly.  "Go get cleaned up, and keep your siblings inside, I'm going to go talk to them too." mom said. "Okay." Carlisa said.
                                                                                                   ***
After this the dragons were allowed to stay, they changed their forms into a more human appearance to keep others from just staring, they didn't want to start trouble for the family.  There were about fifty dragons, and Carlisa was able to teach the young dragons some farming things.  They all have noticed the change in the weather and it was getting worse. 'I don't like this.' Carlisa thought to herself.  The skies were really dark, and bright volts of lightning would flash across the skies. "This is not good." her father murmured. "Why is the lightning green?" Carlisa asked. The dragons were also watching the skies, and they looked anxious.  She also heard them discussing  making protection spells for the house. Carlisa was sitting on the roof of her home along with what she learned was the dragon Prince. "So, Cole... do you think everything will be okay?" she asked. "I hope so." he replied.
                                                                                             ***
There was a rumble of thunder and then some lightning struck something in the fields, and a fire sparked. "Oh no!" Carlisa said. Without warning she jumped down and quickly grabbed a bucket ran towards the lake and together she and several others quickly tried to fight the fire but it only grew.  The dragons transformed and one of them having the ice element tried to put it out this way. It didn't get put out it only grew. "Sire! It's magic! the storm isn't even a normal one!" they shouted. "We need to make a containment charm! The farm will be consumed but the rest of the village will be saved!" they continued.  "Are you sure there isn't anything we can do?" another dragon asked.

Carlisa looked towards the dragon king, he had a sad look and conserned. "Can you all hold it back long enough for us to get the animals out? then can you contain it?" her father asked. "Are you sure? You'll lose everything." the king asked.  "Yes, we'll try and grab sentimental things as well but the animals come first and the rest of the village, our farm can be remade lives can't." he said. The king nodded. "I'm sorry." the frost dragon said. "It's okay...I'd rather lose the farm than have lives lost." he said. "I agree with dad, lives are more important." she replied. "We have to hurry before it spreads to far." she continued.  So with this she and a few others were able to get the animals out her mother, grandparents were able to get some sentimental items while her dad stayed with her younger siblings. It took hours for the fire to die down, but the whole farm was gone. Years of work gone for good. "My apologies for the farm, we don't know what caused this only that it was magic." the king said sadly.

"It's okay, at least no one was injured, that's all that matters." he replied.  "What do we do now?" her sister asked. "We don't know Zara." their mother said. "How about you come with us, we're going to the capital, maybe King Darius will allow you all a place to stay and work." the dragon king said.  The father nodded, so with this they were given the chance to ride the dragons, Zara, her mother rode on the Frost dragon which they learned was the wife and mother of Cole. Carlisa rode on Cole and her brother and father rode on the King. It took at least two more days before they all arrived, King Darius greeted the dragons and the family. When he learned of what befell their farm he gave them jobs within the castle, and a nice home within.  It took them a while to get settled and to learn a whole new set of rules, and mannerisms.  But she got to hang out with Cole in her free time and they became fast friends adventuring around the Castle when they weren't busy with responsibilties.

Somewhere in the kingdom of Staggeria, an evil Wizard was lurking within the castle talking to two thug-like guards, "Keep the fool of a king busy, and make sure that the spell on his stays intact." he hissed.  "Yes sir." they replied.  A crackle of thunder rolled before they left the room.  "Soon...my plan will be complete." he said.

In the land of Aetoran, a world full of magic and dragons and other mythological creatures. Things have been relatively peaceful, aside from rumors of a war going on in the kingdom of Staggeria of the Staggerian Dynasty. They were fighting some people from the next kingdom over called Sturith Kingdom. Many of the dragons come from Staggeria, but with the war they didn't want to get caught up in it. Their royal family befriended King Darius and they formed a bond. This allows those who bond with the dragon to take on some of their attributes and strengthens said dragon and person, but it must be a mutual agreement, if not then it doesn't work.

With this war threatening the peace, as other kingdoms formed alliances, it would isolate Vaton Empire. So with this they were all prepared for this war but also tried to see if they could find a peaceful solution. Darius's children were not suited for this, one was spoiled and wanted nothing more than to be told their pretty and stuff. while they youngest just wanted to be a tyrant having his way and the oldest wanted war. Darius didn't see this, as they hid it well, but King Byron, and his children and their councilors could see this.

He's tried to warn him gently but it hasn't worked. Now when it's about time for the bonding ceremony they will have to prove themselves worthy though this years bonding ceremony will be different, King Byron was able to get King Darius to change some things, allowing others to bond with a dragon, a young servant girl included. Whatever happens will determine the future of all of their lives. Read on.
