Read Dragon bound. :: Serving the Princess.

A few years later, It's been a few years since my home was lost in that mysterious lightning and brewing storm. Thankfully we haven't had anything like that again, and the area where our home was has begun to heal. Silently I laid in bed, staring up at the canopy of my bed. 'My birthday is tomorrow... though I won't have time to celebrate, perhaps me and Cole can have an adventure later on in the night, explore the city?' I wondered to myself. Quietly I listened to the fire crackle in my fire place. It was nice and peaceful. I decided to try and get some more sleep before Princess Starla needs me. With a small sigh I rolled onto my side slowly dozing off.

About an hour or so later, I awoken to a loud bang on my door. Startled I fell out of bed and then scrambled through the curtain and blanket to more banging on my door. "GET UP NOW!" I heard a voice whine. 'Ugh....' I thought to myself. After a moment or two of struggling I finally got changed and dressed, 'Dang it... it's technically my day off!' I thought in annoyance. Once dressed I answered the door and was met by a pink faced Princess, her ember brown eyes nearly black with rage. "Follow." she hissed.

"Yes-" She silenced me and I followed without a sound. My family kept their heads down and they gave me sympathetic looks. After this I continued to follow her serveral servants and nobles kept their heads down and avoided her, she wasn't as bad as her younger and older brothers. But no one was brave enough to say this. Soon we were in her room and she spun on her heel and said. "Now, Clean my fireplace, and then once you're cleaned up make me something to eat got it?" she asked. "Yes, your highness." I replied. I quickly got to work, carefully taking out the ashes and cleaning all of the soot and much more. It didn't take me too long to clean, but I was covered in ash and soot. Once I was done I quickly left got cleaned up and then made her something to eat, One of her favorite dishes. Thankfully she was happy with it and I was told to leave, she'd send someone for me later.

When I left I heard many people murmuring, "Cole is in the castle." one person whispered. "Yeah he's looking for someone." another said. "Oh?" another asked. "Yeah, we don't know who." the person said. Quietly I moved on and went to my room, I greeted my family who asked, "Are you okay?" my mom asked, she came up and gave me a hug. "Yeah, just had to do some cleaning cooked something for the princess." I replied simply. I hugged her back and sighed. After this I went to my room and laid back down, slowly I dozed off again and just relaxed.
